  1. It would be great to get other's thoughts on this. No plugging, and I have been a recruiter since 2005 doing the 457 option, and believe me when I say the last 3 years haven't been a great time for us International Recruiters, finally some of my old clients are once again asking for candidates (albeit a trickle) Are we seeing the fabled 'green shoots' in Australia as well? Best Richard
  2. Hi Everyone, My client is expanding their workshop in Toowoomba, and historically has looked to sponsor UK and Irish Technicians / Mechanics in the Truck Division They are a very responsible sponsor of Expats, and as a result tend to have a loyal workforce who don't often look to move away. Anyway they currently have asked me to find them 4 Qualified Mechanics, preferably with 5-7 years experience, and ideally for a Main Dealership background. A 457 Visa Sponsorship if offered, or those who have already gained their P.R. equally will be considered. Whilst there isn't any relocation on offer, the client has always been open to helping families settle quickly and easily. I'm doing Skype interviews for the next couple of weeks if anyone wants to be considered. Please drop me a copy of your CV to richard@thomasmconsulting, or my Skype I.D. is richthomas517124 Thanks Richard
  3. Hi Linfords, I've got experience of both, having worked in WA 20 years ago as a mech, before going over the fence and becoming a mechanic recruiter based back here in the UK. I now represent a number of companies (actually these days a few!!!) from Australia. We have a client who is sponsoring on the GC, but to be honest, most 457 Sponsorships are a bit more rural. I have lot's of roles in Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, McKay etc. Wages are often not what many of the '...cowboys...' say they are (some so called professional advisors just seem to exaggerate far too often). My biggest client who I am flying over to the UK and Ireland later this month to do interviews pays $25-32/ hr dependant on location plus Superannuation, O/T etc. It's not the Lotto size salary that many expect, but certainly you can live quite happily.
