  1. Hello fellow nurses. I have a nice clear document from Ahpra on how documents need to be certified to their standards....ANMAC's is not so clear! My uni transcripts are 63 pages long and I need 2 sets certifying ( Ahpra and ANMAC). Does the notary need to certify ' I certify that this is true copy etc etc etc' with profession, date contact details etc on every SINGLE page or just certify on the final page? ANMAC's website states each document needs to be certified, so are my transcripts classed as one documents. It's not very clear or is it just me??? Hope this makes sense. Thanks!
  2. Thank you Louloubelle and samjwilli. I'd understand if I lived in a non English speaking country. Time to contact uni.....again x
  3. Hi. Sorry to jump on thread but I am confused. I have my transcripts to send to Ahpra and I have completed the academic ielts which I will send a copy of also. Do I also need my uni to send a letter confirming that my course was OBVIOUSLY taught in English if it doesn't state this with the transcripts they have already sent me? Thanks
  4. Thanks for the reply. This whole process is giving me lots of grey hairs!
  5. Wow, this is really helpful! Did you have to send off any copies (certified) of the clinical procedural skills you have listed. I know that probably sounds silly but who know what they want!
  6. Me too but for nursing. I think I'm doing okay and then something else crops up making everything very stressful again, hence this blooming CV. Took me almost 2 hours yesterday for Fit2Wok. I am really fed up. Good luck physio26!
  7. Hi. Sorry another question. Once you've been invited to apply for a visa (189), how do you do this, i.e in proving your points? Do you have to upload and complete documents etc like for the skills assessment or is it just medicals, police checks, form 80 and that's it? Just checking that I don't need to get anything else certified by the notary. Thanks
  8. Thanks. I did email my local magistrates court looking for a JP, but they rudely never replied!
  9. Thanks. I have found a notary for the same price. Just hope the 1/2 hour he quoted me is enough given how many pages there are in my transcripts
  10. Hi. Anyone able to help please? I am getting all my documents together for Anmac and Ahpra. 1) Do I need to send my uni transcripts to Ahpra? 2) Do the transcripts need to be signed by the notary. If so, is that every page as there is a lot of pages and I can foresee a huge bill for this! Or do they just stamp every page and then sign, date etc on the last page. Thanks.
  11. Thanks! Good luck. I am just trying to keep my options open as the child and family health nurse jobs are so sparce. I don't mind starting at the bottom, the bottom end of a nursing salary in Australia is good compared to UK.
  12. Thanks! I have already emailed SA Health and they have given me a contact within the women's and children division.
  13. Thanks for your reply. I am unable to convert in the UK, I wouldn't be able to afford it at present and would't be able to give up my current job and I have already started my ANMAC assessment under child and family health nurse.
  14. Does anyone know if/how these work in Australia? I am a children's nurse (degree) and work as a health visitor (pgd at masters). Hoping to move to Adelaide but there are never any child and family health nurse jobs advertised. I was thinking about maybe re-training as a mental health nurse as I have gained lots of experience of this through health visiting. Do Australian universities offer a conversion course, which is hopefully shorter than a standard degree. I have had a look at the Flinders website but it is a bit confusing. Any ideas anyone?? Thanks.
  15. Thank you. He was looking at jobs the other night, no necessarily in what he does now, but just jobs local to that area. There were a few around so as long as he gets a job he'll be happy.
  16. Thank you for your information. My husband isn't really fussed about what job he gets, just as long as he gets one. Hopefully you've had more luck in Melbourne.
  17. Thanks Pat. That is really helpful and would be perfect as is right by where we would like to live
  18. That is good news. I noticed that you're hoping to end up in SA. That is where we're hoping to go too.
  19. Hi Jessica. He works in steel re-bar. Not really too sure how to describe it but he makes the steel which goes into houses, roads etc (I think..ha).
  20. I am jealous at those results. I got S-9, R-9, L-8, W-7.5. Gutted I missed out by 0.5 but I knew I had messed up the writing as I panicked. Oh, well. I have enough for my ANMAC assessment and I'll book myself in for the General test at the end of April and hope I get all 8's then. I've read that the General is easier in the writing section. The Australia dream is a little closer . Good luck everyone else!
  21. Thanks for all your replies
  22. Hi Patch. Sorry to hear that you didn't get what you needed. I understand what you mean, I found the reading section so hard as everyone kept turning the pages of their booklets constantly and it was really distracting and I just couldn't concentrate. There must have been in excess of 50 people. I have been looking into the Pearsons test also, but I can only do Ielts for my skills assessment but might try that for points. Good luck with it! Let me know how it compares to Ielts.
  23. Hi. Hopefully this is really straightforward to answer. If we sell our UK property before moving to Australia (house would not have been let out at any point and is our only home and main residence ) and then transfer the profit we have to an Australian bank, currently at £ 170k so quite a large amount, with that money only then being used for a deposit on a home in Australia, do we pay any tax on this in Australia, e.g CGT? Thanks.
  24. Hi Patch. How did your results go? I get mine Friday. Overall found the whole day very stressful, I don't know if I could go through it again!
  25. We are just at the start of the emigration process having just returned from Adelaide in Feb after staying with friends who emigrated out there in 2014. We loved it there and would love to move there however are really concerned about the job situation, especially for my husband who has been in the same job for 16 years but has no qualifications. Also my job equivalent from the UK, is a Child and Family Health Nurse, and these roles are rarely advertised Adelaide way. It's such a difficult to decision to make, to travel the other side of the world with no jobs to an economy (in SA) which appears to be struggling
