Got a note from my MA asking me to open and send through my partner's police check (stated do not open before requested by immigration when initially received).  MA stated that this means that my case is now allocated to a case officer.  However, my application still states 'received' on the immi account and no 'information requested' or 'assessment in progress'.  Does anyone know why that would be?

Thanks,

I hope they are using 457 visa priority processing here.

Applications under the following category are processed first and the remaining in regular timelines.

  • New streamlined processing arrangements for positon nomination applications (but not visa applications) which meet the following salary and skill thresholds:
    • the occupation is classified as Skill Level 1 or 2 by the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO), and either:
    • the base salary is at least the Fair Work High Income Threshold (AUD136,700 at 1 July 2015) or
    • the base salary is at least AUD75,000 and the position is not in one of the following occupations: recruitment consultant, sales representative (industrial products), customer service manager, corporate general manager, procurement manager, quality assurance manager, sales and marketing manager, specialist manager NEC (not elsewhere classified), hotel/motel manager, contract administrator, and information and organization professionals NEC.

What do you say guys?

Hey Everyone,

I applied in March and am impatiently waiting like you all. I am onshore applied through transition from 457. Just have a question that maybe one of you can help me with. One of the requirements for the 186 visa is that we have 2 years work guaranteed from our employer. I have a contract up until Sept 2019. Does this mean that if my application does not get looked at before then I wont meet the requirements and my application could be rejected? My MA said this was a possibility but another MA told me not to worry that none of her clients have ever been refused for contract length. As you all know we cant help but worry especially with how slow approvals are at the moment. What do you guys think? Have you heard of anyone being refused for this?

Thanks for sharing Praveen, where did you see that? Does this apply to 186 TRT?

I'm sales and marketing manager eligible to apply for TRT in a few weeks. I'm close to earning AUD136700, does that mean that if I get pay rise to 136700 by time I apply that mine will be processed faster?

Does base salary for immi count in superannuation or not?

Does anyone have experience with a bridging visa B (will allow me to travel overseas) while waiting for PR? Will that delay or negatively affect my DE 186 application?

Same as you :-/

PR applied after nomination approved: 12/05/16

457 Visa Expires: 22/08/17

Medical Exame Expires: 10/07/17

Travel booked: 02/08/17 return 19/09/2017 (after 457 expires)

I'll be waiting util first week of July, if is no answer for 186, I will apply for BVB and remake the exames. -Immi said it is take 2 weeks for an answer of BVB and I think this not influence in others applications. Usually they'll give the Visa to travel for 3 months or the exactly time of your trip.

Anyway, good luck for all of us ;-)

That's how I understand this - would be curious about the super question as well.

I am currently in the process applying for BVB for business reasons - I do not think it would negatively impact the process.

Please check this link http://www.ey.com/gl/en/services/people-advisory-services/hc-alert--australia-opens-priority-processing-of-subclass-457-visa-applications-to-more-businesses-as-of-1-july-2016

I hope they are following this for 186 as well. And note that this is just a guess and I am not sure on this.
