Avail 175 it would take 18 months but you will be in pipe line rather then no where. But one thing i am afraid that if they brought some drastic steps like they took in July,10. So be careful & wish you best of luck bro

Hey MissionOZ,

thanks for posting your details and sorry for the refusal,. Looking at your IELTS and occupation you should be eligible for a 175. Hurry up, before the DIAC changes mind.

LOL online app is 99.9% ready! I'm still waiting for my passport to be renewed - do you know if I can submit the app using the old one immediately and update the details once the shiny one arrives?

Shouldn't be a big deal. There are forms to inform the DIAC of any changes. When do you expect the new one?

Should be back in under 2 weeks! Should have sent it off earlier, but last Monday my VETASSESS wasn't even with a CO, so I wasn't expecting such a quick succession of approvals!

Actually you'll only need the new passport number for the visa-application, not the passport itself. Is there a way to find out the number before you have the passport? Over here they are able to tell you the number when you apply for the passport. The DIAC also wants you to attach a colored scan of the passport to your application but you have 28 days to do so.

So you can either apply with the old one and change it later on or try to find out the number of the new one and attach a copy of it later or simply wait for the new one. Sooooo many options ... DIAC is great, isn't it. People, their business

Is it true that if you provide DIAC colored scans, you do not need to send any hard copies? Or have I just imagined that?

Regards,

P.

If it's an online app, color scans are enough.

Not sure what you mean by 'send any hard copies'. You talking about the paper-based app??

To be honest I'm not sure what I am talking about as I am not there yet, but it sounds like I'll be doing an online app if the time ever arrives. I sent you a pm by the way, if you fancy a quick read.

Kind Regards,

P.

The definitive answer:

if you are making an online application with DIAC, you can provide your documents online, and/or offline

  • when providing a document online, always scan it in COLORS, even if the original document is a black & white

    1. if the original is colored, the scan is accepted as it is, no need for any notarization

    2. if the original is black & white, make a photocopy of it, notarize the photocopy (as a True copy of the original), scan the notarized copy (color scan, to show the blue ink of the signature and any stamps) then upload it

    3. alternatively, you can email the documents instead of uploading them, but this is not the recommended way, see the excerpt below.

the link to upload your documents is:

    https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/visas/attachment/start.do?attachType=VISA_APPLICATION&group=travel

remember there is a limit on the upload: you can upload a maximum of 60 documents, 5 BM each

make sure you read this first:

    http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/general-skilled-migration-attachments.htm

this is an excerpt from the Automated email response of DIAC:

Providing additional documents

Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit supporting documentation electronically. Providing scanned copies of documents reduces postal and administrative delays in receiving and processing information.

GSM processing offices accept scanned copies of original documents

(non-certified) provided they are in colour. If you scan documents in black and white, then they must be scanned copies of certified copies. The valid file types for attaching documents are BMP, DOC, DOT, GIF, JPG, PDF, RTF, TXT and XLS.

Information which will assist you in attaching documents to your application or in emailing them to the department is available on the department’s website at:

http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/general-skilled-migration-attachments.htm

Online applications

If you e-lodged this application you are strongly encouraged to attach all the supporting documentation to the application in the web-browser. This is the preferred procedure for providing supporting documents for an e-lodged application.

If for any reason you cannot attach documents in the browser then you can email the documents as scanned attachments to the following email address:

gsm.documents@immi.gov.au

Paper lodged applications

If you lodged a paper application you can still provide supporting documentation electronically by emailing the documents as scanned attachments to:

gsm.documents@immi.gov.au

When emailing documents to the department please quote your Transaction Reference Number (TRN) or file reference number for this purpose.

Do not send this office any original documents or provide paper copies of documents previously attached to the browser or sent by e-mail unless asked to do so by a departmental officer.

There is also a PDF that you can download which provides guidelines for the doctors on what they should look for and what DIAC considered dodgy.

Makes interesting reading.

But lots of medical problems do get through - al lot depends on the amount it would cost Oz re its seriousness.

If you have any problems take a letter from your specialist at the time saying all is now well - then that can be attached.

Hi VickyMel,

Thanks for this. I've not been able to find the PDF of guidelines to doctors - would you have a link to this by any chance? I'd be interested to take a look.

much thanks

Robyn

A partner? Fat chance, buddy

BTW, the partnership, if any, would go to the highest bidder and not necessarily to one who can make better impressions. After all, it's a business you see.

I would do but Buddy got there first checky little person stealing my customers! :swoon:

If your family has medical issues don't be too worried when you look through this - there have been a lot of things go through recently. The local Dr just has to highlight things that may be of concern to DIAC so tha tDIAC can decide if they want to look into it further.

wiki wiki, to steal another customer from Vicky this time:

My goodness Buddy - how can you do this to us - first Armadra - well thats OK I didn't mind that - until now you go and step on my toes too! :policeman:

Well I hope noone clicks your chicken for all the help coming out from your offices

Armandra and I will have to chat about this with the big boss man Uli and see if we can get you banned from our thread.

When we form our VIC SS specific migration agency we can call ourselves

"The slightly stressed from waiting migration agents"

Maybe we should do applications for any state except VIC !

I am in the same situation - kicking myself for not being organised now - lol.

Ours has expired though so can't get round the valid till date. Hope it arrives quickly..

Is there a check list of everything else I will need to supply - suppose I should be getting copies signed whilst waiting - just can't find a list.

Anyone know how long certified copies are valid till ? Do they expire?? We had some stuff done years ago - not sure if its needed till we get the check list but, would they stil be o.k to use?
