  1. Yes, I completed the modified assessment after i was registered as a nurse with AHPRA; cheaper too - i didn't need to do the academic Ilets, just the general for points after i turned 34 and lost 5 points :-/. Good luck :-)
  2. Hi Sarah, Was wondering if you have your positive skills assessment back - if your friend certified everything. If so then thats great (my nursing assessment i had to go to the courts and get a JOP to certify everything) but that may not be required in all occupations. If you have everything back and are ready to lodge for a 189 visa, once you are invited to apply then you can just have colour scan of everything which are accepted - hope that helps :-)
  3. Thank you HarveySpecter :-) I keep thinking should i wait until the 1st July till I try to chase them up...with reports that they are not issuing any more visa's until then - I will try to be patient a little while longer. Sick of keep checking my emails....becoming a little addictive now but not very productive! Must be great already settled over in Oz...can't even try to book a holiday stay until we have the visa - just incase its a no :-/
  4. Congratulations! Thats fatastic news! :-) Where are you heading? We are still waiting ...i feel like sending an email to ask.....but then i think should i wait a little longer till the 1st July...arrrghh....wait is driving me insane....still waiting to hear back from interview too.... and still no requests for viewing for our house which is up for sale....nothing happening :-( rant over - deep breaths.....and breathe...

    Funds

Wow..that will last you a while without working I think....unless you are a big spender!

    Funds

Scary talking about funds - if our house doesn't sell we will be going will about £4k for 2 adults and 2 children! (Have flights booked and probably a months accomodation) Now thats scary - if emergency flights home needed then that would have to go on credit card haha :-/ If you want to do it you will find a way :-)
  7. Sounds like your having a difficult time and am sorry to hear that for you. Its sounds like your a little low in mood to be honest (if this was a lady posting then some may have the view that the lack of energy, avoiding people, difficulties you may be experiencing amy be signs that you are suffering with some depression. Might be worth possibly considering a trip to the GP or nurse??) - it is hard when plans dont work out - but doesn't mean it has to be the end. I find it interesting that you are considering leaving your family.....to seek some adventure and try to fulfil something elsewhere and without them... when you are not sure what you are missing. A massive step and would surely impact upon your OH and son? Have you spoken with your OH how you are feeling and really tried to make positive changes in your relationship and family life? Do you feel you can find the energy and determination to make life better with your OH and son? Do you go out and do family activties or go out on 'date nights' with your OH? At some point it may be that you become a Grandfather yourself and if you are not with your family would possibly miss out on this (just things to consider). The job situation sounds like it has been difficult too and that you aren't getting any job satisfaction, your son dropped out of school - but if he is doing a apprenticeship then thats great! It may take him on a better path if he enjoys it :-) Doesn'e mean he has failed - simply taking a different route.... Sounds like you are spending alot of time on your own at the moment - Volunteering is a fantastic idea - it would get you out and about meeting new people and maybe lead to another job you may be interested in :-) It would give you something new to talk about with your family, rather than feeling same old...and boring conversations. I hope you manage to have a good think about the future - it will take effort to change things up but nothing will change otherwise....but also try to appreciate what you already have - from what i can gather from your post - you have a partner, a son who is making good progress and have some income coming in and are financially stable. Hope you are feeling happier and more fulfilled in your life soon, whatever decisions to decide to make - Good luck x
  8. Wonderful news!!! We r the same - no delay email and advised marked for review mid June - maybe it could be granted before 1st July going off ur brilliant news! I wonder if on the 1st july lots of people are granted??? I forgot have u a job lined up? X
  9. Hi Daf, It would be worth checking but...I think if your Mrs is a health visitor she should have a post graduate degree - not diploma. What year did she complete the health visiting course??? :-)

    The NHS

From someone who works in the NHS there are massive cuts but also the move to commissioned services - ie private companies paying the NHS to deliver on certain targets and that the work has to be targeted to deleiver those results rather than providing the other services. I am no longer 'paid' to deliever a holisitc service and if the activitiy isnt' commissioned (ie. emotional health support, self harm stratgeies, weight management, smoking cessation, sex education and pregnancy/infection prevention, low mood) then requested to 're-focus' on the activity we are paid to do. The roles have been demished from when we orginally trained. Community nurses have increased ie. health visitors as part of the early intervention drive, but then the focus on training new nurses for other areas has dropped - then leaving a national shortage of school nurses and acute hospital nurses (to name a few). My area are again undergoing another re-design - again to save money and staff will be cut again; the numbers of nurses who have had enough of too much work and not enough hours/staff and leaving the NHS is rising, leaving vacant posts which are then not filled as part of the savings to be made by the trust. Staff morale is so low, how can you do a good quality job for all your patients when not enough staff? Which then impacts upon your own health - Or being told that you are to re-focus nursing attention from someone in emotional distress because we are not 'paid' to do that - nursing has definately changed for the worse in the UK.
  11. Well uploaded final piece of information requested and now join who ever is still waiting for visa to be processed/granted! :-)
  12. Wanted to share our news - after 37 days the long awaited police check has finally arrived. Hoping to upload it soon then fingers crossed for grant!! I noticed when i have looked on immi account it asks to attach documents requested and then click another button to indicate that the application is highighted that it is ready to be looked at again - anyone else have the same?
  13. Hello, Email this morning for an telephone interview next week! (very nervous!) It for a community health nurse for WA.gov - got advised that i will be sent an email with questions 15 minutes before my interview then will have my interview - agghh - scary! I have read tips on other posts but has anyone else had interview for this kind of position or is working in this position now?
  14. Hello, we are coming from Uk and after booking a hotel are thinking of getting £400 exchanged to take with us for 3 days in Singapore, for food and activities. Any left over we can send at the airport on the way out :-) We have decided we would like to do Singapore Zoo and maybe a trip to Marina Bay for the light show :-) Thats our thoughts anyhow x
  15. Definately remain postive - we still waiting for additional documents to come through yet - was told upto 40 days we on day 21 now :-/ just want it so it can be uploaded then at least I can put in job applications that we actually have a PR visa! Fingers crossed for everyone x
  16. I didn't think they would ask for anything else as we had declared it - but i guess anyone could make anything up and not be the actual reason for the 'no live trace'. I wish i would have thought to apply for it alongside the police checks..... Good news that it might not take that long...fingers crossed. I guess i will need to sent it off asap. Thanks for sharing :-)
  17. Hello, So had an email from a case officier this morning - but request for more information :-/ They asking for a subject access request as OH came back with 'no live trace' which we were expecting and declared on EOI from years ago. Just looked and although only £10 - can take 40....yes 40 days from them recieving it to getting the required information! Well at least they only requested one thing but thats a while to wait :-/
  18. Hi Pinkestlady :-), I work in the community, school nurse/public health, youth health, safeguarding and nurse for young offenders/vulnerable individuals/families - a few roles in one lol - NHS defo getting value for money lol x Hoping to get a position as a community health nurse and we are heading to Perth. I'm pleased to hear you have been allocated a case officier - you must be so excited :-) When are you thinking of flying out? I'm waiting for CO now, think i have uploaded the the necessary documents - fingers crossed!
  19. PCC came in the post today for me and OH - will be trying to scan and upload at work tomorow - fingers crossed they dont request anything else and it will be a direct grant....
  20. Hi, Thought I would add that I also have not uploaded any payslips or bank statements, but my professional references, Ilets and skills assessment and my AHPRA registration (nursing) - surely you would think if you have your skills assessed which indicate how many years you are able to claim for then this would surfice, along with the evidence of your points - guess we will see - time to await for CO to see if they request more documentation.
  21. You can go to your local court and request that you have your documents certified by a Justice of the Peace - usually have to make an appointment - about £30.00. Try to make sure you have everything you need photocopied and ready to save you going back again.
  22. Getting scary/exciting......we sent off for PCC yesterday but was the last thing we needed to do - just need to upload when we have the certificates back.....now to plod on with the repairs on the house so we can get it on the market soon :-)

    Medicals

Hi, we rung up and they had a space the same afternoon - so we took the boys out of school for the afternoon to get them done. It seemed you were able to book ahead and we didnt need to pay until after the medicals :-)

    Medicals

Hello, We had our medicals with Medmigration at Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester - pleased with the process and Dr was pleasant and nice with my 2 mis-behaving boys! (Couldn't believe after speaking with them beforehand to be sensible and well behaved they were winding each other up resulting in the boys being hysterical and taking no notice of me from the examining table!) Reports for the boys were uploaded same day and ours 2 days later once blood test results back. They were slightly cheaper too :-) = always helpful when the whole process costs a fortune! Hope that helps :-)
