  1. Thanks Vinny1275 and toOZ2012, one brick wall after another. But will keep trying, will prob resort to MA at this stage Cheers
  2. Hi Vinny I'd recently emailed WA re offlist, they say they've used all these places for current year and anticipate more offlist places to be available from July 12. After I sent email, I thought I'd read that offlist were just for recent graduates - do you know am I right about this, or does it matter if you'd graduated a while ago. My occupation is on SOL2, but is not currently on any of the States/Territories sponsorship lists aaah, but I assume, I'd be able to apply for offlist ???
  3. Hi after spending past couple of weeks studying various visas (my other half's occupation Painting and Decorating (has also Tiling and also Metal Polishing) is on SOL but as he is nearing cutoff age, he can't get the points; my occupation (food technologist) is on SOL2 but no state is currently sponsoring my occupation (aaah!!); and have a coz who could sponsor on a provisional 475 visa, but as we have 3 wee kids not sure about the medicare reciprocal deal, and also as this is category 5 believe this means a very long wait...?!?! so... think trying to secure ENS while in UK may be way to go. so basically wondering if anyone has gone down this route and been successful, and if so if you could give us some advice, some pointers how to get in touch with potential employers, get the ball rolling and get that ENS visa. Any advice would be greatly appreciated , along with details of timelines for this type of visa - jez its such a minefield... would love to hear of anyones success or ongoing search / application... thanks Annie
  4. Hi Shelly do you know on a UK passport what kind of reciprocal Medicare you'd be entitled to on a 475 temp skilled sponsored visa (not the 457 ....confusion). We've got 3 wee ones under school age, and may have to try for 475 , but apprehensive with the wee ones Thanks
  5. Hi right at start of researching, believe 176 best for us. My degree is on the SOL Schedule 2 which requires state sponsorship - I've looked on each states website for their list of required occupations, but my degree not there ??? Does anyone know, do I just go ahead and start process or does my degree need to be on some states list somewhere ?? Is there a charge for state sponsorship (hopefully Victoria)? Has anyone been turned down for state sponsorship, if so , why ? Does the 20 hr minimum employment (12 out of 24 previous mths) apply to 176? I've read DIAC's Booklet 6 re 176 visas but doesn't mention anything about 20hrs, however I know I've also read it elsewhere that you do need it - alot of conflicting info - anyone shed some light? If you get SS, does it cancel out requirement of 20 hrs (I jobshare at the moment 18.5hrs) Thanks
  6. Hi well got reply from VETASSESS, and they said that normally it is 20hrs minimum, but it would be on a case by case basis, so thats hopeful, but jez if we're gonna do this, I want to at least have a chance !!! Emma, did your Skills Assessor co tell you that you didn't meet the basic requirement with 19.5hrs ? Problem is my man is bit too close to the cutoff age, so will find it hard to get the points (hes self employed painter decorator), Sorry so many questions..... Ann
  7. Hi Emma thanks ever so much for your info. Wow, you're nearly there now. We've just seriously started researching this week, so gotta get in touch with past employers, uni people etc . So hopefully that wont take too long - fingers crossed. But thats great, you've given me some sort of order of things to work to. I believe police checks could take ages to come through - we have both Ireland (north) and Scotland - do both me and my man (I'll be main applicant) have to get police clearance? Should I go ahead and get this now do you think,or does it have a short expiry/ Sorry to interupt your forum, first time posting on forums and I probably should have started a new one. Good luck with your application Annie
  8. Hi aaaah, been working job share (contracted 18.5hrs / wk) for past 2.5 yrs as have 3 young children under school age (prior to this worked fulltime) . Degree BSc Food Technology, so VETASSESS are assessing body, but they stipulate 20hrs minimum. Is this worthwhile trying to progress this, orwill they just refuse outright ???? (I am on standby for a week on a 8wk rota, but don't think this hleps????) As anyone been through this, or have any advice (is it a case of trying to grab another couple of hrs work for the next year??) Help please !!!! I have emailed VETASSESS but don't know if they'll reply or pass me on to Advisory team Annie
  9. Hi Emma We're also looking at SS in Victoria, been researching loads (only at very start of process), but am I being really dumb, I seem to have missed the bit detailing how you go about applying for state sponsorship. Who do you apply to - is there a form somewhere???? Cheers Annie
  10. Thanks for that Dono and daydreamer88, trudging through all the VETASSESS stuff, looks do-able, so giving it a go. Degree is Food Technology (employed as Food TEchnologist for over 5yrs), but am gonna use Vetassess advisory team as last 2.5 yrs I've been employed as a Scientist in Water Industry , so am thinking they might question whether this deviation won't meet basic requirements of recent work experience (12 out of past 24 months in selected occupation) - can anyone shed any sort of light on this ??. Also....How long does this take from start to ... Annie
  11. Hi just at very early stages of this so have loads of questions, glad I found this thread as my degree on SOL list 2, but I've no idea how you go about getting the State . Territory sponsorship - anyone help me out here ? Also big question, is it worth getting these migration agents to assist (costing 4999) or is it possible to do on your own? Thanks
