I've just actually transferred a 100k + amount using HIFX -have to say excellent service and rates and the whole thing was done in a few days , kept me updated each step of the way and very impressed with the service, No fees incurred for larger amounts and way better than bank rates. Just thought I would recommend them as its always something to consider when moving back and the way the market is going at the moment its hard enough trying to 'predict' if its going to get better or worse without having to worry about who your dealing with

I've been in Oz 7 years now and am flying back to the UK this Tuesday. Apart from the weather I really don't see me missing too much from Aus. Financially I am far better in the UK and can afford to buy a house, here in Aus I have no chance as property prices are beyond my financial reach. I must admit I have struggled with the culture here, I think Australia has many wonderful things eg the cleanliness, the weather, the shorter working hours etc but I miss British humour soooo much. Australia just seems to me to be a mini USA, quite 'sheep' minded in many ways IMO. Really looking forward to going back to the UK , at least I feel I will be able to 'be myself' much more than I have over here. I don't regret coming but I think 7 years is long enough to 'give it a go' and it just wasn't for me.

Well finally after being here for 7 years I have decided to return to the UK. Combination of a few things but basically I don't get along with the Australian culture and since being here have made very few friends . Whilst the weather is great and the lack of crime etc has a lot of bonus points going for it, having lived in several other countries and always enjoyed a lively social life, this is the first place I have ever come across where I have had difficulty in doing so. Back to the UK for me I think! Anyway enough of my ramblings, I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction regarding shipping items back to the UK. Basically I will not be taking any furniture with me but do want to ship back some personal stuff-I estimate about 6 average size shipping/packing cases. Is there a company that will do this or do they only focus on larger items/container loads etc. If anyone can recommend /suggest a company or any idea of cost it would be much appreciated regards
