  1. I just wanted to post a very cut down version of events leading up to our RRV being granted, the last post I made on Pomsinoz was to ask for an agent to help us in 2013. Back in August 2012 we were all set to leave the UK for Brisbane on our PR136 visa when my wife Tracey needed to have an urgent operation, this caused us to cancel everything including flights, quarantine for 2 dogs, accommodation etc. After her operation we only had a few weeks before our visas expired but Tracey was not allowed to fly for a few months so it meant that our visa's did expire. I called Australia House and explained our situation and they said we could apply for an RRV but I may require a job offer as our total time in Australia was only 9days which was our visa validation visit back in 2008. Since then we tried 3 migration agents (1 very well known on the forum) to help us through the process but none was willing to help or take our case until by chance I received an email in September 2014 inviting us to an Australian open evening hosted by Hannibal from Thames Migration in London, this was odd because I had never heard of the company before so I emailed back explaining our situation and a lady called Deepika replied asking for all the details of our case. A few days later she telephoned me and said they would be willing to take our case and sent us all the forms to start the process. During the next few months I managed to acquire a job offer through one of the agency's that Thames Migration recommended to us and this was added to our application along with all our other paperwork. Anyway our application was submitted and we got the visa granted a few days ago and are over the moon, we have now started to prepare to leave for Oz as soon as our dogs can be processed for quarantine. Thames Migration sorted everything for us and I cant praise them enough because without them we would not be getting ready to leave for Australia, from the beginning there attitude was very different from the other agents we had tried as our case was not easy and I am so glad we found them and I would totally recommend them to anyone. We are all Hoping to be in Adelaide by Christmas and look forward to meeting up:hug: All the best Phil, Tracey & Jessica :hug::smile:

  3. Hi All, How likely AU recruiting agency may help getting job for offshore candidate seeking sponsorship? I am waiting for state government sponsorship for the occupation which requires job contract. But as an offshore candidate I am worried how to secure the job. Can anybody suggest any good/authentic recruitment agency in WA? Thanks in advance!
  4. It would be great to get other's thoughts on this. No plugging, and I have been a recruiter since 2005 doing the 457 option, and believe me when I say the last 3 years haven't been a great time for us International Recruiters, finally some of my old clients are once again asking for candidates (albeit a trickle) Are we seeing the fabled 'green shoots' in Australia as well? Best Richard

  8. So, I have been in Australia since the beginning of 2008, traveled and when I came back to Melbourne at the start of '09 I started to seek out a job with the possibility of sponsorship. Now, after my application has been lodged, my employer has run out of funds to pay his staff and I am screwed! I am on a bridging visa, my working holiday expired months ago, I have very little saved, was earning very good money before hand and even went as far as invited my sibling over to stay with me, who I am now responsible for financially for the next couple of months as he is only on a tourist visa. Does anybody know of any Melbourne based recruitment agencies who specialise in seeking roles with 457 sponsorship visas? Experience in Advertising Sales, Sales/Marketing, Business Analysis/IT... Any information at this point will be hugely appreciated! My last day is on the 18th - last pay on Christmas Eve - the timing is totally bad! HELP! :arghh:
  9. I'm a Uni graduate with over 4 years of construction experience working in roles from site engineer to most recently package/site manager. The majority of my experience is RC and steel frame buildings but I have also recently done groundworks and carpark construction. I will be arriving in Sydney the end of Jan 2009 and have been looking for construction engineering jobs for a little while now with no real success. The couple of agencies I have contacted have told me that the industry as a whole is very slow which isn't unexpected considering the global financial crisis we are currently experiencing but it seems strange that there are literally no jobs at all. I can still find jobs in the UK and by all accounts its the same if not worse there at the moment so surely there must be SOME jobs available. I have an Australian passport so i'm very lucky in that regard but as a result I just presumed I would be able to pick up work when I arrived and havent really done much research. Now that I have a bit of time I am finding it alot more difficult than I expected. Please can anyone let me know of any jobs or companies that they know are recruiting? I can send a copy of my CV if required. If not could you let me know of any agencies specialising in the construction industry. Many thanks Andy
