  1. Well, I have been waiting for more than 18 months now, and every time I have called the department to ask about my application progress (mentioning I am well past the processing times), I’ve been given the generic answer « 10% of the applications are processed outside of the processing times so all you can do is wait ». Or in other words « we can’t be bothered looking into your file even though you’ve been waiting for ages, and we’ll just grant some other PRs, but not yours at the moment, don’t ask why ». Today a nice operator actually looked into my file and told me they are « considering » (not sure what it means) my application at the moment and they can’t comment about why it is taking so long. Also, unless your waiting time is TWICE the maximum processing time, they can’t escalate the file to the processing team. So in the case of a DE application, unless you’ve been waiting 26 months without being contacted, all you can do is wait. Escalating it earlier than these 26 months would just result in the file being de-escalated because they have to follow the protocol. I had never been given this figure before, so I’m just dropping this piece of info for those who have been waiting for a long time (and who have likely applied for one of these unwanted occupations). Looks like there actually IS a light at the end of the 26 months tunnel!
  2. 457 visas usually are for a duration of 4 years Edit: sorry he did mention his visa was for a duration of 18 months (which is weird, I’ve never heard of a 18 months 457)
  3. I guess the department must be very proud to show off these (biased) statistics, while some 2017 applications are utterly left behind
  4. If you apply through TRT stream, yes. If you apply through DE, just the year prior to the application
  5. Did they ask for additional or updated documents before approving the nomination? Almost 2 years to have the nomination approved, that’s so unfair. Hold tight mate, your golden email will arrive soon!
  6. It might be your imagination but it actually does make a lot of sense when I think about it this way...
  7. Thanks for the info, we both are in a very similar situation so I’ll keep watching how your situation is evolving
  8. Almost 2 years and no news whatsoever, I feel you mate... the way they are processing applications makes no sense at all - some Restaurant manager members who applied 1 year after you got their PR granted last week. Same occupation, same stream and same country risk. But PR in less than a year. I’m happy for them but it’s unbelievable how some other applicants can be left aside. It really is a game of luck - the luck of having one’s application assigned quickly and the luck of having a CO that doesn’t request too much extra documentation. It looks like they are now processing some restaurant managers applications (finally), stay put, hopefully you’ll hear from them soon.
  9. Congratulations mate!!! Was it TRT application? Did your MA have a direct contact to IMMI or did they just send a general enquiry?
  10. Good on you mate, more than half of the job done! Still, I don’t understand how come you got your nomination appeoved after 11 months and I still haven’t heard anything at all after nearly 17 months... it just makes no sense. What state are you in?
  11. Contacting IMMI is of no use. Even though I am now past processing times, the only answer you get is « 10% of the applications take longer than the suggested processing times. We cannot track your application, all you can do is keep waiting »...
  12. I reckon that’s a really bad move from the immigration, I don’t recall seeing anywhere on their website that documents for the nomination expire after 2 years. What occupation did she apply for?
