  1. if you are up to the job of cleaning the roller brushes and washing out the dust container (simple tasks) then bring it. Had no problems getting our one in. new dyson here will cost 700 bucks or more depending on what you want just replaced the motor on our one earlier this year. Ironically it came from a company on the Isle of Wight (via ebay) as it was far cheaper than sourcing one here but it's got a new lease of life
  2. Is it all stray dogs, or just the gay ones?
  3. My two cents if you are going on a PR then sell up. knowing that you still have a property that you could return to "tomorrow" could mess with your head and make you less likely to settle. cut your ties like we did and sell up.
  4. Stayz is a very popular site used by many people in this position. Check it out and see if you think you could compete against something established like this. Good luck with your plans.
  5. Just hanging on for a migration agent to say that's what they are there for...

    mattress sizes

Hi, give this one a try: http://www.fortywinks.com.au/bed-size.html
  7. Congrats. Picked up on the title incorrectly and thought nanny as in "au pair" :embarrassed:
  8. It used to be 2 but changed several years back. As well as the 4 years, there are restrictions on the number of days you can be absent from Australia during that period.
  9. Yep, it's pretty clear on the immi website re validity of IELTS, Medicals and police checks. you've learned the hard way.
  10. There are a number of agents on here so I'm sure someone will give you advice shortly once the UK wakes up. i guess the main factor would be whether he was a one man band or part of a bigger organisation. hope you are back on track soon.
  11. Does that mean the alphabet would start at "D"? Can't start to imagine the confusion that would cause.
  12. So it was you fault we ended up paying $25 a kilo for them last time:wink: Seriously though, I hope everyone stays safe and damage to property and livelihoods is minimal.
  13. I just checked the ICAA website and there is a tertiary qualification i.e. degree route too. Came as a surprise to me. I echo the others in terms of having ACCA or CIMA though to help your employment prospects down the line. I know what AAT is but doubt many Australians would however or they would probably treat it like a Cert IV which is a bit like HND level if those still exist in the UK. CIMA has an advantage over ACCA in that you can obtain CPA through mutual recognition, or at least you used to. Not sure if they extended the period that they were granting it for as it is a while since I did this. CIMA is also "easier" than ACCA having seen what my OH had to do compared to my syllabus. That was a good few years ago though so may have changed. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
  14. Hi and welcome to PIO To the best of my recollection, AAT is not recognised as a full accountancy qualification i.e. it is not deemed to be the equivalent of ACCA/CIMA/CA/ACA/CIPFA Take a look at the Australian CPA or ICAA websites as both will have sections of what they require for skills assessment purposes to determine whether you meet the criteria or not.
  15. If it's bigger items we were told that a disposable nappy would be great for absorbing moisture

    And another one....

You might want to add a question mark to the title or reword it. He's only been charged so not officially a pervert until he pleads guilty or the verdict from a trial decides he is guilty.
  17. I worked in the health service many years ago and our community dietetics manager was not exactly an advert for the service she was delivering. I have no idea what her "deal" was but I'm willing to bet it was not dietary related so no-one should prejudge anyone just by looking at them.
  18. I also moved a six figure sum through MoneyCorp. There was no need to notify HMRC as it was the proceeds from sale of our property. MC asked what the source of the money was for anti money laundering purposes as Nic mentioned. It may be different if the money is not yours though. Drop MC an email and they will give you a call back at their cost even though you are in Oz and talk you through how it all works and answer any questions/concerns you may have. Definitely not a plug from me, but could not fault their customer service when I used them.
  19. MoneyCorp or ozforex are both reputable companies who will give you a better than bank rate.
  20. We have friends who do the smoking cessation hypnotherapy with a high level of success. They have just started doing an "ideal weight" hypnotherapy course as opposed to hypno gastric banding.
  21. That's because we'd have to wait until Christmas for a public holiday after the WA Day in June otherwise
  22. melbourne climate probably best to "break yourself in". Can be 4 seasons in one day at times...
  23. Neither is Trouping the Colour for that matter although it is her "official" birthday
  24. Perth's the closest city if you want to "just get here" otherwise you will add more flight time going to the eastern states.

    Airlines

ABBA - Anyone But British Airways (or Qantas for that matter) Stick with your Asian or Middle Eastern carriers and you can't go far wrong. Malaysian Airlines is another option or for a really different routing, Air Mauritius could be worth checking out.
