  3. Hi, not posted in a while but been a long timer viewer. We got our visa last year, validated it in October moved out of our house in November, currently staying with family saving every penny for our move in July. We have accommodation set up for the first 5-6 weeks, we have a rental car booked for the first few weeks, we have a bank account open and are jumping on the good rate against the £ whenever we can and we have medicare sorted out. Just wondered if there is anything we can do now before we get there?? Looking at shipping companies just now and pricing that up. Any hints and tips on what to take and what to do would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just a quick question have sent emails to AITSL and to the IMMI and am awaiting a reply, thought i'd try here to see if anyone could help My wife who will be the main applicant currently travels with a passport in her maiden name, we have collected all but one of our documents for AITSL assessment and when we got her passport photocopied the penny dropped and we remembered that she travels in her maiden name......is this a problem? Would people recommend renewing her passport, still 7 years on it, before or after skills assessment? and also would you recommend renewing it before visa application? thanks

  10. Thanks for all the replies!! Feel alot more comfortable knowing that my profession is in demand. Regarding the maths curriculum, at present i teach the scottish curriculum and therefore do not have experience in teaching A Level maths, quickly scanning the course its very similar to Higher and Advanced Higher in Scotland, would this pose a problem? I;m a bit confused regarding the IELTS do i have to sit this? i have read a few conflicting things on the Internet
  11. Hi I'm a secondary school maths teacher with 6 years experience and hold a PGCE. i know I have the qualifications to teach in Australia but not sure on the actual demand,is there anyone on here been in the same boat? We are right at the start of the application process but are trying to find out what sort of job prospects I would have before taking the plunge!!
  12. Thank you we'll have a look at the forums along the bottom!!! So much to read and take in and it feels like we're only scratching the surface!!!
  13. Thanks for the replies my wife did a 4 year degree mathematics and financial economics followed by a year PGCE,and has worked for 6 years at a state school in Scotland. There seems to be lots of help on the Internet as long as you read and re read everything I think we'd manage without an expensive agent....well hopefully anyway!! Is there any websites/forums that you could recommend us looking at?
  14. Hi My wife and i are in the very early statges of looking into emigrating. We are trying to read and take in as much information as possible just now but are struggling on where to start...any pointers? My wife is a Maths Teacher here in Scotland and she would be the visa applicant, we are hoping to apply for an employer sponsored visa, but are really lost at the moment. I have got in touch with a few agents but don't know if they are good or bad...can anyone recommend any? is it an essential to have an agent? We have looked into the different stages of emigration process and are trying to find out as much as possible before we start the process, any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks
