  1. There are a few who've applied in June . I am a June 3rd Invited Applicant. I have applied on the same day and been waiting for a CO since.

  3. There are 190 applicants waiting to be invited by the department and they are waiting because their occupation ceilings had been met for the year. From tomorrow onwards, these ceilings would be reset which would mean instant invitations for such 190 applicants waiting as they wouldnt have to go through any invitation rounds set by the department. I am not sure how many such applicants are there but im only concerned if at all there are a lot of applicants waiting as they would get priority over 189 processing. I was just hoping if someone over here knew any more than what i do regarding this concern i have
  4. I understand there are many threads related to Visa 189. This thread has been created to discuss about the possible changes to Processing times for 189 applications from 1st July 2013 when a lot of 190 applications would enter the system for CO Allocation. When the Ceilings for various Occupations be reset on 1 July 2013, the backlog of Skilled-190 Visa applicants will be getting priority over 189 applications.. This concerns me because this could mean 189 waiting times could go up pretty significantly . Anyone have any idea of how things would work from July and should there be any concern about waiting times at all~!? Hopefully, DIAC is well equipped with decent number of staff to maintain Allocation standards.
  5. You're havin a hard time correcting things huh Millie??! Dont worry. I dont think the application would be rejected and all... But however, Why dont you message the eVisa Tech team to see what are the other options!? I think they may ask you to upload all docs once a CO has been allotted to you . Or maybe, they might give you the email address used by paper applicants to send their certified docs.. I do not see any problems arising from this mistake, however, please do act on it. Do send a query to the eVisa Tech team and maybe also to the Adelaide Skilled Processing centre citing the mistakes. It will be fine .
  6. You would have to get an Invitation for the 189 and once you lodge your application using this invitation, you will be granted the bridging visa which allows you to stay in Australia for the duration of your application processing until your application result. So the only thing is to apply for an invitation well in advance of your visas expiring cuz if visas expire before you get Invited and you apply, then you will have to leave the country or have another visa to continue stay in Australia.
  7. Yeah Fiona, I applied for my 189 Visa the same day I got the Invitation, generated a eMedical page through the eVisa link, booked an appointment, went and got my meds done 3 days later.!
  8. Well,, do get it right this time round..!! Think of yourself as a Case Officer and organize yourself that way..!! fun little role playing to get everything right this time around! .. All the best to you too.!
  9. Why dont you call up the DIAC and ask about your Case. You have been alloted a CO and so ,they should atleast let you know whats happening behind the scenes... Its their job. They better do it right!
  10. Yeah. Dint know you had a CO assigned.! And a CO assigned sooner than others!? -- Perks of being an American huh!? All the best.
  11. Collegegirl, You can do your Police Checks again if you think you will get it pretty soon, before a CO is allotted to you. Doesnt matter if you get it after a CO assigned too however you would have to give the CO the reason for submitting a second PCC cuz of validity reasons. Also, wouldnt it be safe for you to get another PCC anyway ,... cuz what if assigning of a CO gets delayed from the expected date.... Cuz if this happens, then they will request you to get a new valid PCC and provide it to them. So wouldnt it be better to work on it now itself..!? Just my thought. You would know whats the better thing to do.
  12. oh okay cuz in that case i cannot comment as I havent taken up their services recently . I did however apply for a PCC in 2011 and they gave it to me in a week. Things could have changed now but again, keep following up your case as I have heard the VFS hold up PCC Processing due to stupid reasons. . .
  13. Navid885, I understand the waiting periods. Getting an Indian PCC within India is a hard process. It is made hard due to the lack of speed at which the officials work at. The new PSK services are good. All done Online and so timelines are fast. However, If you have your PCC sent for Police Verification, Please keep following up with your Application progress. You would have to go to your Local police station and ask them to process your Verification faster as it is an urgent requirement for you. You might have to aslo do the Infamous Bribe giving to the concerned officer to get things done fast. This is Reality. This is India.
  14. Mirwais, you have not been allotted a case officer yet .It is good that you have uploaded all required documents and Im guessing you have completed your Health Checks.. Now, you will have to wait for your CO and once assigned , you would get a Grant pretty fast provided all documents are correct and just as asked for.
  15. RedHand , Congratulations on completing your processing. Could you please tell me if you were requested a FORM 80 at all? I have applied for the 189 visa on receiving my June 3rd Invitation. I have seen from your post and from another post that 189 Visas are getting Case Officers within 3 weeks to a months time. I have everything sorted out and all documents uploaded. Just waiting for a CO and further info . So i just thought if I should , then I might as well fill up the FORM 80 if they have been requesting it.
  16. Now how good would that be when everyone has such a timeline!!
  17. Definitely not 12 months as of now... It does not take more than 2 months to be assigned a case officer for a 189 Visa. This is how it has been till last month I can say. Could change from July 1 2013 as there will be a lot of other Visa Classes being Invited and they would fall in a upper priority class than the 189 Visas. So it could increase 189 processing times but I am just speculating here. I would not know for sure.!
  18. Its much safer and better if you apply before June ends so you would have applied for the Visa before July 1st and be waiting for a Case officer. I am not sure about this but after 1st July it could be a problem when you apply for a Visa which is not on the SOL. You would mention your Occupation once again when you apply for your Visa and pay the fees and what if this Occupation is not on the List or the Occupation code becomes Invalid. I am again not sure how this works but If it was me, I would lodge my Application before the June ends . I would not want to risk things after getting this far . Cheers
  19. Hey there, are u applying from Overseas or from India?
  20. Hey there maimenon, I do have the Current Address as the same address in the passport. But I believe I am going through a Police Verification as my Passport was issued in Melbourne . If it was issued at the same place that I am now trying to get my PCC done, which in my case is the Coimbatore Passport Seva Kendra, then I will have to undergo a Police Verification because of the different place of issue in the passport. They really are stupid rules and this Police Verification system is pretty outdated. But I have to do what I have to do. I have to still keep pushing these officials to do the job that they are being paid to do. Life is hard in India for sure.!
  21. Hey Thanks Sarah and Rajmunbd ,, Thank you and it is relatively easy to get these certificates from an Indian High Commission overseas but currently I am in India and you might just know how things work here. Its gotten a little better over the years now but I still have to push the Police here to process my Verification. Out here, getting things done needs a bit of running around offices.. I was hoping for someone with a similar experience of getting a PCC in mother India. I did apply for a PCC in Melbourne in 2011 and I got in a weeks time. So Yeah, Atleast our government is more efficient overseas and it should always be the other way around. Anywayy..... Thanks guys.
  22. Hi I just applied for a Skillselect 189 visa this month and I have received an Invitation for a Visa. My score was 60 points. And the Accountant Occupation has the highest quota on the SkillSelect list and since it has only crossed the half mark for the quota when it is time for a renewal of quotas in July, I would think that they still need Accountants in a large number. If you are lucky to get your Employer to give you a Junior Accountant referral that will be good and you will be able to claim that 5 points which will make it 60 and you can apply on September of the following month. Otherwise, you could work on your IELTS Score and get the 8 in writing that you failed to achieve , im pretty sure that was tough luck cuz I feel your pain,. I had a pretty similar score too. Or else, If you wait for the NSW State sponsorship to restart from July 1, 2013 and if Accounting is still on their list , you can go ahead and apply for a State Sponsorship. I see that you do not work in NSW, if you actually were working there ,NSW sponsorship would have been easier to get... However, you can try their sponsorship even otherwise. These are the options I could think of. You still have a lot of time for July 2014. Work on these options or other ones which you might pick up from someone else and you will get to where you want to mate. Just keep doing what you have to do.

    Form 80

Form 80 basically is for future reference for officials in case of any crimes or disputes or whatever issues might pop up during your stay in Australia. The info. you provide will be used as 'Records' of your character. Your Police Checks will also back these info. .. So its basically just information you provide for reference and so you really do not have to be super accurate, but it should be sensible. Provide all the right information and you should be alright ,. Nothing to worry about .
  24. Why are they asking for your patience instead of telling you whats your stats on your visa application. They have a system and its fair to let the client know at what stage they are in.
  25. Hey, , I do not think you need to worry mate. You have an Employer who is ready to sponsor you. And I see that your occupation is on the SOL. Now, all you have to do is see if you achieve the 60 points minimum you would need to apply for the Skillselect Visa application. The more points you have the better. I do not have info on any good lawyers in Cairns. Hopefully some one else over here can help. Stay calm. Stay genuine. Work hard and you'll be paid off for the efforts put in. Take Care
