Hey Buddy whats the name of your council?

I'm in Vincent. They have four ceremonies a year. Aus Day, May, August, November. I'm likely to be invited to Aus Day but can't do that or May as I'm away. So August will be my only shot at a ceremony before the year-long window post-approval expires. Sigh.

Applied online for mine (and family) on 11/9/16

After few weeks got the test dates

- oldest son 22/12/16

- myself 3/1/17

- wife 4/1/17

All applications were send the same day AND specifically asked to do everything together as a family.

Five minutes ago got an email from Dept.... :

"We regret to inform you that your previous citizenship appointment has been cancelled, due to staff availability.

We have rescheduled your appointment on:WHEN: 28/02/2017"

Can they just do this?

I was so looking forward to becoming a citizen, but it's starting to taste bittersweet ;-(

My oldest one is in uni and as long as he isn't a citizen he can't apply for a hex loan

Hi all,

Just adding my timeline here.

Online application sent: 21 Nov 2016

Status: Received

Preferred Test/Interview Location: Sydney CBD

Council: Georges River (Sydney South)

I haven't received any acknowledgment email and the money is pending on my account. I'll update when there's news and would appreciate similar timelines' input.

Also, has everyone received an acknowledgment email on the same day as when they applied? I haven't received anything at all and I'm not sure why. The site was a bit glitchy last night but the payment went through and the status changed from "Submitted" to "Received".

I received the acknowledgement email within half hour of submitting the application.

Have you tried to do one in Wellington street ? I was suppose to do mine 26/1/17 but would miss it due to work so they changed if for me.

they also offered 21/12/16.

i work fifo and explained I might miss the next few test dates

Hi All, the immigration requirement is "You must be in Australia when the department makes a decision about your application". when one can go overseas? does it mean one must not leave the country until ceremony is attended OR the application is approved and waiting on Ceremony. Cheers
