  1. Had the best brekkie I've ever had last Sunday, place called Cucina Tabella in Freo. Dish was called 'Meat at Dawn', basically steak, italian sausage, bacon, bean/chorizo etc. Spent the weekend in Freo. Great place, love people watching there, everyone is mental!
  2. 'News on TV' around the World isn't a true picture, it's all agenda driven. You only have to look at what the BBC has become over the past 15 years. If it can happen to that institution, it can happen to any.
  3. I think the lesson in general that you can take from this site is, if you're a content, proactive, positive person, you stand a better chance of enjoying your life than if you're a miserable, shoe-gazing so-called 'realist' who is looking for an opportunity to stick the boot in wherever possible. And that goes for wherever you live. There's a few on here, I feel sorry for their families if that's what they're really like, it must be torturous listening to that negativity all the time. Well, it's either that or they just come on here to troll and b-sh1t. One or the other. Either way, not good.
  4. Mate, I'll save you the bother of reading through 13 pages of arguing. These are the reponses you'll get; It's crap It's boring It's expensive The people are bogans The youth are disaffected The suburbs are disgusting There's nothing to do Erm ... it's boring Stay where you are. Endeth of threadeth.
  5. Yeah, we said we'd try Nobu next, not been there. Been to Modo Mio, that's great, as is the French place. New Chinese looks very posh. The Atrium is always good as well, we take any visitors we have there. The turnover of the place must be insane. Walking round the casino, there was hardly a spare seat at a table or any of the machines.
  6. Woolies is better than Coles. IGA is too expensive here. Although I would defo shop at Aldi if we had them here. We used to shop at Aldi in the UK, easily the best supermarket there. You do get Hyacinth Buckets who wouldn't step through their door, my Mum is one, but once you do, their stuff is great. Asda is the worst, it's pants.
  7. Mate, I think we have different interpretations of the words "skill" and "shite".
  8. Maybe. But I think driving about 2 feet from the back of your car flashing you to go quicker, weaving all over the freeway, not getting in the correct lane then swinging across 3 lanes at the last minute to exit the freeway, stopping traffic while you indicate to push in a line because you can’t be bothered queuing for 2 minutes, indicating left, right or not at all with no consistency at roundabouts, very little indication in general etc. etc. are all signs of shite driving. I travel to work on normal roads now as I would do anything to avoid driving on the freeway. Above all else, I can’t hear myself think because of the bloody stupid exhausts everyone has.
  9. I agree. It's rife in WA. Said in another thread, driving on a Friday night is like running the gauntlet. Driving standards in general are shite. They should make the tests harder and not let 18 yr old lads drive round in Formula 1 cars.
  10. We used to go for a walk along the canal. Halcyon days (not).
  11. No! A ledge. Should have been Bond. RIP.
  12. The pork belly roll is legendary. Absolutely gorgeous. Had lunch there a good few times.
  13. Try this, it's easier. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/profile.php?do=ignorelist
  14. Stayed there last week for our Anniversary/Der Fuhrer's birthday. A fantastic hotel, we've stayed in some great places in US, Mexico, Caribbean etc. but it's up there with the very best. Went to Rockpool, outstanding. Anyone been? What do you reckon? The Merrywell pub is great, and there are about 5 bars inside the casino now. Spent the whole day by the pool, it's like a Puff Daddy video. The ale and food price isn't so bad but the room cost can be severe. We had a deal, $199, which was a bargain to be fair.

    Sickened

He should be put down. Sick of hearing stories like this. People like this have no place in society and should be removed.

    Guilty.

Yeah, must admit, don't know anything about this.
  17. Possibly. Some of my faves; Saw a car driving down the grass-strip central reservation, around Warwick. Looked across and the female driver was slumped over the steering wheel, the car then ambled and came to a stop against a tree. Passed through a booze bus check and saw a woman being carried out of her car by the police, unable to walk. There were about 12 cars on the side of the road. Went round the freeway bend by Hepburn Ave and had to swerve to miss a car. A bloke had just parked on the freeway to get out and have a drink under the freeway exit bridge. Well it was a warm day.
  18. The Mrs always wanted to move to Australia and I didn’t, until we went on holiday to Mexico in 2006 that is. Had a great time, holiday atmos was superb. Until … the plane home broke through the clouds over Manchester airport, a greyness filled the cabin and you could instantly hear everyone deflate back into their mundane, complaining, brow-beaten, black-and-white personas. And I just thought, “why not?”. There and then, I planned our escape. Some people’s reality of the UK is green, rolling hills, leather on willow with a spot of Pimms, stiff upper lips and Earl Grey tea, and that’s all great. My reality was concrete, clouds and rain, miserable faces, doom and gloom and chavs. I probably could have moved somewhere else in the UK but, realistically, if you’re going to move away from your family you may as well go for it. I’ve worked all over the UK and found it to be much of a muchness so it was a bit of a no-brainer in the end. My Mrs has more family over here now than she does in the UK so that works well for us.
  19. The most dangerous experience in WA is driving about 7.30 on a Friday night. Half the people on the roads are wasted.
  20. Kevin Pietersen’s boring. He was moaning last week that no-one in Brisbane was on twitter. Maybe they’re all too busy having a life Kev.
  21. We had one of those fires in the UK. We used to watch that more than the telly.
  22. I'd agree with the last 2 comments. Every weekend people are killed on the roads in Perth (there have been incidents again this weekend) but everyone still gets in their car. If the beach and ocean is not your thing, I'd question your motivation in moving to WA. That's the best thing the place has to offer.
  23. What is the wait time like on getting citizenship? Just filling forms in now.
