  1. umshiva, Why dont you consult a Migration agent!? If you are on your 457 visa, after 90 days, if you dont hear anything about your 189 application ( most likely you will as it takes only 8 weeks and you applied on June 3rd) you will be on a Bridging Visa and this is worst case if you ever have to go into being in Australia on a Bridging Visa. I am assuming you will be granted a visa in the next two weeks if you have already uploaded all documents and done with medicals and Pcc. I say this as I am also expecting grant within the next two weeks. I have sent in all documents possible to complement my visa application. If you havent done so, I suggest you provide ALL relevant documents. Theres no way you will be treated any different from other applicants with regards to processing times. They have the rule of 8 weeks and you WILL be allotted a CO within this time period. If there is further Security Checks or medical referrals, only then will there be delays. I suggest that you relax and not be stressed or if you need professional help get a MARA agent onboard to help your case.
  2. Sheravanan I see you have been allotted a CO. Has he given you any details about Medical referrals or External Check update??! If not, Try Emailing the CO and politely ask him/her what is the status of your Visa application. Alternatively, It is also good to call the DIAC and ask them politely that it has been too long and you have not received any updates from CO and so you are very worried about this . They will usually give you details of whether you have been referred for medicals or if you are undergoing external security checks.

  4. You've waited for so long. Wait for their stipulated time. You'd most probably be granted within that time. If no response, only then worry about further options.. All the best.
  5. samlee, i was reading your grant post and singing those words of Grant in my mind.... almost shows how much im obsessed in hearing the word Grant and how much im waiting for a Grant myself. Congratulations and all the best for your future endeavours.
  6. Congrats Bijit So currently May applicants being assigned CO's... I believe next week or the week after would be June applicants getting assigned.. \However, Seeing is believing .! or was it believing is seeing.!? Im confused.... Bijit , could you tell me the date of your lodgement please?
  7. Yeah ,, looks like applicants from high risk countries or whove been to one shouls have to plan to apply Australian visas and give themselves a huge waiting timeline.... This is even harder and time consuming than planning for a baby and the 9 months of waiting ants everything .. It really is a pity
  8. From what I see,, the Department and those High Risk countries should put in a genuine effort to speed up external checks.. Countries in Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and some middle eastern countries give a lot of applicants a real hard time in getting their External checks processed. Such checks affect a lot of Australian Visa subclasses and I hope to see some form of stepping up the game in terms of External Checks. I fully agree with doing external checks . No second thoughts about that. I just hoped the countries work towards improving the process.
  9. Yeah yeah!! only if you were in their shoes would you be trying to find out Why such delays and nothing being done about it!. Dont wanna play no blame game. Let the Thread end here as I do not see anything changing.!
  10. I was talkin about snowden as my example for the post above btw...
  11. And unless YOU have been living under the rocks or a cave for the last few months ( Pardon my dry humor too) or even a longer time, theres no reason why Australia doesnt have to do external checks on No Risk country applicants too for arguments sake. When you have done Official Police Checks on you,, whats this external check about... And hey,, I know all about the risks and checks.. I was just arguing there just to counter that pun you never apparently intended ,,, and I would never want Australia or anyone to blindly accept official documents and hope they keep doing external checks on high risk countries which is logical and fine. But I was just thinking why Checks are performed on each and every applicant from such high risk countries.. There should be some kinda criteria.
  12. Background Checks / Internal Checks / External Checks. They give it different names After all the request Character documents and other document have been submitted, the Department asks certain applicants from certain countries to wait for external checks to be done on them . This would shoot up the timeline and the applicants end up waiting for a very extended periods of time, around 6 months or longer. This has to be really hard on the Applicant who has gone through a lot of work in compiling and readying all required documents and getting police clearances from the respective countries and then again, they go for this ASIO led External Checks. I understand it could be for security and integrity purposes, but I am here to get all people waiting for such checks and get an idea of what these Security checks are, why are they being targeted at only certain countries, and whether every applicant from that country goes through such external checks (Onshore and Offshore) or if not, what seems to be the qualifying factors for not requiring an external check. If there could be a brainstorming of this issue, i am hoping atleast some applicants could benefit. I currently have seen applicants from Bangladesh, Pakistan , African Countries (excl. South Africa) being put through for External Checks. And I have no idea about India, China, US, the Middle East countries on their external check requirements. I understand the high/low risk categories for countries, but my doubt is why only some High risk countries being counted for external checks!? If anyone have their views , info or ideas.....
  13. For Health Checks, you would have to click on the ORGANIZE HEALTH CHECK FOR THE APPLICANT Link on the eVisa portal. This link should be visible under the list of documents required list and just above the documents received list. Click on it, Generate a Referral letter by following the prompts and Call your nearest Panel Physician , Book the appointment and get it done. They will advice you what to bring in, and you can fill all required forms before hand if needed and take it with you along with your passport photographs which will be requested. Once all tests are done, they will send it directly to the department via the eHealth system. And your job here would be done with regards to medicals.
  14. GVD We don't even have a co assigned so you're somewhat better off than some of here .... But I guess in a week or two you'll be getting the grant from the timelines I have seen . They're probably doing final checks or maybe even playing Xbox who knows ?! All the best for you anyway .
  15. Wrong attitude mate,, a Very Wrong Attitude! You my friend are no different from the accused 'racist' Australians that you've been blaming and Yes there are a few but NEVER ALL, and so DO NOT GENERALIZE. There are racists who really do not have better things to do and have immature brain growth problems and this is prevalent in every country and every society, Hell, Indians are such racists amongst Indians themselves. We still follow the caste system for heavens sake .. If it doesnt work for you in Australia, do relocate. It sure as hell doesnt work for me in India, so I am in Australia and I will just not play the BLAME GAME OF RACISM on Australians, instead be a better citizen of Australia to my full capacity. And you should too, wherever you ARE! God help you and such similar attitude people of ALL RACES.
  16. The Processing Time list has been updated in the DIAC website. However, All information is the same, except for the updated list date. So , 189 Visas are still going to be allocated to a CO within 8 weeks of lodgement. Thats kinda good news to me.
  17. Yeah, as Nomadgreen said, Do not generalize/...! Ofcourse there are a few issues and all sides are to blame. Since you've brought up the discrimination against Indians because you are one ( I am too), I would say Indians have to be blamed also. We abuse the system and we try to find loopholes and just abuse them for our own temporary or permanent advantage. This happens from the Individual level to the Corporate level (if you've been reading the news). Ofcourse, the Developed ethical race ( As they would like to be related to) also indulge in unfair practices (again, if you've been reading the news im talking about the American alliance internet spying ) and they kinda get away with it. And no one really is standing against them. No ones really blaming them. But hey,, We (Indians for an example) cannot really stand against them or play the blame game cuz we have our own wrong doings to tackle and just look at me here, I just generalized Indians on the whole when actually it is just a few percentage of Indians abusing the system. So please do not generalize. I have been in Australia for 4 years now and to survive and be at par with fellow aussies at work or in the community, You have to fit in to the culture,, Just like any other ethnicity would have to fit in to our Indian Culture if they were to stay in India ( Although India's getting heavily westernized in a different way). Australia might not be like the US, its a shame and that multicultural society and the related psyche has not fully kicked in yet but following the idiom 'When it rome, do as the romans do' just might help in Australia.
  18. ivetka233, I wish the Case officers get on with visa processing as fast as you're opening of new threads... Great work. They (CO's) could actually learn a thing or two from you..
  19. Lebourvellec,, I Was kinda right with my speculation . The July 1st reset of occ ceilings will increase 190 processing as a lot of applicants with state sponsorship has received invitation and applied for the visa . This means priority processing for 190 visas will increase and 189 just might be pushed back .
  20. Bijit, If its taking any longer , do you wanna try calling them up ?? From a lot of timelines, I might predict your CO being assigned next week or maybe even this week... But hey,, this is only prediction and I aint gettin paid for this too. All the very best.
  21. Edzi, What I have put in was not official information but from my calculations of how the system has been working for the past 1 year. All applicants in 189 who've applied for visas through skillselect with 60 points have been issued an Invitation before 1st July 2013. So, I would calculate that there was a lot of applicants for the occupations which hit the ceiling last year and they were on the system already and a lot of them apparently had 65+ points. Now, Since most of them must have now got invites, the department would now start issuing Invitations for applicants with 60 points. You would most probably get an Invitation in the second round of the month or on the 1st round next month for sure. Whatever it is, stay chill. Things will work well for you pretty soon.
  22. Applicants for 189 having 65 points and above have received an invitation on 1 July 2013 . Applicants with 60 points for 189 would have to wait for the second invite round in July 2013.
  23. Yeah sure,, I understand that. But I was just concerned about those 190 Visa backlogs which apparently doesnt work the way I thought it would. And yes, I do agree that the Skilled migration processing is pretty fast now. But when a lotta people talk about concerns of the CO's not being alloted within the timeframe, im just getting worked up... I am hoping for the best and Thank you for the assistance.
  24. Haseeb, I see your timeline says that you havent been allocated to a CO. From the timeline, you have been waiting for just over 2 months now,, have you tried to contact them or something!? They should've assigned you a CO by now...
  25. Thanks lebourvellec, You've enlightened me. Sigh of relief *
