Juliaw151
Hi all! I have been working in nurseries full time since 2014 (bar 8 months that I spent in Australia and 3 months working with elderly people) i travelled to Australia on a WHV spent basically the entire time looking around as have always wanted to move out there. Am looking at possibly the 189 or the 190 visa. Would have a minimum of 60 points (providing my qualification can be recognised by acecqa), possibly 65 if I applied next year (would give me 5 extra points for extra time working in my field) Just wondering if anyone has similar experience? Or if anyone has a BTEC level 3 in children’s care learning and development and it was recognised by acecqa? There are BTEC level 3’s on the website as formerly recognised but none of them are my exact qualification.
cheese n pickle
Hi, have you checked if your job is on the skilled occupation list? https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/work/work/skills-assessment-and-assessing-authorities/skilled-occupations-lists/combined-stsol-mltssl I had a quick look but couldn't see Nursery worker. What ANZSCO code are you applying under?
VERYSTORMY
If you are applying under early years teacher, you will need a degree and that degree will need to be a 4 year degree, not the UK standard of 3. Or a degree and a post grad pgce.

Unfortunately this occupation is not on the list ( only a manager of a nursery ) I have level 5 advanced diploma in childcare which will be fine to work out there but not to be the main visa applicant. We are going on my partners job which is a plumber

What ANZSCO code are you applying under? No because the title is something different here than it is out there, I’m a qualified manager of a nursery with the qualifications that I have but they need to be formally assessed by acecqa, I would be going for early childhood teacher, which you can be certificate 3, or diploma educated it says. My colleague who has the same level as me has got hers assessed and she is certificate 3.

You're quite correct. 4 years study in total is required. However it looks like the OP has a 'BTEC level 3 in children’s care learning and development' which, sadly, is not a degree-level qualification, so is not sufficient for a successful skills assessment for the Early Childhood Educator occupation. I have done 4 years in total but still not a teaching degree so it doesn't count.
Bran
Early childhood educator is on the list it’s just that there are different names for it. It’s on the mltssl -code 24111 It’s important to remember that educator and teacher are two different terms in this context. The 24111 relates to teaching and does not involve ACECQA
Juliaw151
Hi everyone! No you’re all absolutely right been doing some research. Spoken to an agent as well and I can gain PR through the rsms/187 route under childcare group leader. I don’t NEED my qualifications assessed under this route but think I will apply to acecqa anyway as it would be good to know what my national diploma comes out as over there. CeltInCaulfield
Whilst this is potentially feasible, you must have a sponsor and pass a skills assessment, as far as I am aware? Happy, as always, to stand corrected.
