Hi Louise. I'm a health visitor. We went to Adelaide last year, loved it there but unfortunately child health nurse jobs don't come up there very often. I emailed someone from SA health last week, as we're moving there in June, and was told that there weren't any future positions planned at present. I may look to go elsewhere. I did my nurse training and went straight into health visiting, so I can't go back into clinical/acute nursing. If you're more clinical, I'd stick with that, much more opportunities.

Hi. I had my visa granted in a December 2016. I am a children's nurse/ HV. I did the process myself, in honestly with help from here and the ANMAC/AHPRA sites. The main thing is that you must be degree educated as AHPRA won't register you if you're diploma educated. I found the process very easy however I am a very straightforward case of a nurse, husband, 2 kids, 60 points. I think most emigration agencies offer a free consultation. I have heard very good things, from a different site, about Leanne Stevens from Emergico.

Hi, yes we did. 16 year old and 13 year old. Got a police check for my 16 year old but not the 13 year old. That's very odd, must be a mistake. I'd just get them for them adults.

We had our 189 granted in a December. We didn't get any of the documents certified for uploading, we just uploaded colour scans. This included passports, marriage certificate, birth certificates, skills assessment confirmation, uni transcripts. We had no issues.

We had our medicals done at Spire in Cardiff back in October. Very straight forward. Results were uploaded the following week. They were very nice there :rolleyes:

This got me really stressed when I was doing it and I couldn't find much information. Mine was quite basic in the end. I work as a health visitor, so just bullet pointed what my role involves, I.e new birth visits, clinics, developmental reviews. I listed about 25 things in the end. Not sure if you've seen this- it breaks down what you need. AHPRA application wasn't as bad as I thought. We're planning on doing this. I'm going with my daughter and my husband and son are coming about a month later :cool:

We started the process to apply for a visa, e.g IELTS, skills assessment, AHPRA and then my daughter was placed on a waiting list for a minor heart op. We decided not to apply until she'd had the operation, in case she failed the medical, based on that she was awaiting treatment. You could always put in EOI, wait to be invited and then you've got 60 days to apply for the visa. Hopefully then his op will be done and he'll be on his way in his recovery. Then there could be another month to book medicals. Or you can contact a migration agent now for advice?

Does anyone know if your Immi account shows whether your medical has been referred to MOC? My family's medicals were uploaded last Thursday and all had the same message 'health clearance provided-no action required' however my daughter, at the end of September, had an operation to correct a heart arrhythmia, which was successful but the panel doctor said he may have to refer to MOC. Does this message mean it hasn't been referred or do you not know it's been referred until CO tells you or makes some form of contact? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks :smile:

Fab news for all those getting their grants. Our medicals were uploaded yesterday, this was the last part to be completed, so the waiting begins properly for us now :wub:

My AHPRA was processed very quickly in June this year. I sent docs off 1st June (from UK) to Adelaide office, it was received mid June, AHPRA granted 29th June. Caught me off guard as I now need to present by 29th June 2017 and we were planning on going at the end of the school year 2017 :wub:

Hi, We are coming over next June (pending visa approval) and have 2 dogs, who will be 13 and 15 and a half. We worried whether it was the best thing but felt they would be more stressed with us suddenly disappearing from their lives than the flight and quarantine. Luckily they're 'sun' dogs and love the sun, so hoping they will enjoy their final years, in the sun :cool:

You need Fit2work for Ahpra. There is a section on the AHPRA application form which asks for a reference number which you are given when you apply.

Hi, Sorry, I'm not sure about the uploading of the documents as I am at the same stage as you, and I'm not too sure what to do yet as I am going to start uploading this weekend. However when I tried to print out my referral letter it wouldn't work so I changed my browser from Firefox to Chrome and it worked. I have no idea why though!

Hi, We paid for our visa on Saturday, medicals booked for 27th October. We are going to upload everything else this weekend. Hoping to have visa before New Year, so we can put our house up for sale in January, so we can hopefully move in June 2017. Exciting times! When are you hoping to move ? :cool:

I think it's valid for 2 years? Does it say on the email version of your LOD? I had my LOD in June and have only just put in EOI as my daughter was awaiting an operation. Hope you get better soon :rolleyes:

Mine took just under 3 weeks. That was in June this year. It was processed really quick!

Also if you do top up to a degree you need to do IELTS first, then apply for a skills assessment with ANMAC (ANMAC requires you to have 7's or above in each section and I think they're allowing this over 2 sittings now) and then apply for EOI/visa. Your registration is with AHPRA (NMC equivalent) not ANMAC. Good luck!

Thanks George. We didn't want to go for the medical to find she fails it as she is actively awaiting treatment. The prognosis is good, there's an above 90% success rate for cardiac catheter ablation, which if it works means she's cured, so no future costs. She's not on any medication and is unlikely she will need to be. Hopefully we'll be okay!

Hi. I'm hoping someone can help. If my 13 year old daughter is currently on the waiting list for a minor operation to correct a heart arrhythmia, would she fail the medical required for migration to Australia? Or would she pass as long as she had the operation before we went? Would the medical be passed if we agreed to that? Thanks :frown:
