    2nd RRV

Hi Has anyone applied for a second RRV offshore and not been successful with the application? If so what reasons were given for the refusal? Thanks Emma
  2. Its so nice to hear that I am not the only one who can't settle! To the OP good luck and I hope whatever happens all works out for you and your family! Emma
  3. I would agree with Stacey, you can't make her. Is a holiday an option for you then she would be able to see it for herself?
  4. Hi Just wondered if any of you good people on here that have been back and forward between Uk & Oz could share your stories? Why did you go to Oz in first place? How long did you stay in Oz? What made you return to UK? Are you going back to Oz again? Look forward to hearing your stories! Emma :cute:
  5. Hello Can anyone tell me if British ( Scottish) qualifications have any holding in Australia? I ask because my friend is due to start HNC course in August but is also currently going thru the immigration process and was asking me if there was any point or whither the qualification would count for nothing in Oz? Thanks in advance Emma
  6. Seven Seas were brilliant! Would have no problem recommending them

  8. The DIAC site will tell you all you need to know.
  9. Yeah, you get your documents back once the process is under way! Dont stress, its a good sign!
  10. Declare it on your incoming passenger card and you should be fine!
  11. Unique is one way of putting it I suppose!!
  12. I'm just surprised you remember any of it cause it all seems like a blur to me!!
  13. I actually got my rrv in 2010, I am sure that the conditions for granting were the same as now so it was completely down to my case officers discretion that allowed me to be allowed mine!
  14. Yes, they do. I had been offshore for many years but thanks to a strong family and a very understanding case officer at the Perth DIAC office I was granted a rrv. It can happen. Good Luck
  15. Hi See reply I got from migration consultant after asking about 2 year requirement for RRV. Hope it helps! Emma Hi Emma, Here is the specific information about the 2 out fo 5 years residence requirement: To obtain an RRV visa with a 5 year travel facility you must have: - been physically present in Australia for a total of at least 2 years in the last 5 years and throughout that 2 years was a permanent resident or Australian citizen - the 2 years must have been as a permanent visa holder and/or an Australian citizen - the applicant does not have to have 2 years consecutive residence, provided the time they have spent totals at least 2 years - that is, 730 days. - during that 5 year period, any periods during which the applicant held: a temporary visa (other than a Border visa or ETA that the applicant held at the same time as a permanent visa) or a bridging visa (whether or not that bridging visa was in effect) cannot be counted towards the 2 year total. Cheerio, Veronika
  16. A as you are on a Permanent Visa not a Temp Visa. Hope you have a good trip!

    RRV Question

Hello Just wondered if anyone could answer question I have! It states in the eligibilty for this visa that you have had have been in Australia as a resident for 2yrs out the past 5, is this a consectutive 2 years or just periods of time that make up 2yrs? Many thanks Emma :cute:
  19. Sad to say no it does not get any easier! I have been doing for 22 years and its still as upsetting as it was! Just try not to over think it. Good luck xx
  20. Well for those that remember me I had a roller coaster journey to get to Australia and when I did it all went wrong so decided that I wanted to come home to Edinburgh. I have now been home in Edinburgh 9 months. For the first 6 months I was really happy and I was back working where I used to work, nice wee house, friends and I felt good. I still love Edinburgh but I am struggling to survive. It has become VERY expensive to live here and unfortunately the wages do not reflect that. It is with this in mind and the fact that my parents who were planning on coming back to Scotland have decided not to return that I now find myself thinking about going back to Australia. I NEVER in a million years thought I would be thinking like this but looking at the work that is available in Perth and the salaries compared to here in Edinburgh I know that I would have a much better lifestyle back in Perth. I have written a pro's & cons list about a dozen times and every time Perth has the most pro's but the one that Edinburgh has every time and this is what is keeping me from making the move is that its home! I don't know why but the thought of not living in Edinburgh scares me so much and I get that horrible sick sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach each time I think about leaving! I know that I have to start taking the emotion out of it though and start being practical as I am not getting any younger, I am still single and not got a pot to pee in so I need to start thinking about my future and where I can provide the best one for myself....this at the moment is Australia! :arghh: I know that I am the only person that can make this decision but I thought it would be good just to get how I was feeling out and I know that there are those of you that will empathize with how I am felling where as my friends here don't understand! Oh what to do! Emma x
