bonza2211
Hi there and thanks. My advice is it's best to lodge both DRC at the same time so it is allocated to the same CO. If not lodged the same time, it will take time. If the other one is non-DRC, it goes to the pipeline. I am a firm believe of this school of thought. However my firm is undergoing some structural changes and currently I am able to initiate the Nomination process which may also take a few weeks before being ready. If the management changes I may not have this liberty. VETASSESS I haven't yet lodged my application and I assume it will take 12-16 weeks tops for this. Just somehow feel secure that I have an approved nomination sitting in the pipeline early enough. Lets see how things pan out. However I'd definitely recommend lodging at one go to anyone looking for a swift actioned approval. SunshineAndSmiles
Finally I have good news to share. This afternoon I just got my NOM and VISA approved within an hour of each other. Timeline as follows: Applied DRC NOM & VISA at Parramatta on 29.6.2012 Ack letter dated 29.6.2012 No word from CO under straight approval of Nom & Visa today 28.09.12. Exactly 13 weeks so in my case I must of been allocated a case officer within the 10-12 week guideline. I'm really in shock but good luck to everyone. I will keep l

Hi Sara's, I too have put in a DRC in the end of July and have heard nothing other than an acknowledgement. So I think it's going to just fall in line with all the rest of DRC s. As far as I know, there is someone got approval with the new policy. I think they do have different teams to process the application. Wait for nomination approval before submitting a DRC visa application. Don't submit a DRC visa application without the nomination as it is at risk of putting in the pipeline. Also, my VETASSESS took 6 months.
bonza2211
Thank you - I'm in Marketing so not an area like nursing which tends to through quicker. This has me especially excited as I will apply under the Marketing Specialist Occupation. I did nominate the same occupation for my 457 which may positively impact the processing of the 186, though it may not speed it up. I'm yet to apply to VETASSESS, I want to have that sent off ASAP. Cheers!

SunshineAndSmiles
Did you ask anything waive? Or what's your case? Would you mind sharing with us? No waiver. Mine should of been very easy to process - no dependents or secondary applicants, English native and 7 yrs work experience in my profession. Good Luck with yours! Cheers! If you are still to do the VETASSESS skills assessment, most of the DRC backlog should be clear from pre-June so hopefully that should mean all the 856 DIAC staff can move onto the 186 applications. All the best with both applications!
