  1. As an international student and GSM applicant myself, I can completely emphasise. However, your rant delivered with such angst is ill-fitting of your apparent achievements in both university and workplace. I am not here to berate you, but to emphasise and redirect your frustration into positive. You clearly have good grasp of the English, but it seems your argument and phrasing of sentences are lacking. Let's start from the top: You acknowledged Freedom of Information act wouldn't work against the IELTS and its company - if you are conceding that it won't work, why are you making argument that it should? Also, language is a mean of communication. Effective written communication should also be simple. I would recommend that you start selecting words that fits and explains your point of view better. Example A: "The .5 deficit means that by this time next year, I will have to leave the country for good due to expiry of current visa." 'Deficit', really? This is not a budget talk. you have a difference in points required and points you received. Use of punctuation as well, seems to be very limited in your writing. Punctuation is extremely important and that could may well have been your downfall here. Anyway, that's just me giving you couple pointers. I don't work in a 'top notch' consultancy but boy, I would consider harnessing more positive approach and less of pomp and paranoia, since you leak of stereotype 'I expect so much from society and if I don't there's a consipiracy'. You give us hard working people a bad name.
  2. Oh and please in advance, no asking of possibilities, chances and "Do you think..." which we cannot possibly answer! (Yes I am clearly pissed at the news but that is not the point here)
  3. Hi Team, From priority processing group 5 thread, seems we are getting confirmations that 4200 places for the Family sponsored GSM quota has now been exhausted. http://www.iscah.com/Iscahnewsletter170.pdf If you are an agent, or work with agent, further confirmation will be greatly appreciated for everyone involved. Not entirely sure what's going on here, but this does sound too bad to be true (If there were such a phrase). Only plausible scenario of this is massive rush of family sponsored application just before 1st July, just like the one we saw for the ENS/RSM S http://www.dlegal.com.au/migration/employer-sponsored-work-visa-australia/210-rsms-employer-sponsored-regional-work-visa-austral/1549-ensrsms-employer-visa-processing-update-australia.html As a family sponsored applicant myself this is rather disappointing to say the least.
  4. This is what sydney office lady (unnamed for privacy purpose) said: system they use have been updated, but this is causing a linking trouble with the electronic visa inquiry system. I have been told to send a 929 form to brisbane office attn GSM with certified copy of my passport..
  5. Hey guys, I am literally on the phone right now dealing with DIAC office at the moment... It seems the e-visa status inquiry https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/inquiry/query/query.do?action=eVisa has bit of weird thing going on. Don't panic etc, I am just writing as an FYI. I am 886, and ever since I got a new passport which I updated with DIAC office (and even had Bridging visa B application soon after approved with new passport), I was not able to access https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/inquiry/query/query.do?action=eVisa with my TRN and my details. If you are in same kind of situation, just calmly give these guys a call and check your status over the phone. I am following up with office (hence on the phone now) to see what actually is doing this and how this can be resolved.
  6. Official announcement aside, normal Australia closing time this year is from 22nd Dec to 3rd of jan. (Seriously, nothing will get done 23rd so might as well disregard that.) I know I am off from 21st!
  7. Hi George, I just read one of agent had two category 5 case processed and approved (886) - would you say this is completely untrue? I show MARA contact of said agent and I am now a 'marketer'... Thanks, Kevin
  8. LOL. Do me a favour - find any Korean friend (By golly I do wish you have a friend even with that cynical approach to life) and ask them to go to that site to verify. (OH hold on now you are gonna say I am marketing to that Korean friend you might never have) And Google AdWords? Please.
  9. LOL. This is almost like people not believing that Voldemort came back to life (Yes I read Harry Potter, I am going to hell ) All I am doing is get information passed along so 1. Other agents viewing this could follow up 2. people would be more hopeful of things going through and ultimately 3. give myself some more hope as a guy who applied 29/12/2009 as an 886 applicant.
  10. I read it in that migration agent's website yesterday. Then today I went for my passport check, and DIAC officer said some would have received letters, C.Os and grants - but sadly I haven't. ADDED: DIAC guy was on ground level. Counter 6, around 1030 today.
  11. In the interest of full disclosure, I have not used agent nor will I be in future. I read that yesterday, then I got my new passport registered at DIAC in central station office (The one between station and UTS) and that's what I heard. What with 886 already (almost) passing July 2011 mark for category 4, wouldn't be surprised if these guys were one of the first in line for 886, waiting well over 2 years or even 3. Korea is also low risk country as well. Like I said, don't shoot the messenger - I have given you all plenty of resource to check it yourself as well if you don't believe this to be true. Then again judging by the reaction.... nevermind.
  12. Lol, give him a call then. I did. Contact number of his company (in Strathfield, Sydney - go figure, a Korean town) is listed in his MARA agenct information link I put up.
  13. Hi all, Since most of the category 5 thread people seems to be just outright going through denial process, I am making another thread. Please let me know if you are an onshore category 5 - 886 and 885. I have been told by the immigration officer today that some onshore cat 5 has received letters and in some cases, C.O. I asked this because website of MARA Agent JAMES KYU SANG HWANG has updates saying on Sept 9th and Oct 19th that their 886 applicants received permanent residency. http://www.hojoo.com/imin/ I have just called, and they couldn't diverge too much but has indicated that these onshore applicants waited well over 2 years. (I am about to hit 2 years mark too) So if you are onshore category 5, for 886/885 - please let me know who you are, and go check your application status. I know I will be checking more often from now on. Thanks, Kevin
  14. you are missing my point here. Majority of people using this forum are offshore applicants. For them to think they have any hope because of this possible court proceeding is just false, and since you are a PR specialist, you should know that at the coalface.
  15. Bajwa, read what he wrote very carefully (http://g4.net.au/wiki/group-5-news/from-an-immigration-lawyer-group-5-applicants-be-prepared-to-act/), he has no ways of helping you if you are an offshore applicant... He essentially wants to have a lawsuit with the 'perfect candidate' from category 5 onshore. There are two outcomes everyone can imagine: Lawsuit fails, everything goes as priority processing - this is the easiest hypothesis. Lawsuit success - onshore applicants now have a glimmer of hope, and with apparently over 40,000 priority 5 applications, this is going to present a massive backlog of applications from - yes, no surprise here - offshore. Doesn't help anyone BUT onshore people.
