    HI

    Hello!
  2. Don't know about the Virgin/Etihad thing, but we've flown with Etihad from Heathrow - Melbourne a couple of years ago, and they were brilliant. Had meals, snacks etc on the way, and pillow, blanket, overnight kit (eye mask, toothbrush and paste etc.). Hope that helps!
  3. Well - we are now the proud owners of two positive AITSL skills assessment certificates (teacher skills assessment)!! Have to say that we were a bit worried, as we graduated over 20 years ago, so it was hard work getting the paperwork together, but AITSL didn't query anything, and were obviously happy with what we sent! AITSL emailed on 5th March to say that they had received our documents. By the 21st May the application tracking page showed 'Application complete' for one of the applications, and two days later the 2nd application had the same message. That was 11 weeks since 5th March. It then took a week for the results and certificates to arrive. The reason for the two assessments was one for the main applicant, and one for partner skills points..... State Sponsorship next..........
  4. Good luck with it all!
  5. Just had a quick look at SA list, and they also have 'high availability' for your occupation, and ask for IELTS with a score of 7 in each band........... https://www.migration.sa.gov.au/SNOL_data
  6. As your occupation is on the CSOL, the only option you have is to go for the 190 Visa with State Sponsorship. You will need to get your skills assessed, and make sure that you reach 60 points for the Visa. You will also need to see which States are offering sponsorship. I've had a quick look at the WA list, and they are sponsoring at present. Good luck!
  7. Our main applicant occupation is on the CSOL, so we have no option but to apply for 190 Visa with State Sponsorship, and are therefore tied to whichever States are offering sponsorship..........
  8. You to need to see if your occupation is on the Department of Immigration skills list, so have a look at the following link..... http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/sol/ You then need to see which Visa would suit, and whether you can make the magic 60 points! Worth having a look at the DIAC Skillselect website...... http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/ Good luck with everything!

    Hello!

Hello! Good luck with everything!
  10. We used http://premier.ticketek.com.au/ Don't know if you'll have any luck if the rules have changed though.......!
  11. We bought Ashes tickets online for our whole family a couple of years ago. We bought them while we were in the UK, they got sent through the post, and we took them to Oz (MCG) with us when we went out to live for 8 months. Can't remember who we bought them through, but I could probably find out for you......... We had no problems or issues buying them online, and thought they were pretty cheap for a family of four!
  12. When I go out, I'm still wearing my thick winter coat, two jumpers, scarf, boots....... I admit that I feel the cold, but I'm not usually wearing this many layers in May. I'm too tight to put the heating on (we're on oil-fired central heating, and it costs a fortune - no mains gas), so I'm sitting here with cold fingers and cold nose!! Roll on summer!!
  13. Yes! That's what I saw on the way to work this morning!
  14. 15th May in Wales....... Only a sprinkling I know, but still.............
  15. There's a checklist at the end of the application form, so I'll copy and paste it here for you. Yes, everything needs to be certified. Don't send any original documents, otherwise you won't get them back. Don't forget copies of your passport plus a separate passport photo, and they'll also want degree certificates etc. No - they don't want GTC registration. Then be prepared for a LONG wait.....! CHECK the following documents are attached Evidence of name change - birth certificate, marriage certificate, or deed poll (if applicable) (Section B) Award certificate for initial teacher education qualification (Section E. (i)) Award certificate for special education teacher qualification (Section E. (ii)) (if applicable) Supervised teaching practice statement from the university/awarding institution (Section E. (i) & E.(ii)) Award certificate/s for all other higher education qualifications (Section F) Final academic transcripts for all qualifications for each year of study (Section E. (i), E. (ii) & F) Teacher registration (if applicable) (Section G) Academic IELTS Test Result Form (if applicable) (Section H) One (1) passport sized photograph (Section I) Passport identity page only (Section I) Payment form completed (Section J)
  16. Mid Wales...... we live in the shadow of some big mountains, hence the bad weather. Maybe we'll have a nice summer this year...........?
  17. Pouring down in Wales, and roads flooding. Had hailstones over the weekend. Could be some snow on the mountains tonight, but not sledging-type fun snow........ Doesn't seem like May at the moment........
  18. Nothing to do with your post sorry, but do you realise that your timeline down the bottom says 'submitted online 3rd August 2013'? Should it say 08/03/13 instead?
  19. Congratulations! It's a relief, isn't it?!
  20. As the wording on the AITSL website is "or equivalent", would it be worth you emailing AITSL and asking if 18 months part time PGCEI is the equivalent to 12 months normal PCGE? Good luck - I feel for you. We're still waiting for our skills assessment from AITSL.......
  21. Hi Chall - how's things going with the WA sponsorship? I'm sure I've seen on here that you could basically fly to Oz, get your passport stamped at the airport, and then get on the next fight home if you really wanted to - if you could cope with it!
  22. Is this with AITSL? If so, this is what they have in their supporting booklet - Application checklist Ensure all supporting documents are certified as described below.. Assessment of applications will be delayed when supporting documents are not appropriately certified. Certified documents Certified copies of all original documents are required for the assessment process (refer section I) except Statements of Employment for the Skilled Migration Points Test (refer page 9). These statements of employment must be original documents. Only documents certified by one of the following authorised persons will be accepted for this assessment: Certified Practising Accountant Chartered Accountant Commissioner for Oaths Justice of the Peace Notary Public Magistrate Judge Registered medical practitioner (Medical doctor) School principal Solicitor Australian Embassy/High Commission staff The certifying officer must clearly indicate on each page of each document that it is a certified true copy of the original document. They must sign and date each page of each statement. The full name, occupation, address and phone number of the certifier must be included in the application. AITSL will not accept certified electronic/scanned documents, a certified copy of a copy or a copy with previous certification stamps. Original documents and copies of documents, submitted as part of the application, will not be returned to the applicant or agent. We had ours certified by a Headteacher..... they were colour copies. AITSL don't want original documents. Hope this helps?!
  23. There's quite a lot of them on YouTube......
  24. Hi! I'm sure it's been an interesting experience being on 'Wanted Down Under'. I quite like the 'revisited' series, as you get to see people who've lived there for a bit (sometimes!). That could be you in the future! Good luck with everything! I take it that you'll be on TV at the end of the year? That's usually when it comes on to our screens, isn't it?
  25. I take it that you're one of the younger members of PomsInOz, as you've posted in the 'Younger Ones' section, so you're looking for shops that appeal to younger people?
