This link covers this question in the FAQ, doesn't specifically state they wouldn't cancel a visa for it, but says unless there was fraud it would be unlikely.

Personally, I think you're sponsoring employer would have to Lodge a complaint for any action to be taken. So you should try leave on good terms I reckon.

this is on the same line:

Quote

"

The answer depends. If you applied for the 186 without a genuine intention to work for your employer for the full 2-year period, and it is determined that the application was made with fraudulent or misleading claims, then you can lose your 186.

However, if the application was made on genuine grounds, but the employment relationship has subsequently broken down, or ended due to the nature of normal staff turnover (or other standard employment issues) then your 186 will continue without any problems.

Once your 186 visa is granted, you have full permanent residency rights and therefore have no enforceable obligation that prevents you from changing your employer or your role. Generally speaking, the Department is unlikely to cancel your visa if you change employers unless you have provided false or misleading information in your visa application (as previously mentioned). It is also important to keep in mind that both you and your employer must comply with applicable Australian workplace and employment laws throughout your employment."

The article seems to suggest that if you have legitimate reason for leaving... as long as you did not plan this while you were applying for the Visa aka 2 years back ...
can somebody provide some actual examples where things went south?

Any Migration agents here that could comment on this?

Well, I have been waiting for more than 18 months now, and every time I have called the department to ask about my application progress (mentioning I am well past the processing times), I’ve been given the generic answer « 10% of the applications are processed outside of the processing times so all you can do is wait ». Or in other words « we can’t be bothered looking into your file even though you’ve been waiting for ages, and we’ll just grant some other PRs, but not yours at the moment, don’t ask why ».

Today a nice operator actually looked into my file and told me they are « considering » (not sure what it means) my application at the moment and they can’t comment about why it is taking so long. Also, unless your waiting time is TWICE the maximum processing time, they can’t escalate the file to the processing team. So in the case of a DE application, unless you’ve been waiting 26 months without being contacted, all you can do is wait. Escalating it earlier than these 26 months would just result in the file being de-escalated because they have to follow the protocol.

I had never been given this figure before, so I’m just dropping this piece of info for those who have been waiting for a long time (and who have likely applied for one of these unwanted occupations). Looks like there actually IS a light at the end of the 26 months tunnel!

I have noticed when I look at the attached spreadsheet timeline for each month and scroll up to the white section (people who are still waiting) it seems to be a lot of similar professions that are waiting to be approved for example heaps of marketing specialists every month.

Is there different weight placed on the perceived "importance" of skills? Or is it just that you they seem to do different professions in blocks e.g all Chefs together?

I am applying as advertising specialist. Which i guess is similar to marketing specialist? I am on the old grandfathering scheme... I don't believe that you can apply as an advertising specialist anymore so im worried I could get forgotten! Any other Advertising Specialists out there?

If you are sponsored by a small company you have to buckle up for a long ride. I am just being left behind at this stage as a March applicant. I believe that all "forgotten" marketing specialist have been nominated by small firms. I would wonder if there are any still waiting who are sponsored by big company.

Hi Tocsa - I'm a forgotten Accountant, also from March'18 (I'm guessing you are 2018 as well? Your signature doesn't mention it) and DE, offshore like you. My sponsoring company is large but not a corporate giant like Deloitte, PwC, etc. However, hang in there! You're not alone 🙂

Today i checked my application via immi account. I noticed that MA didn't upload any payslip, form 80 , reference letter, education history and payg summary. He just attached english test, passport, Police check of every country and thats all. Do you guys think thats alright. By the way, my MA is one of the top agent/company in Melbourne.

@w3nep i suggest to talk to your MA about it directly. An honest conversation won't hurt.

Yes got the same answer last week! They said “ when its far outside of the processing times”, I asked them what is far? 8 months seems pretty far, but they said also double. So yes, 6 more months to go !!!!!

Look on the positive side! Further assessment is better than Received!

But sometimes its just similar to received as I have been on this further assessment status from 6/12/17. Sometimes I feel like calling immigration and asking them if they need any help reading or understanding my docs as to me my case is pretty simple.
A dental clinic with 3 dentists 1 practice manager 6 dental assistant and 1 dental technician (me). 6 of the staff members are Australian citizens, 2 permanent residents, 1 temporary resident (me) and 1 student visa holder. Whereas in 2015 business sponsored our practice manager and she got her pr in 5months now Here I am. I applied on 11/5/17.... been asked docs twice, once on 19/10/17and 2nd on 22/11/17...last submitted on 6/12/17 and since then I am struck on this further assessment status.....every time I call them they say its under processing....but I don’t get what the hell have they been processing on this file... looks like have sent it to mars to get processed. Every time I called they either said waiting for the CO to be allocated (i have always called them after submitting the asked docs) but still they were waiting it to be allocated. Then once they said oh you have called Team A but your case is forwarded to team B so please call this xxxxxx no. since then they have been saying looks like they have been working on your file as I can see someone looked into it last month, last week blah blah ..... when they say working on it, I feel like asking that ARE THEY MAKING TAJ MAHAL ON IT [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23].... well sorry to vent out like this on your comment but writing all this has made bit lighter [emoji4][emoji4]

My MA doesn’t want to write an email to immigration and I don’t have any direct contact no. Or email for the case officer....I just know her name that too cause she called my work on 22/11/17 to talk to my boss and as receptionist was not around, I happened to answer her call... she told me her name and asked for my boss...I said he is not in..May I know where are you calling from... she said calling from department of immigration... I said if it’s anything urgent you can let me know and I will pass on the msg...she said no it’s something confidential...she will call his mobile...and then before hanging she asked Do you have someone working named xxxxxxx?? ....that’s when I realised that the call is regarding my case ... I said yes... she said Thanks....then she called my boss and confirmed few details and later that day MA sent a msg asking for more docs as she requested further information....... Maybe I have not bought any champagne or scotch bottle in advance that’s why they have not given me a chance to celebrate...I will go buy one this weekend and keep it for celebration day [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]....initially I was upset and anxious 24x7 then just few hours a day ....now its once in a week I think about PR as no point wasting our precious life on WHAT, WHEN and WHY.... just chill and enjoy [emoji4][emoji4]

Hi all,

Yesterday I received an email by the CO asking for Skill assessment, work reference, PTE to release the score for my husband as he is the main applicant (already submitted in first instance the application was lodged) and birth certificates for my children. While it comes to a surprise to me that they are still asking for documents already submitted my question is in regard of PTE. How can I contact PTE to release results? Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Eva

Did your boss give you a reason for ending your employment with the company?

The 186 Visa process is on the basis that the employer is offering the position for 2 years - so I assume it will be impossible for you to get the 186 visa under that employer.
