OMG I've just checked but the link for the list is not found so they are probably uploading as I type

The list is out, we have just saw it OMG it does really exist :laugh: but we are cooks and it says it is not available. We already have state sponsored - have we already been included - this is a bloody nightmare :arghh:

Criteria for Managers and Professionals

 

If you are looking to apply for state sponsorship from the Government of Western Australia you will need to have an occupation on the Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation list (WASMOL); meet Western Australia's criteria for your occupation and meet the Department of Immigration and Citizenship's criteria for General Skilled Migration.

All Managers and Professionals will require a high level of English skills. This level, deemed proficient, is an IELTS score of 7 across all four bands reading, writing, listening and speaking.

 

Special conditions

 

Working holiday visa (Subclass 417)

 

To meet the above work experience criteria, holders of a working holiday visa will need to have been previously employed in their nominated occupation in their home country before working in their nominated occupation while onshore on a qualifying visa.

 

Skilled – Sponsored (residence) visa (subclass 886)

 

Students will need to hold a skilled-graduate (temporary) visa (subclass 485) before applying for 886 State sponsorship.

 

Students who hold a skilled-graduate (temporary) visa (subclass 485) applying to Western Australia for sponsorship on a skilled - sponsored (residence) visa (subclass 886) will need 18 months work experience in their nominated occupation after gaining their qualification. Work experience will need to be gained in Western Australia on a full time, continuous basis.

There are a large number of applications in the food trades currently in the Department of Immigration and Citizenship processing pipeline. Despite this, these occupations have been retained on the WASMOL due to forecasted demand over the next four years.

 

State Migration WA will pilot the use of a panel of industry experts to determine employability of chefs and cooks. State sponsorship will be based on meeting the criteria for technicians and trades and the recommendation of the panel.

I feel for everyone who has been dissapointed, All the waiting and wondering. All I can say at least now you know and you can kind of get on with life.

I have to say, living in WA, and seeing the job adverts every week in the paper, this is list is fairly representative of the current demand, although I have to say I thought cabinet maker would be there, I have a good friend in Holland who is going to be gutted......Stay positive people, where there's a will...........

Not sure where you are phoning from but if you are in Perth the number is 08 9218 2100, if you are international I think you drop the 0 and add 0061 - good luck.
