  2. Hi, just starting to upload documents to immi account - can anyone clarify if all I need to upload for children is passport and birth certificate - medicals are completed also??
  3. Wow - thats a quick turnarond - good luck and congratulations. Still waiting for ours but also heading for Perth hopefully - exciting times!
  4. Hi, We have flights booked for the end of November and currently live in Manchester. We have booked flights from London (Heathrow) to singapore ( with a 3 day stay) then onto Perth :-) Just looking at options of getting to Heathrow - was initially thinking of getting the train down the day before and staying overnight at a hotel close to the airport - just checked out train prices - £220 (2A,2C)! so looked at car hire - £155 + petrol, looked at flights £200 from Manchester to Heathrow the day before. Car hire worries me incase there may be massive delays; trains delays and just think the price is shocking; flights not sure??? Any thoughts and has anyone done this journey with any advice?
  5. Really??? I would be really really suprised if medicals were not referred....but if thats the case - that is great! As all our medicals have come back saying finalised in the wording!
  6. Hi, Had medicals on the 2nd March and immi account states that - Meeting the health requirementHealth has been finalised for this person for this visa subclass based on the information provided to the department. If this person needs to do anything further to meet the health requirement, they will be contacted by the department. There is no need to contact the department at this time concerning this matter. So do I only find out if medicals are okay until CO is assigned?? Thanks in advance x
  7. Hello, I am unable to give you any experience in this specfic area but we are worried about medicals in regards to a rare pre-existing medical condition but decided to go ahead with paying for the visa and having our medicals - without being sure if all family members will pass. It is alot of money without a definate guarantee of success but feel that ulimately it is upto the authorities if medicals are passed or not. We felt that we would rather be given a definate formal no rather than presuming the medicals would fail and not to apply - and still be wondering in years to come if we would have been granted. We obtained copies of medical records to take to the medical with us and a letter from the GP - so they have all the information necessary to make a decision. Fingers crossed....
  8. Just to add - rather pleased with the exchange rate at the moment - saved about £500 on the cost of the visa from what we were expecting to pay :-)
  9. Have finally lodged our 189 application 5 minutes ago (12.55am)! woohoo! Didn't realise I would need to do more on the application form and thought I would just need to pay today after our offer to apply. Next step - printing off medical forms and starting to upload documents next week I think :-) Deep breaths.....
  10. Hello, Full birth certificates for everyone; marriage certificates, passports, professional references, you could scan these onto the computer ready? I may have missed something....
  11. I got an email - but missed it - but when I checked my immi account the invitation was there :-) Fingers crossed for you at the next round
  12. Unusual to get an EWO visit if your children have been attending school - you should contact your local education department and advise that you are emigrating and are taking your children off school roll from a certain date -then you would have fulfilled your obligations in informing them formally. Unfortunately some children do appear to dissappear into thin air.....
  13. Have you applied for 189 visa? Has your visa been refused due to your medicals or do you still need to go through this process??
  14. Fantastic! - We have also received an invitation to apply today too :-) Starting to get real now..... What profession are you applying under and have you decided where you are headed?
  15. Thank you this information is useful - I prefer to know what to expect with the medical process and although we are taking a risk with paying for the visa with a posibility of getting knocked back as only they can decide on the outcome. Shame you can't do the medical first before paying for the visa....
  16. I wondered what happens after medicals get referred and they ask for further investigation..... if this happens do you get told to contact a specific specialist and they would let you know how much that would cost?? Just out of interest also - I presume advice of a specialist agent for medical conditions would usually only be necessary if medicals were refused after doing everything they had asked?
  17. Hello, Please could anyone clarify if medicals were referred how long they were given to validate visa once/if granted - would it be the usual 12 months from date of medicals or shorter?? Thanks in advance :-)
  18. Thank you for your speedy response - I was panicking a little - its a mine field! I think I have tried to plan this for so long and had twitchy fingers and (don't shoot me down) booked some flights in the hope that all the medicals and visa will be through prior to arriving in Oz in Dec 2015. I know I have been a bit daft and prices for flights were good and I succumbed to temptation - my initial thoughts were to do the medicals March - these will be referred then looking at 3 months probably for assessment and request for further details etc as necessary which would hopefully take us to June /July for a decision - which would give us time to organise things this end if it was granted. If not granted we would go on a holiday. I didn't even think that they might not give 12 months from the medical dates and was thinking more along the lines of it will takes 3+ months to get a decision on medicals which would time well for flights. Grr why do I do this to myself.... Health conditions do not relate to TB or pregnancy etc...but further assesments may be requested before they make a decision. Not sure what to do about time scales now for medicals...... dug myself a hole...
  19. Hi, Just wondering about your information if you have health undertakings u only get 6 months from date of medicals rather than 12 months - could you clarify about this? Do you mean if your medicals are referred and then passed that you only get 6 months to validate??? Jot sure what is meant by` health undertaking `. I think our medicals will get referred when we do them and was planning to fly out November 2015 should I put off my medicals until I am within 6 months of the november date?? A bit worried now :-/ I have just put in my EOI - friendly advice appreciated :-)
  20. I'm hoping it is this Friday - fingers crossed :-)
  21. It must be very difficult if you were expecting a years grace to validate, and your son would have worked very hard for his GCSE's; do you know why they haven't given you a year? Possibly could try to request a short extension if that wasn't granted then I guess you would need to take a short validation trip if you want and your son wants to sit his GCSE's before he leaves - then he can be sent the results via post. Trouble is you never know if you will want to stay in OZ forever until you get there; and he may need his GCSE results if you return :-/ Difficult decision I guess it is extra money vs GCSE's if you cant get an extension. Good luck :-)
  22. Hello, Have just completed my EOI today and hoping to get invited in the forthcoming round :-) I know I haven't officially 'lodged' yet but will be doing so this month if we get the invite - getting a little excited now - took a long time to get to this stage! Thought i would start this thread for people taking that big step this month as I have been reading other threads for previous months out of interest for a while...... :-) Be lovely to hear from anyone else.
  23. What a shame - I have heard of adults getting medicals referred then passed when they have had previous diagnosis of cancer and TB, I would have thought that mild ASD with normal IQ wouldnt be a problem after appropriate reports like educational psychlogist etc - but the cost of the visa is expensive and it is a risk; as it will be for anyone will pre-existing medical conditions - dreading ours :-( But good luck all the same :-)
  24. I am very shocked that a mild diagnosis of ASD would prevent you from applying for a 189 visa as a family - as you state he doesn't really have any 1-1 support in class and only a TA at break times and a visual timetable - for such a young child i would have though that all of these are pretty standard strategies used in all schools, that don't cost the school any extra. Out of interest what would be the difference in going on a 457 visa in regards to medicals etc? and education provision?
  25. If you were planning on getting jobs in the near future I would have though that would be enough, guess it depends how many for, when you planning on securing employment, how much you want to spend on a rental and if this estimate includes the costs of moving over too ie.flights, container, short term accomodation etc. We wont be taking that much - but would be nice too :-) Hoping to take about 3 months salary and get jobs pretty soon!
