1. What did you say to get them to give you CO today? Medical Condition??
2. Ok so non ETA country... (that's what low risk countries are..)
3. Hey mate - you can search QUYENQUANGT's other posts when logged in to find this. Question though - Are you from the low risk country Quyen?
4. Sorry Arshad, I didn't even bother reading your post above in its entirety, because: 1. I am not saying that what you and others wrote to various public figures were a harrassment. I do not hold this opinion, nor will I ever. 2. I was merely pointing out that whatever we send or say has no bearing, nor will it be considered 'need to read'. Therefore, I am merely pointing out that to anyone receiving them in big volume, will consider it as a harrassment. 3. There's no right or wrong here - there's consequences. Calling DIAC and writing to them will increase their workload. This could very well cause my aforementioned consequences. I know I sound like a snotty smart ass, but I am in no way telling you that you are harrassing anyone.
5. Tell him I just may add Sydney's finest pub-brewed beer if it passes end of Dec 2009 mark. Let me know when you are getting him a beer (msg msg!)
6. I was very much kidding myself on that one so you don't have to worry big fella. Let's see if they do update on 18th, which is the 3rd monday of this month. Thanks for trying to find out though. I am sure guys appreciate any and all information here.
7. I am afraid more calls and more work other than 'processing work' thrown at DIAC will delay our applications being processed further Arshad. Yes it is perfectly right for any of us to find our voice and use it. Without trying to be harsh, it will be treated as a 'harrassment' by anyone who receives your or my complaint letters. Our sponsors are the only one who has a voice that matters in Australia. Not us. Us being impatient is hardly a matter to anyone in Australia other than our sponsors. @Bulldog you need to predict the next timetable and you are set I reckon Z
8. Hey Mate, Did you ask if there will be an update this week / next week? Thanks, Z
9. ............ It means organise to get your health check for PR done.....?????
10. Just got another line saying on my application status page saying:

24/06/2013 Application being processed further

considering it's 5th July... that thing is god awful old and late update. Dec 24 2009 online 886. I must have some logs saying I am a serial complaint maker since I have two lodged as official complaints.
11. Give DIAC a call, and ask/tell them the following specific: 1. Say you discussed with migration agents if you don't have one - and say you know that there is applicants who are getting looked in from June 2010. Ask them why your application is not having a look in and want to know when exactly - they will tell you that August bullshit. 2. Tell them that you want to speak to the processing side, not the contact side (whom you will be talking to at this initial stage) 3. They will say that we cannot do that, or we can only send them email and it takes 7 working days 4. Say I will go on hold, and will wait until somebody from there is able to talk - they will either do it or send email to processing side with high priority. 5. Thank me later.
12. Migration agent at Strathfield NSW has informed me just now that DIAC is looking at cases from June 2010 for 886 - not entirely sure if this is CO allocation or just looking into files, but if you are 886 from 2009, go call them at 1300 number and give them a stinker. I will updated further today as I have communication with them currently. Added: And no, I won't be answering your questions, I am not your Genie.
13. ok all of you: CALM THE HOLY DOWN. No cap & cease will be made until there is an announcement. As the old saying in PR goes, nothing is official until the statement is made. Freakout doesn't need to start until there is such statement, on immi.gov.au site, and only on immi.gov.au site. And on another point, this is exactly why I was saying we all need to read up on Australia's current affair. Australia is currently having a big issue with their federal budget where country budget surplus suddenly turned into big minus (defecit). Cap and cease means government returns money back to those who had their application ceased. There is no way in hell Aus government is going to give millions of $ in application fee with impending budget deficit. Does not make any financial sense. (yes yes, I know I know you guys can go and make 'but but they are stupid' arguement on AUS Government but you see my point right?) I urge you guys to just wait for the new allocation table, and don't worry about this issue until it is on our hand. Again, informed prediction is always great and welcome - but please ensure you have your sources correct and strong in evidence and consciously make judgement on how the prediction will bring about responses from the mass: INTERNET of all places. z out.
14. GOOD GOLLY! Congrats, I am 3 days away from you at 29/12/2009! Having said that, community welfare has smaller number compared to business general [nec] which is mine. It feels like they are handpicking the job & field..
15. I apologise if I sounded like a right old bastard - wanted to sound firm and straight so nothing more happens. I have seen people getting hard done by small and little things and did not want that to happen here.
16. You mean that 886 FS applicants up to end of 2009 will be processed by this financial year.......... right? Just being grammar ass because two sentences have greatly different meaning..
17. Ok STOP STOP. SHTOP. Christ Saras712, advising any more on this without MARA certification is highly illegal. Seema, go to any of MARA agent and stop trying to save your dollars on this. AGAIN: Advising on actual application of any migration without certification IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL. STOP this already for your own god damn good.
18. Ok for fu ck sake did you really need to quote 2 people and write it on 3 posts? oh hang on.. I am on the internet.
19. When I say prepare yourself beyond reasoning, I mean beyond financial and what you have already done: When you start learning English, you need to learn culture. I can't start learning Indian or Chinese without learning its culture and current affairs right? Go read up on English / Australian culture. Go to its news site, go to its sports site. If food or drinks are what you like, go checkout sites like timeout. Go watch Voice Australia catch up TV, SBS tv documentaries, current affairs.. Look at politics, read up. If you want to invest in living in Australia, go check out regions, property magazines, financial magazines. Look at tourism pages and see where you want to go. Look at maps of roads to get yourself familiar with. Try to understand dynamics of racial difference and gaps in Australia and prepare yourself for barrage of uneducated kids who might yell things you wouldn't want your mom to hear. If Australia IS the destination and not an escapism for you and your current situation, take your time and invest in it as if you are living in Australia right now. Not asking you to convert into a westernised person or an Aussie anytime soon, but to start understanding glimpse of westernised person or an Aussie, or even already fully westernised person from your race, religion, culture and country. Trust me, when you come over and meet people who you thought as your own people - there's nothing more shocking to see that they now have mixture of understanding and way of living culture. Prepare yourself for any shock which might come from living in a world that is - most likely - completely, utterly different to what you are expecting or living.
20. Absolutely terribly feel for your wait and anxiety, but shouldn't your only hope be actually getting the PR or having the case officer? I understand where you are coming from, and I absolutely feel for your wait and anxiety, but shouldn't your only hope be actually getting the PR or having the case officer? Don't cut your intelligence short - this kind of statement makes you sound like an idiot, as much as Sekena telling GAGAN what to do. Trust me, when you DO come to Australia it is going to be much harder to adjust and live as you dream and plan to. If you are withering at this challenge right now, how on earth are you going to adjust to newer and more prolonged challenge? How will you adjust to it when living in Australia ends up not being your dream or plan? Instead of mindlessly, blindingly coming to the forum every hour and day, go prepare yourselves. If you think getting IELTS 7 across-the-board to change to 885 will get you happier time in Australia, you are kidding yourselves and putting your family you are bringing to Australia at risk. Your religion will be questioned; Your culture will be questioned; Your conviction will also be questioned. You are hoping to migrate to Australia for brighter future for yourself and your family: Don't be that guy migrating to Australia with Masters in Engineering who ends up doing laundry shop with pitty reasoning of 'they won't hire my race' or 'they don't like immigrants'. Think long and hard, take this time to prepare beyond your reasoning. To keep people up-to-date is only one reason this forum is here: This forum is here to keep you informed, but to ensure you take on everything and anything to make sure you migrate to Australia as best as you possibly can. Don't let the long wait hinder that objective. (Serious posts make me all jumpy...)
21. Apologies if I sounded tad bit harsh there Richard, every case of 176 to 175 change and whatever repercussion (both positive and negative) would strictly be case-by-case basis. If you are able to change from 176 to 175 to begin with (which I would recommend MARA agent regardless of people here having an experience or not) rule of thumb is that you will be assess under point test valid at the time of your original application. Having said this, THIS TOO will have to be verified by MARA agent and DIAC representative. This sound full of crap and negativeness I know. Hang in there and all the best to you mate. Thanks,
22. We cannot answer this for you - please contact a certified Migration Agent on this.
23. In most cases, if you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you are eligible for HECS-HELP, which basically means you loan money from government for study. Answer is case-by-case with universities, but most of the times your son will still be classfied as an international student, with an up-front fee. Up-front fee also is uni-by-uni case, so best to check with each university institution your son is interested in. (NOTE, Not university you are interested to put your son in...)
24. Oh lordy. Copy pasting a quote with an unknown source does not make you any smarter when you aren't able to back up an accusation without any basis nor fact. If what you wish is a civilised debate, or a quote ridden post to 'one up' on people without actually voicing opinion at all, this is what I have for you: Quoting Churchill, what you wrote "... is bastard English, up with which I will not put". I felt the quote was so apt as 1. There's a profanity within the above quote, and 2. Quote itself is highly debated as to how Churchill exactly said it. Oh, you probably have no clue what I am condescendingly insinuating. Have I successfully hijacked what is now - unnecessarily - over 700 pages long topic? Do allow me to put the course of this thread back: There's various movements for all category 5 applicants towards - regardless of their application condition and category - PR grant. By all means express disgust, anger, or even contempt towards those who deals with our applications. We are here to share information, not merely to seek information. That means finding answers to questions before asking - your answer most likely have been answered in the most strenuous way possible. If it wasn't answered, it is most likely that we cannot give you an accurate nor correct answer. Do not question unanswerable to find solace and comfort, as this will surely undo your spirit. (no I did not copy paste that. I am sure some sage has used the above, but that's my own wording) Was that good enough for you all?
