Can someone please clarify visa fees

I've just been informed on the phone from the European call centre as it appears I can't email my co with a few queries I have , and thought I'd just check what happens if I fail my Medical ( I've been asked to go back and see a rheumatologist for a report on my fibro) the hospital told me a Gp letter would be fine or Referal to nhs rumatologist but the email says panel physician , I wanted to make sure I was doing things right , was told hospital shouldn't of said that and I need to book panel physician

anyway I also asked about future visa fees to be told when I apply for the next pr visa it's going to cost an additional $7000 plus more for my children - I was sure I'd read differently to that?

Totally confused

If you are currently applying for the Spouse Visa, then there is only one lot of fees. You apply for the 100 at the same time as the 309, one fee for you ($7000) and a fee for each child ($1755). No further fees payable when the paperwork for the 100 goes in later.

https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa/fees#tab-content-3

Yet another reason not to believe what the call centre staff tell you.

I'm applying for the Pmv 300 , which looks to me the way I read it the $7000 etc would cover our visas and the next stage and we would then pay $1700 ish for the pr visa via the Pmv visa

they wouldn't help me contact my co said I had to go through them for any questions I had or upload questions on my application even though I wouldn't get a response if I did it that way!!

Sooooo frustrating

OK, in that case you need to look at a fee for the PMV ($7000 + $1755 per child) then once on Oz and married you apply for the 820/801

Look at the table, you will see there are two levels of fees for the 820/801 - the first is for people without a 300, the second line is for people already holding a 300 - ie, you. The fee there is $1170, plus $290 per child - that covers both 820 and 801.

It is very unlikely that the case officer would answer any of your questions as they are not there to guide you through the process. Their role is to assess the application against the relevant Regulations.

This is correct, you will not get a response to questions uploaded on your ImmiAccount.

If you fail your medicals, the visa application will be refused. If there are medical issues, you are best to obtain the services of an Agent who specialise in cases with medical complications, to guide you through the process.

I had a medical issue on my 309/100 application last year. The panel doc referred me to an endocrinologist for a consultants session, and they wrote to the panel doc who subsequently passed my medical. This was all achieved within a week, but perhaps I was lucky.

If you have a medical issue then you should speak with an agent such as George Lombard who specialises in visas with medical issues. If your visa is refused on medical grounds you do not get a refund.

I know I won't get a refund which is fine but a bit of correct info from the department to clarify the contradictory instructions from the hospital may be of some help

Please do not seek info from immigration departments, it is the worst place to try get clarity. You need to get clarity from a registered migration agent. Honestly that is the only place you can get the clarity (correct information).

The long and short of it is I just can't afford a migration agent - it appears the immigration departments are not the best places for info when you'd think they would be ?

You don't need to use an agent for the entire process. Just book a brief medical-related consultation, they will just charge you for that.

And TBH if you cannot even afford that you are going to struggle with the financial side of the entire process - migrating is very expensive.

I was about to say the same. If the cost of a consultation isn't affordable it's unlikely this person can afford to migrate.

Hi Duke that seems a high number from a low risk country, but admit is how you count the numbers. Ours was a bit more than that but was from a high risk and not my bio children.

Sounds perfectly reasonable for a family of three relocating from the UK. Cost of visas, medicals, pcc etc etc. Then flights, shipping and setting uin a new country with a car, new furniture, rental and utility deposits. Just have a read of some of the threads on here that break down the cost.

I can't afford one for the whole process- I hadn't realised you can do it the way you have suggested so I will look into that ?? We do have everything else covered though shipping flights etc

Many agents appreciate that the cost is high and so will break down their advice into what you want/need. Give it a try :)
