    Airlines

ABBA - Anyone But British Airways (or Qantas for that matter) Stick with your Asian or Middle Eastern carriers and you can't go far wrong. Malaysian Airlines is another option or for a really different routing, Air Mauritius could be worth checking out.
  2. We get a public holiday for the Queen's birthday every year  Not sure how many birthdays she actually has in a year as it is taken at different times in different states.
  3. It's not part of the EU. Our politicians aren't any better but at least we don't have Brussels interfering every two minutes.
  4. A lot of people I know stay fit through jumping to conclusions
  5. Maybe have a word with one of the international shippers for advice. I know that anything flammable is typically a no no for going in a container (not sure how this applies to vehicles) and clean is going to be like new. AQIS place very tight controls on pollens and the like coming in from overseas and even moving between states. best guess would be to sell them and buy new here rather than risk having them being destroyed or having to have them professionally cleaned at this end, both of which you would be charged for.
  6. Not sure if it depends on the visa category but when I did mine, a colour scan of an original document was treated as an original with no need to have it certified.
  7. Link to the Davos 2014 global wage calculator. Not sure why the link goes to CNN but that's what news.com.au are using in their story.... http://edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2014/davos/global-wage-calculator/index.html?hpt=hp_c3
  8. and there's big debate as to whether it's from Australia or New Zealand but that would be a totally different thread...
  9. you must be fading away to nothing given some of the stuff I've seen come and go over the last few days
  10. Especially the square ones. I wish I knew how to cross reference threads...
  11. Where do mods and admins fit into that? Number 7? I imagine you are a bunch of lardy fat @rses who just sit around all day deleting our posts on a whim! (you know I love you all really )

    About the country

So they can troll themself and hopefully bait some others on the way, but won't work here. Go back to FB Sam/Roger or whoever you are or if you truly have something useful to contribute let PQ close both accounts and start off on fresh foot. third time lucky, perhaps
  13. Depends what you have but remember it was probably damn hot in the shipping container on the way over at times too. CDs, records (LOL), electrical items and the like probably won't take too kindly to the heat for long periods but household stuff is probably okay.

    About the country

Don't you just love our admins/mods? No pulling the wool over their eyes.
  15. or sober. let's hope the next thread I visit is better... (note to self to unsubscribe from this one)
  16. Would love to hear the details but guess it's not something you can share given the other party is potentially still on here.
  17. I know what you mean really
  18. being an an idiot online has a far larger audience reach though
  19. Those conversations do take place. I have scuppered previous employees of mine even getting an interview never mind a job offer and it has probably happened to me too. No company is going to admit that a FB (or other social media) check is part of their formal recruitment process, but believe me, it happens...
  20. Lady Rainicorn beat you to this story - in the UK news forum
  21. Recommended one on a post recently (mima shaw) don't know to link to it but just search for settlement agent in the search box at the top. Doesn't matter where they are located tbh as we never met face to face.
  22. Or as an alternative, how about trying ICAA for a skills assessment. I appreciate that's more money and a delay but you already have the evidence collected for your CPA assessment. I used ICAA for what it's worth (CIMA qualified)
  23. Always supported my corner shop and local post office when I can. PIO is here to stay as long as there are those who want to emigrate.
