losing hope every day of something before Xmas shut down

Hang in there Jenny1985, it’s not too far. I respect the frustration we all have. If we take a little step back and look around there’s always more out there for all of us in life.

Until then let’s hope yours and all of us golden emails come through soon!

Go to 187 visa thread, you will console yourself. People are waiting from 20 months and over. Mine is already 15 months, good organisation still no regard.

Hi Everyone,

Need some advice. My nomination is approved and my visa application status is currently further assessment. I have been asked for documents twice and I submitted new NZ police clearance 3 weeks back. No update since then. My medical will expire 12 months window on 1st Jan. Do you think CO can ask for a new medical or should I just wait - assuming I don't hear from them until the new year? It has been already 4 months since nomination approved.

Thanks for your input.

I used to agree with your preference...until we (me and wife) had to go through medicals and PCCs two times already and we'll likely have to go for a third time (last medicals expired a few weeks ago).

And we both hate needles and my wife has the habit to faint...so this time we will not do anything unless personally escorted to the medicals and comforted while there by the Co. Including kiss on the boo-boo once done, to make it go away.

Thing is, each case is a story on its own and each applicant should evaluate their priorities (possible extra cost vs possible extra delay).

@boo-yaa method is likely the safest and most balanced bet and would suggest new applicants to follow something close to it if in doubt.

Lion u hav any idea why they make u wait so long. Hav they req u any documents for ur file

Yes, absolutely - all you need to do is apply for a new medical from the immi account, meaning you'd get a new HAP ID.

You would then go into Bupa with this, and tell them about your application. Not only should they update your personal account with the medicals, but your application as well.
- This is the route we were going to go.

The alternative, is to wait for the CO and let them give you a new HAP ID (which they get the same way).

Hi Hex,

Sorry to ask for this stupid question. Do you know how I can apply a new hap ID since my medical check has been expired and I already submitted my 186 application? I tried to google about it but it seems like if the application already submitted, only CO can provide new hap ID. Thank you very much.

@Newday We would have done it through our Immi account (new application --> health declaration).

Hi,

The general rule for case officers is that they do not ope your case for another 28 days following document request. Looking at your signature your case officer has followed this rule although it took you almost a further month to supply the second piece requested.

I think you should hear before Christmas.

I have this theory that case officers will want to clear the backlog of "open" cases before they break for the festive period,

That's just my personal theory.

Hey,

If you already have done a medical then you do not need a new HAP ID - you will already have one. Have a look at your medical paperwork from the first time round.

@Bellabonkers Are you sure on this? I was told that you need a new HAP ID for the new set of medicals.

You would then simply update your application with that new HAP ID?

Hi Hex,

Thanks for your reply, but I cant find 186 in the visa option under visa subclass. Should I just choose 189 and go for medical checks?

Hi Bellabinkers,

yes, I have the existing Hap ID, but i think we need new Hap ID for new medical set. Thanks

Hi,

I just had to complete an updated medical (last week) I did not need a new HAP ID they use your old one- they even have your file with the picture they took from the previous medical- all information is the same they just refresh the medical part if that makes sense.

I did it literally last week- and I used the same HAP ID to book medical ect

Our nomination was approved last Wednesday. Immi status still says Reveived so we’re hoping our application will be looked at any day now.

I contacted our MA on Monday left a voicemail but she only emailed me back today.

Her email said  basically ... it still says Received at the moment they may ask for more Uk police checks as they expired in November 2018

Question 1: we haven’t been back to England since Feb 2017 so will they ask for updated ones???

She also said ...our Australian police checks run out 30th Jan 2019, so they might ask for new ones of those too??

Question 2: Why they are still valid?

Then she finished the email off with .. Hope you have a lovely Christmas!

@Newday

If Bellabonkers did this last week only, I would then go with this route. It actually sounds way easier and quicker anyway.

Hi,

you shouldn’t have to re do police checks for the UK if you haven’t been back.

My partner and I didn’t have to get ours re done and ours were done in Feb 2017- the case officer simply asked for our AFP and updated medicals (all were done around Feb 2017)

1. This is entirely up to the CO, they may and they may not, unfortunately - I don't think anyone can give you an exact answer on this.
- Typically, they allow about a 3 month window, after expiry, however, there have been many cases where new files are requested only weeks after expiring.

2. I assume she says this, worrying that the CO might only review your visa after 30 Jan 2019. If they are still valid at the time of viewing, there is no reason to re-do them.

In saying that, I typically follow what my MA suggests and they are paid to "know better" right? 🙂

@Hex @Newday AFAIK HAP ID generated once when you lodge and you can not generate a new one. My wife passport expired while we were waiting and MA said we can not regenerate HAP ID and in Bupa they said it's ok as passport update attached in the case even if HAP ID with old details. I think it's just a reference to the case, not really for examination itself.

@itbk This is completely possible, however, off my own personal experience.

The CO gave us a new HAP ID for a new medical that was requested for both my children (they each got their own, new ID). Regardless, when in doubt, trust the MA 🙂

Application should be "decision-ready", other than for the possibility that they will now ask again for medicals and police checks...and maybe even wife's IELTS as that's expired too by now.

Probably we had such a long wait because the nomination was originally refused. Approved then through appeal.

My calculations says that, considering the current processing times, I should be out of the deadline around May-ish (this excluding the time spent with the nomination frozen for the appeal).
AH! Still remember when I originally submitted my application...the processing time was something like 4-6 months back by then...
