Hey all just a note to help would be rental hunters, We have been here a month or so and thought we would have easily secured a rental as we had a sizable chunk o cash in the bank, however after viewing dozens of "cosy rentals",being turned down, and wondering how the agents kept a straight face as you viewed a 70s porno film set we got zilch so it was getting stressful an all that, so i put an add on gumtree and turned it around and specifically asked if it was possible for a rental which was not a 70s film set.I also said that if the Land lord was suitable enough we "might " consider there offer. First come first served. Any way a really nice lady contacts us and was laughing and said as she thought we were so fussy as tenants we had first refusal on an upcoming rental. The rental was everything and more with incredibly good and flexible terms. We went to what is a supposedly well to do ish area today to look at a rental in ocean reef,usual 70s themed decor which is strangely becoming acceptable,anyway went in a childs bedroom and all the skirting was rotting with dry rot and the wall was covered in mould. No attempt to make it acceptable by the agent.When she asked what i thought i said it was disgusting so that went down like a lead balloon. The price 650 a week! Im goin down the camp shop:err:

I have several pages of records from years ago. I was up front about it, hid nothing and provided references from professionals to prove my rehabilitation etc ,no probs, you have nothing to worry about.

To be fair some shippers get a a raw deal, as it only takes one bad experience and they get panned, on the other hand the same company might get it right for hundreds of people. Everyone's expectations are different and having worked in the public domain I realize some people could be offered services for free and it wouldn't be good enough. A bit of research will go a long way ,there are lots on the forums, good luck
