  2. not sure if its been said, but set the car on fire.
  3. looks good, I managed to grab a job within 5 days with 1-2 hours of searching a day, looking only for rural jobs. get your self a Halifax credit card too, very good. Even if you don't think you will be using it, good to have in case you lose your main cards.
  4. hi guys, im currently on a WHV, saving a bit of cash along the way, I am wondering what is the best ISA there is in oz, or is there a website that compares them I could take a look at?
  5. 30 degrees here in Gatton, although im sure id rather be in NYC
  6. depends on the season and were you land, if you come at the start of onion season in QLD, you will always have a job, its tough work but you can make decent money. I made a full documentation on onion picking in my sig link. Im not sure how easy it will be to find work before you arrive, unless you take up WWOOFING
  7. 3) seems like a good option and then number 1), if they are truly your only options. But you need a good hard think about it yourself, and ask yourself "what do I really want", then go with that. I would not use "im this age so I cant do that, or I shouldnt do this" attitude , because you should do whatever it is you want to do, its your life.
  8. cant tell you too much but if you click my blog link, I am living in Queensland for $500 a month all in. just one male. However Im not in Brisbane nore do I have a family to feed. So I dont know how relevant that will be too you.
  9. Queensland is good at the moment, check the link in my sig for numbers you can contact to see if work is going.
  10. yes rural work wont be around sydney, perhaps a few hundred miles away
  11. if you work for a contractor, but you work 5 days a week is that full time or am I just couting it as 5 days?
  12. go on airbnb, the rooms are usually cheaper than hostels and 100% better and cleaner
  13. i had like $12k, but heard people comming in with as low as $800. Get a credit card with a high limit, that will help if you cant meet the suggest target. Also have a few $ on you at the airport, from what I know, they just want to know how you are going to fund you holiday. Having credit cards helps the situation. If you do get asked that is.
  14. hi, So i've been doing my rural work since I got here, most days its been between 5-7 days a week. The last 3 week its been 6 days 7 days 7 days. As I work for a contractor and not directly with a farmer. I have the following questions to ask: 1) Since I work with a contractor and not directly with a farmer, will 5 days still count as a full work week, or is it day by day basis ? these days are usually 7-8 hours long. Approx 35-45hours a week. 2) Once I get my 1263 signed, what do I do with the form? I don't want to stay in Oz for two years, I want to come back maybe in a year or so. Can I still send in that form to immigration soon as I have done my 88 days, to get the all clear or am I meant to keep that form on me until I apply again? For some work I did onions which is paid by per bin basis, cash in hand. I plan to write my own invoices for what I got paid by my contractor and get him to sign it for each week as I have everything written down. I am also getting house rental receipts for the time period here and my bank statements show me making transaction every week while I have been here. For the last three weeks I have worked on 1 farm (contracted) 20 days out of 21, I know the name of the farm, and I will get them to write a reference for me as further proof. So I want to get as much proof as I can, don't need any hassle or suspicion that I didn't do my time. I am hearing a lot of people get asked for proof of documents, and when the cant prove this, they get denined, so im getting everything done, right, now. So If someone could answer questions 1 and 2 that would be great and if I missed anything or if I should get more things singed???? thanks.
  15. What is the average house share prices in Perth/Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane?
