Even though I've done my job (production manager) for 19 years, I don't hold any qualifications. That's the reason why I've been just sending my CV's to as many companies as possible.

Came very close to a 457 sponsorship job last month, if it wasn't for the current manager having a change of heart and deciding to stay..... i would of been there now And this offer was after only sending out my 11th CV... Since then i have had some interest, and I'm not giving up!

They have said they would like to keep in contact, which is a good thing. I'm sure things will work out in the end... Many thanks and good look with your adventure !

Hi Guys, I've sent my CV into a few companies, and in the last few days had some really good replies. One company's reply was " give us a few days to work out the process and we will be in touch to let you know a way forward" Hopefully this is a sponsorship offer. It a very large company too with their own in house recruitment department. Although i'm not getting over excited , its great to get some positive feed back !

Hi Sarah, My wife is in the same boat. She is a Level 5 hairdresser , but hasn't worked for the last 4 years due to our young children. (worked for 15 years before our children) One migration place said its not a problem, another one said she needs to work for at least 12 months, minimum 20 hours per week.

Hi Que Sera, How did he start the cover letter?

We went with Etihad last year, as a family of 4 we thought they were ok at the time. But this year we went Emirates, got to say they were much much better. Thinking about it Etihad even refused my 18 month year old son milk until 1st class had been served! "if any is left sir we will inform you"

My sister in law lives in Surry Hills, which is lovely, but the area we liked as a family of 4 (1 boy aged 2, girl aged 5) was Pymble. If / when we do move to Oz that's the place we are going to look at first. Their is a app out what we use to do our searches .. realestate . com

i agree.... Surry Hills. Just got back from there, we love it. Darlinghust area is lovely too

457 Visa processing time - August 2013

Hi All, How many people have been sponsored on a 457 before arriving ? The reason i ask is, I've sent my CV out to a few companies over the last few days. Had lots of positive response and replies, which really shocked me! Only thing I think might be a problem is that i'm asking for a sponsorship on a 457, do you think companies still would go for that ? -
Hi Tonyman, If I PM you can you send me the information ? I've just finished my CV ,not done one for 14 years! So any extra advice will help Many thanks

Flew with Etihad last year with my 2 children. Wasn't the best flight, kids were great though. One thing that really got to me was refusing to give my 18 month year old milk until they had served first class "if any is left, we will come back to you" Flying with Emirates next month.

Hi Murrydownunder, Each to there own i say, we only visited for a few weeks last year. When we left we thought, hhmmm not that good, then every day for the last year we can't stop thinking about it. Now we have decided it is the place for us as a family (although we don't have close family in the UK). Good luck in what ever you decide... after all if it doesn't work out its only a flight home.

Hi Robin, What line of work are you guys in ? We stayed in Surrey Hills last year (back again in March). What a great place, and Shitzu friendly . Next door to the Surrey Hills police station was a full of dogs (lots of Shitzu's in the evening). Only a small green/park but worth looking around there for accommodation. Good luck with the move !

Hi All, My wife and I are in the early stages of looking to move out to Oz. My wife is a hairdresser. Would you say a hairdresser (level 5) is a in demand job? Many thanks!
