Cut off date for EOI before next round?

Yes. They have been inviting 70 points and almost caught up with back log. There are people reporting getting invites with EOI date in late October. You may not get it this round but good chance for next round. We may even see a few 65 points in next round unless they drop the invite numbers again like last year.

Claiming partner points on SA 190

I have now spoken to SA migration and they have agreed that with a valid UK passport the English test is not required for the partner skills.
  3. Hi everybody. I have searched the threads and not found what I’m looking for so thought I would ask. Has anyone recently claimed partner points on a SA 190 state nomination application. If yes did you need to provide English test for partner even though it states uk citizens don’t need to provide English test. Thanks steve

with this being a new scheme offered you should have a good chance of being picked up for it as numbers are likly to still be low at present for applications

    189 Processing Time for 70pts

You should be good in that case, There has been issues reported lately where when ACS do a skills assessment they discount the first 2-3 years of experience as training time. Seen as you have a successful skills assessment prior to gaining the diploma you should be good to claim all the points as you have said. ACS can be a tricky authority that's all,

    189 Processing Time for 70pts

Hi Paul, What qualification was your skills assessment based on prior to getting your diploma?

SkillSelect invitation rounds and 189 Visa

There are two main categories. Those being pro-rate occupations and the others non pro-rata. Pro-rata occupations are controlled due to lower demand where the number of invites are split over the year. Non-pro-rata are purely based on where you are in the list. The more points you have the higher up the list you are. Any two EOI with the same points are then ranked on effective date ( date EOI lodgement/amendment). At present there is a back log of EOI meaning the last time a 60 points EOI for non-pro-Rata was a effective date of 21st June. The last 65 point date was about 27th September. I hope this makes sense.

189 visa - skilled employment assessment

I have just had my skills assessment back from Engineers Australia through the Washington accord pathway. I paid for fast track and it took only 14 days total. Regarding skills assessment its is best to have Engineers Australia do an assessment at the same time as the skills assessment and then back this up with pay slips, contracts, P60's etc. for visa when invited to apply as you say the important thing is confirming the relevance of the employment to the nominated occupation. DIBP will consider the outcome of the work experience assessment by Engineers Australia as strong advice and require less convincing of the fact by yourself for points claims.

    November invitation rounds

Am I right in thinking that there should be another invitation round on 1st Nov. The border website has not released the results from the 18th October one and not showing the next rounds yet? normally they are up by now aren't they?
