  1. Hi, For anyone applying for ANMAC, I sent off my application via Royal Mail tracked on 1st June, I had an email from ANMAC on 15th June to say they had received my documents. I had a further email from them on 23rd June to say that the assessment was in the 'final stages of review' and I had an email overnight with my LOD for a postive skills asessment. Not sure if this is normal but appears to be very quick! Hopefully for those waiting, it won't be too long a wait :cute:
  2. Thanks. It got scanned yesterday as arrived in Sydney. Now to wait for it to get to Canberra.
  3. Ah okay, thanks, a bit like Royal mail here then. I thought I had edited this post but it hasn't changed it..never mind. Thanks, for the reassurance.
  4. Has anyone had an issues with sending international post? I sent my ANMAC and AHPRA via International tracked through the UK Post Office on Wednesday 1st June, both were scanned as on their way to Melbourne and Sydney on 2nd June. One went to Melbourne and then onto AHPRA in Adelaide where I addressed it to go. This was scanned as in Melbourne on 5th June and received by AHPRA on 8th June. My ANMAC, which was addressed to go to Canberra, but on its way to Sydney, as I assume it is the nearest sorting centre, still just says that it is on its way to Sydney and has been this way for a werk now.
  5. Thanks. My COGS was only sent on Thursday despite me asking originally on the 10th April, so I have a good few weeks yet
  6. Hi. I sent off ANMAC and AHPRA on Wednesday. I'm not that fussed about how long AHPRA takes but could people let me know how long their ANMAC assessment took please, from it being received to LOD. Thanks :cute:
  7. Sorry, didn't realise. Wish I was where you are! I was just reading that on another thread, it is very frustrating...more money, more stress. Better be worth it in the end.
  8. That's a shame. Most UK nurses/ midwives will not be double trained let alone triple. Their loss. Good luck. You can always look elsewhere as I think Victoria is the only state that requires midwife/nurse qualifications for the maternal and child health nurse.
  9. I have just phoned the NMC and mine was apparently completed yesterday however can now take up to 3 weeks to get there. Any luck on yours?
  10. Just a thought but as a HV you're classed as a 'Specialist Community Public Health Nurse' Does this count as a nurse or does Victoria want an original nursing degree e.g adult/child? I am a HV and had to exclude Victoria as I am not a midwife but child trained along with my HV post grad.
  11. In the U.K you can train to be either a midwife or nurse. You don't have to be a nurse to be a midwife. Some midwives are also nurses as they most likely trained as a nurse and then completed a conversion course to midwifery, although I don't think these courses are as easily available as they used to be.
  12. The English test lasts 2 years (I think). You have more than enough time to figure out what to do. That's why it's taken over 3 months for me to get everything sorted and sent as there was so much to figure out what to do. I have a dog to ship over also. I've been talking to her about moving and telling her what's going to happen ha ha. Good luck with it!
  13. http://www.anmac.org.au/sites/default/files/documents/ANMAC_application_info_FULL_0.pdf Here's the link for what is needed for the skills assesment.
  14. Depending on exchange rate, skills assessment was 590 dollars and AHPRA was 520 dollars ( roughly). It is a very expensive process. Not sure about the visa as not there yet. I have a hubby and 2 kids and think it'll be around £4500
  15. That's good! There's a link that I found a few months ago which gave all the information about what was needed for skills assessment. Bear with me and I'll find it for you as it really helped me. You need a reference from your line manager for the skills assessment, so I guess they'll need to know quite soon. I think the first thing is to book your English exam as you can't apply for skills assessment without this. Whilst doing this you can get all your documents up together for AHPRA and ANMAC. I did the Ielts test. You need to do the Academic version and get 7's in each section. Others have done PTE but I don't know anything about this. How many points have you got as you can get extra from the English test. 7's in all sections gives you 10 points. 8's or above in all sections gives you 20 points.
  16. Ah nice and easy then, I am a nurse also. I sent off all my docs yesterday for the skills assessment and AHPRA( Australia equivalent of NMC)but it's taken a while. You definitely need a skills assessment, this is through ANMAC but you need to do the English test first before applying. Also, are you degree trained as AHPRA aren't registering nurses unless degree trained?
  17. We returned at the end of Feb and immediately began the process of applying. Which occupation are you applying under? Everyone (I think) applying for skilled visa, 189/190 need a skills assessment and some also need you to prove your English language ability through a test i.e Ielts or PTE-A.
  18. I am in the same boat too with NMC. I requested the info online on 10th April, received the application pack 13 days later, sent this off immediately, NMC cashed my cheque on 30th April and nothing has still been sent. I phoned last Friday, spoke to the Verification team and like you Priscilla was told it was on her desk and would be sent this week....not so sure now!
  19. The whole process is confusing! I think I have read both about having documents certified or being sent directly but on the ANMAC checklist it doesn't request that these are sent direct from University like it does with the IELTS results or NMC information.
  20. Sorry, didn't know whether to post in health or migration section. Feel free to move. So, we have just started the process of emigrating, I have just got all my bits together for skills assessment with ANMAC. My daughter has an arrhythmia problem which has caused her no problems until midway way through getting all this started, i.e paid and sat ielts, paid for skills assessment etc. I been advised today that she needs a minor op, waiting list is 3-6 months. How long does the skills assessment (if positive), last for? As I have paid and everything is ready to go, I am worried about completing this but not being able to put in EOI until after op, which could be October/November, then waiting to be invited. Will/does the skills assessment become invalid? Thanks.
  21. I did the Academic test as I needed this for my skills assessment. I got R- 9, L-8, S-9, W- 7.5 I am doing the general test on Saturday as still 10 points short. I'm just going to try and be as relaxed as possible and try not to PANIC!!!
  22. Good luck. I am re-doing mine this Saturday also. Fingers crossed for a positive result!
  23. Thanks. I'll try to stop worrying about this whole process, if that's possible
  24. Sorry, one more question...how long did it take for the NMC to email you after completing the online form for overseas veriification for the letter of good standing. I did mine last Sunday (10th) and still nothing. Is this normal? Thanks!
  25. I thought I'd read it somewhere, I think you answered some of my questions then so thanks very much
