  5. Oh burswood aye, in other words you spent $60 on the food and blowed the rest in the casino......lol
  6. It's slowed up now a bit but still loads more work than in the uk from what I've heard, good luck working with the new gauge as well......lol Two brick high by a brick and a half long, the same again but only a brick in height (long reach) oh yea and wait till you see the damp .....lol....internals don't get mud between in the perps only in the first course and on the corners, yea it'll seen strange at first but you'll get used to it quite easy. Good luck Daz
  7. Yea when you get here the first thing you'll need to get will be a shovel....lol
  8. Seriously, you'll turn up they'll give you a drawing of a single skin corner racked up one side with cut up done with hammer and bolster, no disc cutter......lol....then the return is shorter but squared up,i think off memory one side was 4 long and the other was 5.5, oh and a pillar about 600mm away from one end, pillar was about 15 course high with a corble on top and filled in with headers, just make Sure you use a square cause they will to check it and follow the drawing to the letter, oh yea gauge they check so make Sure it's spit on and use a string line when seeing out pillar to wall cause he'll check with a long straight edge. You'll have to set out the cavity but only one course but make sure you use the ties all the way up spaced and in the right course, oh and they pull on them too to see if you've missed any and pushed them in later.....lol . Apart from that though that's about all it is,i think there was only about 230 bricks in it so it won't be the hardest days work you've ever done....lol Good luck but I'm sure you won't need it. Ps That's when i did mine but i was in the first ones to ever do it so don't know if it's changed
  9. Sorry i can't help you on that one, that option want available when i did mine a few years ago,i can't see it being that hard to be honest if the actual test is anything to go by.

  14. There aren't any carpenters here, all chippies do here is hang a few doors and put up a couple of shelves, unless you're on the roofing then that's all you do, quite a lot of chippies waste their time bringing over their tools,i know one who was just shuttering and only needed a nail bar.....lol....some go into paramount sheeting but as far as being like a Chippie in the uk goes FORGET IT
  15. But don't forget also the reasons you left Ireland in the first place, they will still be there, the first 12 months are always the hardest,i think you should of least given it a bit longer

  22. Thanks for a great post,i was saying the same thing in an earlier post, the trouble is people forget why they spent so much time and money on getting to oz and forget far to easily why the reasons were they left in the first place.
