I feel most of the Migration agents (except the one you mentioned), are here for client hunt, they break bad news just so in a way that a person who is about to do it on their own, thinks he has no chance.

Spot on mate. If you think this forum is a hunting round for agents you obviously haven't seen them in OZ.

About 90% of the international students that come to study in Australia are brainwashed by these agents into believing that they will not get a successful PR visa outcome (eventhough thier 885/886 visas are the most easiest to handle) unless they lodge their application through an agent. This just makes me sick :arghh:.

Or that latest DRC thing, a mate of mine who lodged his 885 application by himself (a rare exception i must say) has recently paid another $1,000 for that DRC done once an information quickly spread that 'supposedly' your visa processing time will be shortened conciderably if you use it. :wacko:Nothing has changed for him, he was just fleeced yet again by this multi-billion dollar business industry.

Best regards.

Hi all,

I received SA Sponsorship yesterday and it should be SS, not SMP.

Hi Madrista

Congratulation on your SA state sponsorship. Can you share what is stated in your sponsorship, it states that your SS is not for SMP ? But the nurses are getting thier SA SS now, i believe their SS is in SMP as nurses are very in demand by all states. What is your nominated occupation?

BTW, did you receive their email from SA on 11 August or after that. As for me i didnt receive their email so i will not be considered for SS.

regards

hi agens,

In this mail, they didn't mention any word about SMP, so I guess it could be SS as other States. My occupation is Civil Engineer and I lodged SA application on 7th May.

In addition, I didn't receive their mail after 11 Aug but I was asked once whether I would like to place my application into the CSS-SMP-SA processing queue and I said YES. So I am very strange why they approved my application before SMP released.

here is the main content of the approval mail. I guess the sponsorship is still SS.

Thank you for your application for Sponsorship to Immigration SA. I am pleased to inform you that the Government of South Australia would like to offer you State Sponsorship for the above visa subclass.

1. Lodge your visa application with DIAC within thirty (30) days from date approval or this Sponsorship will expire. Please check client tracking system to confirm date of approval. http://www.immigration.sa.gov.au/applyonline/track/skilled_index.php

2. Wait until you receive Notification with the TRN or BCC number from DIAC. When you receive the TRN or BCC number, as the Form 1100 update button is unavailable via the client tracking system, please send these details through to Immigration SA via e-mail gsm.sa@sa.gov.au for your on-line application to be updated. The Form 1100 will be generated and sent to DIAC within 48 hours.

3. Once the TRN number has been entered and the Form1100 generated and sent to DIAC, Immigration SA is no longer involved and any enquiries about your visa application should be directed to DIAC.

4. If all these steps are not completed, your visa process will not proceed.

I think you are lucky to be sponsored by a state. You can now launch your 176 application immediately. In my opinion, given the delays in SMPs, you might end up getting your visa before those with SMPs despite you being on category 3 and SMPs on Cat2 !. We never know when they are gonna announce SMPs, it could be months!.

cheers,

I think if you got SS from SA then your occupation has to appear in SMP, unless something unpredictable happens. We are in that SMP queue at the moment (our occupation is on Schedule 4), and if we get SS we're priority 4 and if we get SMP we're priority 2.

Also isn't it a terrible mess at DIAC - if you are on SS you have priority 3, but if your occupation eventually gets on SMP does it mean your priority will be upgraded to priority 2? Or it's too late and once you apply for a visa, the harm is done?

I know DIAC is tampering with existing applications priorities, so if they lowered priorities to some apps, maybe they should upgrade some, too? BTW it's ridiculous, because soon they will end up working on adapting existing applications to new regulations (and there are more and more of new regulations) instead of just working on accepting/refusing visas.

Thank you for sharing. When did they actually approved on your online tracking system. last time, an applicant of your same occupation enquire them about sponsorship and they asked to wait until SMP. As for me until now still no news about my sponsorship, my occupation is mechancial engineer.

I have issues with the attitude of many RMA but to be fair it is always better to do via an agent than by yourself. There is another forum called StudyConnect where people ask some of the dumbest questions I have seen.

Most of them are student almost finishing studies and going to apply for PR soon and judging by their questions many will falter if they went on their own.

I have also seen many getting rejected for stupid silly mistakes like not lodging PCC. Having a migrant agent provides some peace of mind.

. In many cases the onshore students are going to have an easier ride than offshore applicants.

How? I thought they are all treated equally under priority processing arrangement. Except for this new DRC thing of course but that doesn't help any cat4s.

Wait a minute, don't you have to provide PCCs and Medicals when requested by the CO? If so, how can their visa application get rejected on these grounds? Sounds dogy to me.

Besides, when you submit your application online it tells you exactly what documents you need to submit. Well, if you stupid enough not to do it , then it's your fault.

I think i read a post on this forum when an agent failed to inform their clients that they had to submit their IELTS test reports within 28 days of their application lodgement date . As a reslt their visa was declined. They most certainly didn't get 'some peace of mind' you are talking about.

Best regards.

Hi agnes,

It shows my application was approved on 1 Septemeber on the online tracking system. I think they could approve the old applications in turn in the next few days and it is possible SMP would not be released before the final result of election.

In addition, I have heard quite a few applicants from China have been approved yesterday and most of their occupations are Engineers. So I am sure your applicaiton will be safe.

Hi agens,

I am sorry I didn't see any mechanical engineer had been approved until today but fortunately two Electronics Engineers got their SS in the same day with me. I suggest you might write to SA to enquire the process of your application. Good luck!

I thought all docs have to be front loaded for 885/886 which means you submit everything while application is lodged. Thats why so many people are pissed off because they do medicals and AFP police checks when they are going to touch your application in distant future when most of them are expired.

Besides, when you submit your application online it tells you exactly what documents you need to submit. Well, if you stupid enough not to do it , then it's your fault.

Well its this stupidity that keeps so many RMAs in business.

There is always exceptions. For every 1000 case I am sure certain dodgy or ill-qualified RMA stuffs up. Thats why finding good well reputed RMA is so important. As proven many times in this forum, simply being RMA doesn't guarantee the agent is top notch.

I guess, this is something that I will never understand. All my life i only relied on myself . From finding a place to live, work, uni studies, everything !!! To me this whole visa thing is no different to other things that i do everyday.

It's simply common sense.

I agree with you somewhat. But, when you are a professional and a few comments from you trigger life changing decisions, you HAVE to know your game.

I feel most of the Migration agents (except the one you mentioned), are here for client hunt, they break bad news just so in a way that a person who is about to do it on their own, thinks he has no chance. I remember one MA even changed his signature to "ACS RPL specialist" right after that ASCO ANZSO fiasco. So, here I am, doing it all my own because there are many many wonderful people here who give out sincere advice for free without any hidden agenda.

Whats you say on this ?

Cheers,

TAA

Hi TAA

I disagree with you.

Peter Chiam (Ptlabs) has always said that he is an ACS RPL specialist. He said it ages before the recent changes with computer skills.

Personally I am convinced that there are hundreds of third rate migration agents about and also some who are just plain unscrupulous. However I would never make either of those criticisms about ptlabs, whom I believe to be a Grade A Good Bloke.

Cheers

Unfortunately not everyone is jack of all trade. Though I'd say I have a more than decent grasp of the onshore immigration process, I still went with agent coz I didn't want to be a hero. Better to be safe than sorry.

How do you know it was him I was referring to ?.

PTLABS is one of the better MAs. I have been actively participating in this and other immigrations forums and I can vouch that Peter is among the best. Its another MA I was referring to who I don't think is on this forum...

I can send you a PM with that MA's name if you like, but not on an open forum!

Hi, foha2012

Thanks.

I had obtained WA sponsorship before SA result and e-lodged 176 visa on 23 July. I will wirte to SA to refuse their sponsorship in order to give other applicants more chances.

However, I do not think my case will be finalised before SMP released. It seems DIAC are trying their best to process the non-CSL applicants.
