WA SS released Today.......

IMHO, SMP of WA says that accountants and cooks are on it and all the SS issued by WA shall be honored by DIAC (under cat 2). Secondly new applicants under these professions can not apply to WA for SS (until announcement of new SMP somewhere in June-July 2011) as they have already exhausted the quota for 2010-11 for these two professions.

Best regards

and I received my SS from WA on the late of June 2010 (as a Security Specialist 223179).

When I contact WA they said that i had to change my ASCO code to correlated ANZSCO.

After that I had to change my ASCO code to ANZSCO and I recieved my positive skill assessment as a Software Tester 261314 (Compuing Professional) but till now i didn't lodge my application in DIAC becuase I had to wait for the WA new plan which finally released today :(

Now, my occupation is not listed on that. I want to know is my SS valid ? and can I lodge my application in DIAC with that ?????

Please help me :(

You WA SS still valid.... However, since your profession is not listed in SMP, you will not received a higher priority (CAT 2)... BTW, is your occupation on Schedule 3? If yes, then you will be on CAT 3, otherwise CAT4.

According to DIAC... CAT4 will commence processing once all CAT 1 -3 applications has been processed... sadly, that would be infinite time...

My occupation is in that list !!

is it my best choice ?! ?!?

is anybody know about the Victoria Processing time ?! ?!?

You can apply to any state you wish for ss however its the fact your trade needs to be in cat 3 or lower, to even stand a chance of getting your visa within the near future

Really happy, cos Toolmaker is on list. If any trade wasn't going to be on there I thought it was going to be this.

Gutted for those of you that have SS, and occupations are not on list, no amount of words will make up for how sh*te you must be feeling.... so sorry for you all

Another hurdle passed, onto the next one(s)!

Don't know why but I stayed up last night as I had a feeling the smp was coming out....... What a massive let down. ICT project manager is no longer on the list. Here is my question.. I have wa ss, I applied to the diac back in may and I have a case officer(we've already been through the additional info bit and I was just waiting for the request to do the mess and police checks) what does all this mean now as I haven't got a clue. Am I now pushed to the back of the list never to be seen again....or am I still going to get processed.

If you can advise I would be grateful

My occupation is in Schedule 4 and the Victoria SMP.

According to the WASMP FAQ, if you have WA Sponsership and you lodged your application in DIAC and now your occupation is not on the list, your application continue in CAT 2 :) good luck

NO NO NO.... If WA granted you already SS and your occupation is not listed on their SMP... its either you belong to CAT 3 (if your occupation listed on Schedule 3) or CAT 4.

Join the confused club. I was so surprised that may occupation wasn't on the list as it was top on the June list, the amount of jobs I've seen advertised (i had someone contact me about a job today) and a conversation with a friend who runs a recruitment agency in Perth said they have more jobs than people to fill them in my area. It doesn't make sense unless I'm missing something.

Gday

The limitations now will be because WA have been given a limited number of SMP places for the year, as have all the states. The total SMP programme has been given a quota.

WA had a mind set of "sponsor everyone" and have been very good at getting out and marketing their stuff, hence the large numbers that are already offered sponsorship - only to have the system frozen and capped.

Had WA been a little less aggressive in sponsoring people earlier, I think they would have more spaces to work with now.

Thats a shame because there are salons willing to sponsor hairdressers and it puts you straight to top priority!

i wish i could speak to some of these salons cos i have tried so hard ive emailed so many and all i get is when you get here come and see us:arghh:

How great it was to see we are on the list and then just to read on that you had to be 7 years in your trade and I am only 5 years in my trade! Is all lost then for us for WA sponsorship?:frown:

If you have already secured SS from WA and lodged your visa with DIAC, the criterion of IELETS and years of work experience are not taken into consideration, so I believe I read earlier.

Boesman, I really feel your pain, four years ago we were in the same boat. TRA threw our application out for insuffient work experience! Just short of six yrs later we are back again. The Aussie agent we had at the time said my OH would be fine with 12-16 months recent exp.... After the TRAs ruling we said we were going to get the 5 yrs recent to add to three yrs (my OH originally left the trade after 3 yrs as the pay worked out at less than min wage when you took away the cost of tools he needs to constently purchase!)

Boesman, if I can try and keep your hopes alive, please do not give up, never give up, your still in with a chance. Would you consider another state? What do you do? I noticed some states want 3yrs out of last 5yrs on recent smp's.

So sorry, I wrongly assumed you had ss from wa. I'm feeling so stupid and insensitive.
