1. You've been dishing out rep to the wrong person all this time
2. Highly unlikely, but if you can get some sleep until the morning when everything re opens then it will be a big help.
3. Not sure if it's intentional or not but that post is so full of double entendres. I'm guessing it was deliberate. Anyway, that's only 49 likes to go!
4. I don't care about likes, I just want reputation  Got some the other day but the message disappeared before I saw who it was from otherwise I would have made sure I liked their next 50 posts regardless of what they posted
5. Worked for a couple of US multinationals where the "big boys" had worked their way up from the shop floor with no formal qualifications. As a result, no-one put any "letters" on their business cards so as not to look like a knob and show up the senior executives when swapping cards. I think it's a good thing as you are known by your name and role within the company rather than there being a p1ssing competition around the office. Academic ability and common sense are often inversely related in my experience.
6. If you have space, take it and you can sell anything you don't need later.

I don't have a cordless hedge though.

Yep you can buy vouchers with them for a couple of places or if you are feeling generous you can gift them to a number of charities too. Just log on to the website and take a look. The redeem them options are pretty limited - I was just having a look myself recently.
9. Oh dear. Trying not to raise my blood pressure on that one but how many Poms called a (food) buffet a "buff it" or a "buff ay"? Let's not go down that route (thats root or rowt depending on where your influence comes from, see above)
10. Thanks Cez. We would be dropping them both off at the airport but that's a good idea for when they go through security / departures.
11. Ah, so it's only if the courts are involved. No issue there then. Thanks.
12. I know that you can't take a child out of Australia without the other half's consent, but what about if they are travelling with their grandparents? Situation is that my MIL is coming down from the UK and is going to take our daughter up to Singapore for a holiday. FIL will join them there when he crew changes from the vessel he is working on. We will go up and join them later in the holiday but just wanted to know if we have to do/sign anything to let our daughter leave with grandma. Thanks in advance.
13. Will the ABI not help or do they side with their members?
14. In fairness to the OP, the question was more around the American influence which has probably been well answered by the closer proximity to the US and the volume of US programmes shown here. No-one has mentioned rego, ambo, bottlo, preso and the like which I find endearing and wouldn't want anyone to change to their "proper" words.
15. So the seppos learned it from you guys. Is that what you're saying?
16. Or are they asking for your medical history from day 1 as opposed to from whatever happened to put you on income protection?
17. From the sample info on page 2 it doesn't look like anything you or your GP haven't already given them. What's your reluctance to complete the form? All I can see is them getting in a table format instead of having to pull it all together themselves from what you have given them.
18. I'm sure there was a similar thread recently about travel insurance but maybe I was mistaken. Maybe you can search the archives.

20.

Bit of a joker, me, but not to the exclusion of being helpful when I have something useful to offer.

21. I think the airline would normally suck up the costs (not in their interest to deny someone medical attention) but may try and recover through the traveller's insurance. Probably depends how close the plane is to its destination though. Not much you can do half way across the Pacific Ocean I know you can be made liable if it is the result of disruptive behaviour although I think they just cable tie you to your seat if they can.
22. Route (row t) and router (row ter) where row is like argument rather than row a boat is the only one I really notice but only from some Australians. edit How do you say chance and dance differently? long A sound?
23. It's not the only thing like this. Most companies who fund professional studies (accountancy qualifications, degree courses etc) will also have some sort of agreement in place for employees who leave within a certain period of time. It's only reasonable to have a commitment from both parties.
