Recommended Posts

Hi Both

We lodged our 176 on the 5th of January. We have had our CO allocated and had our Meds last week. We have had confirmation that Police Checks are in progress.......just waiting now. Where are you hoping to settle? We have had state sponsorhip for Adelaide.

We also have SS for South Australia

Hey Dono,

Husbands too got finalised this morning.

All that additional info we submitted regarding work experience 2 weeks ago is still down as requested ....CO hasnt gone in to review yet and hit the 'met' button.

We are still waiting on our police clearance forms to come back :(

I wish theyd hurry up!

Oh I feel such a sense of relief over the meds....it had us worried sick.

Mind you until we all have that illusive visa nothing is assurred.

Nothing changed for me as well.... The pcc still shows required though I submitted last week.

May be they do some investigation before changing everything

to met :-(

Okay that's good... so yours were referred on 09/02, finalised 13/02. Hopefully my OH's will be finalised by the end of the week...

I have a feeling that they take quite a thorough look through anything you submit. The way it seems to work is that the CO looks through everything and then only requests what is missing - so I think your stuff will be another day or two.

Yep! Team 2 is moving along quite quickly. Our CO seems to be really on the ball. Hopefully he'll kick the health people into high gear with my OH's stuff and get it finalised. It's the final final final outstanding on our application... so it's close :)

Well hubby got apt with specialist recommended by panel doctor for 12th March (next free appointment as this consultant specialist in diabetes) so its going to be a long wait for us to get this visa. Trying to be optimistic that we will be OK, just a little anxious that IF we do get a visa that we won't have a lot of time left from it been granted to get to Oz due to the fact we all had our medicals/PCC at start of feb.

Ah well, will keep you all posted

Another sleepless night for me it seems... currently 6:32 in Adelaide, 7:02 in Sydney and 22:02 (the previous day) here in Johannesburg and here's me without sleep. LOL. The worst part is I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow at work so I really should be sleeping... this visa stress is something else.

just wondering has anybody applied for nursing as skill for visa, especially if you qualified some time ago when it was certificate level about 15 years ago. Want to know what points you allocated for points assessment for visa. Thanks

Thanks for that Dono and daydreamer88, trudging through all the VETASSESS stuff, looks do-able, so giving it a go. Degree is Food Technology (employed as Food TEchnologist for over 5yrs), but am gonna use Vetassess advisory team as last 2.5 yrs I've been employed as a Scientist in Water Industry , so am thinking they might question whether this deviation won't meet basic requirements of recent work experience (12 out of past 24 months in selected occupation) - can anyone shed any sort of light on this ??.

Also....How long does this take from start to ...

Hi Ack

He is away for a week then fully booked and actually not supposed to be taking on any new patients. The panel doc seemed to think we have a better chance of getting a visa by having a report from this consultant so we will take guidance from him.

TBH am glad he will be seeing this guy as all his diabetic care is done at the GP practice so it will be good to get an expert opinion on his health and medication.

Everything just seems uncertain at the moment with the visa. Hopefully you're police checks will come back soon.

Hi Emma

We're also looking at SS in Victoria, been researching loads (only at very start of process), but am I being really dumb, I seem to have missed the bit detailing how you go about applying for state sponsorship. Who do you apply to - is there a form somewhere????

Cheers

Annie

Hi Emma,

Might ye not get your visa over this? Like diabeties is managable...isnt it? I couldnt imagine its a case for refusal. We were told so long as its no super dooper illness and going to cost the Australian tax payers- you're fine!

Plus the threshold has been increased to AUS$35,000 that and I think there is some waiver ?? you can sign to say youl cover your own costs ? Not sure about that bit. Post a thread bout diabeties and visa grants.

I know what you mean though...visa is one thing but health is another. Husband while his meds got finalised is going to check out what that thickening in his lungs is about. It gave me a real scare.

.........................

Mr CO didnt look our our applic last night :( [i'll add I was up twice in the night to check!!]

Maybe tonight!

We sent them off an email and they said they try to respond in 7 working days meaning tonights the night!

Im bit tired today to say the least
