  1. thanks adaminoz, its my partner whos looking for IT work, hes 16yrs in the trade and all certs up to date, he does virtualisation atm so im guessing its a specialised job.. the only trouble with moving around will be moving my 8yr old from school to school which is defo not an option..moving overseas will be daunting enough for him, we had our hearts set on perth but realistically im thinking we need to re look at this, best get OH back pack packed and send him off travelling around oz thanks again!!
  2. THANKS ever so much CATSRUS!! GREAT ADVICE, i really appreciate the time you have taken to give me this insight thanks again

  5. wooow sounds awesome especially the safe swim area, so paranoid of sharks lol, my son has just turned 8yrs so i hope he will love it, although alls he says atm is ''i love this cold weather mummy'' eeeeeeeeeeeek
  6. no i have never been, my partner knows a few people there (old colleagues etc) so we get regular updates on fb, i am sure i will love it, my son is my main worry but i am pretty sure he will be ok, he'l have to be !! lets face it, its mostly for him, thanks @PomCop i will be picking your brains very soon we think we may try and rent in rockingham? as we been told its still commutable to the city but far enough away to be ''away from the city'' if you know what i mean..
  7. thanks guys, omg i have no idea??? we think perth atm, we need to get job hunting, i ideally want to go in our school holidays for the 6 week break and then get my son into a school in mid year rather than take him xmas and have him start a new year aswell as a new school.. hes just turne 8 so im sure he will adapt ok. jobs the key! celebrate first tho eh
  8. only taken 2 years but hey im sure it will be worth it
  9. thats great that your kids can be like that i was a kid that punched boys in the face if they started on me, (very ashamed of this btw) but my son is nothing like me at all, hes very sensitive, i have tried so many times to help him, i have seen kids slap him around the face, pull his hair, kick punch him etc and i go steaming over and insist he hits them back! he just wont, hes very tall and broad for a 7 year old but it is just not in his nature to be like that, hes said to me ''i dont want to hit as its not nice'' can you imagine how frustrating this is altho saying this i took him to thailand last xmas...in a thai boxing bar he loved getting in the ring boxing russian boys older then him, didnt win but had a good go so i know he can handle himself for sure...he will be over 6ft like his father and very broad but if its not in him to fight its just not in him
  10. yes i tell my son to ''ignore'' but hes a sensitive creature and takes it all to heart, he gets hit..he wont hit back, hes the tallest and broadest which is very frustrating...but he is what he is and i love that in him his father is 6ft 6 and he will be the same (the rate he is growing) a gentle giant...with a caring loving nature..
  11. we are on a 189 (Still waiting for CO) my 7yr old is mixed race and is currently having a little trouble at school re his skin colour (kids saying his skin is brown and laughing) nothing we both cant handle atm but wanted to ask re this very very sensitive issue, i have no idea how to put this question out there in fear of offending someone, but i have to try and ask, so here goes .. has anyone experienced this kind of issue out in oz?
  12. thanks all, trouble is the x knows that she aint gonna get the huge whack she already gets for a few mths until my partner can find work and she will want to stick evey knife in possible...if hes not working he cant pay her that of course wont be forever, but thanks anyway, i think i will wait until we get our CO and see what they require us to do , it may have to go to court to force her to sign a declaration which is going to be very costly..but she likes running up tens of thousands of soli bills...for now i guess i will put a hold on our police checks and medicals as they run out after 12mths and this may take up half of this? been doing this for 2 years ..whats another one huh
  13. hi all, my partner has had to put on our visa application that he has 2 dependant children, although his kids wont see him and want nothing to do with him (obviously evil influences going on here but thats another story) anyhow, we have been told today that wehn we get a CO assigned in the (hopefully) nxt coming weeks that they may request there medicals and want to see there birth certs ... we dont want them on the visa and we have no way of getting there medicals done as they refuse to see there dad could prob get copies of birth certs? but we explained that the meds would of ran out by the time they are grown and may want to come over but aparently its proceedure..has anyone got around this? as this seems too ridiculous to stop us all from going
  14. may i ask, my son and i are going on my partners 189 visa (as hes younger than me) but our plan is for him to go first to job search/rental search/school search rather than drag my 7 yr old around, can he activate the visa and then we follow a few mths later?does anyone know??
