No entry/exit stamp - Autralian PR first entry

Hi,

I was granted Australian PR this year and am supposed to make my first entry before March next year. I did make an entry (and an exit) a few weeks ago. However I did not get either entry nor exit stamps on my passport during that trip. I'm concerned as there is no way in which I can be sure that my visa has been successfully validated, so I wont have any peace of mind the next time I travel to Australia (b'coz I'm planning to travel next AFTER my "first entry date").

Is it normal during recent times to have NO ENTRY/EXIT STAMPS on the passport? (possibly because all records are maintained electronically)?

Please let me know!

So my parents got their PR visas and have now been in Australia for 2 years. They want to travel overses for about an year. Planning to leave in March 2018. Is there any procedure that they need to follow? Their PR visa was granted in 2015. Their first entry to Australia was in Jan 2016. I think they have 5 years from the date of entry. Please can you confirm if my understanding is correct?

Thank You

If the visas were granted in 2015 they should be valid for travel until 2020 (eg if granted March 2015 they are valid till March 2020, if granted in June, valid till June etc). The date should be on their grant notice.  If they are going back to oz in 1919 they are fine to return on their existing visas.

5 years from date of grant not first entry.  If they wish to return after that they can apply for an RRV.
