  3. No sign of it on the Channel 4 website.........
  4. Oooo - a new programme! Yey! Thanks for the link!
  5. That's brilliant news Chall77............!! What an exciting thing to do in your summer holidays! So jealous! How long are you going to spend there whilst validating your visa?
  6. Relocation - Phil Down Under..........?
  7. Croeso! Welcome! All sounds exciting! What are your qualifications? Let us know, and maybe someone can help guide you in the right direction to getting them recognised in Oz. PIO is a great site, and has helped me a lot so far!
  8. I've sent you a PM........
  9. Was just looking at the ACT page, and they have now announced that their new Occupation List will be published on 31st August........ It just said 'August' previously. http://www.canberrayourfuture.com.au/portal/migrating/article/act-occupation-list/
  10. As a guide for you, The Avenue is considered to be a 'prestigious' place to live in Armidale, so I've attached a property there for you to compare. Personally, I wouldn't live in Uralla, but that's just my personal taste....... http://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-armidale-111329771
  11. Welcome, and good luck!
  12. No, not yet. We're not ready to do that yet...... We have a 'plan of action', and just hope that things work out for us. If they don't, that's life!
  13. It's probably cheap because it's in an industrial area........
  14. I'm afraid we're still in the UK! We did a Teacher Exchange to NSW a couple of years ago, which was a fabulous experience, and we would like to return to Oz in the near(ish) future......
  15. Hi! We are Primary School teachers too! Sammy1 is a great source of information when it comes to teaching! Primary School Teacher isn't on the SOL as you know, it's on the CSOL, which perhaps tells us a lot about the lack of need for us in Oz........! Good luck with everything!
  16. Armidale is proud to be 'The highest city in Australia' ! It's a fabulous rural 'city' - we loved it there!
  17. ??!! Can't imagine anything like that in Armidale NSW! Is it Armadale WA you're thinking of?
  18. http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/skilledmigration/Pages/LatestNews.aspx or this........
  19. http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/skilledmigration/Pages/HowtoapplyforStateSponsorship.aspx Hope this helps......
  20. We are Primary School teachers too, and are intending to go for the 190 Visa, which we see as our only option realistically, as Primary School Teacher is on the CSOL. WA is still sponsoring the 241213 Primary School Teacher at present. Most States haven't got it on their list at the moment.......
  21. http://www.localguidesigns.com.au/armidale-tourism/armidale-maps.php As for winter - yes, cold at night, but then quite often by lunchtime we were outside having a BBQ!
  22. There are obviously some areas of Armidale that aren't as desirable as others...... There's a railway line , so suppose you wouldn't want to be right next to that. Some areas close to the university have more 'student' type accomodation. We lived on the south hill, but have friends dotted around all over Armidale. I agree that you should rent first if possible. It won't take you long to get a feel for the place, and which areas are the 'best'. We found it to be a lovely, friendly place. The Centro shopping centre is good, and as most places in Australia, has free parking!
  23. Hi! I replied to your other post too, as we lived in Armidale for 6 months a couple of years ago, on a Teacher Exchange. We loved Armidale. It took just under 3 hours to get to the coast if we fancied a change of scenery. Plenty to do in Armidale - a great rural city, and UNE seemed a popular university.
  24. Hi! We lived in Armidale NSW for 6 months a couple of years ago! It's a beautiful city! It also has a slightly cosmopolitan feel, as it is home to the University of New England.
