Those students are making the right choice not coming here.

If I knew I'd have all these problems, I would never have come. Not just the problem with DIAC.

I could have got a good degree with cheaper price at where textbooks are tens of bucks rather than hundreds, some work experience and just migrated here.

I got bumped to priority 3 yesterday after giving DIAC a call. My Timeline so far:

Applied: 15th August 2008

ACS Reassessment request: 22nd Dec 2010 (Network Administrator 263112)

ACS letter recieved: 21st Feb

Reassessment sent to DIAC: 25th Feb

Allocated CO: 5th April

I will try to front load PCC & Medicals now.

just wondering is network administrator on the SOL ? i was under the impression that you need to select an occupation on the SOL for reassessment inorder to be bumped into cat 3 ?

It’s only the beginning my friend. Lets see what’s going to happen to Australian Unis in terms of funding in the next couple of years.

This Government doesn’t have clue what sort s***t it got itself into.

Regards,

MOTO

I agree MOTO Net overseas numbers have also dropped off too and so has the country's growth rate from 2.2% to 1.6 %

Awesome!! You'll have it in your hands by tomorrow.

Send it to DIAC as soon as you get it, wait one day and call them up, so they put you in Category 3!

I just called and told the operator I have been waiting for more than 12 weeks. She told me I am still with assessor (which I have been told 3 weeks ago). What annoys me is she told me I have to wait for a few more weeks to get the result. This is just crazy. How crap is ACS. She also confirmed that IK has left ACS.

They have nothing to say except for asking you to wait, man. What can you expect from ACS? I have not found a single person finding it easy to deal with ACS.

Pre-application Skills Assessment (PASA)

The Australian Computer Society is the gazetted authority within Australia to undertake the process of assessing qualifications and experience to support skilled migration. The Department for Immigration & Citizenship determines the migration processes and through Skills Australia, the information and communications technology (ICT) occupations that are current to support the Australian economy. To meet the requirements for a skills assessment in an occupation code, applicants must have relevant qualifications and/or experience in the relevant field. ACS currently assesses the following occupation codes to support information and communications (ICT) professionals migrate to Australia:

For general skilled migrants:

The current skilled occupation list (SOL: schedule 3) – applies to all new GSM applications, including applicants eligible for transitional arrangements if they prefer to use it.

261111 ICT BUSINESS ANALYST

261112 SYSTEMS ANALYST

261311 ANALYST PROGRAMMER

261312 DEVELOPER PROGRAMMER

261313 SOFTWARE ENGINEER

For those applicants who are coming under sponsorship arrangements, the following codes are assessed by ACS. In all cases, eligibility to apply for these codes depends on visa category and should be confirmed by the Department for Immigration & Citizenship before an assessment takes place, if required. This list includes the 5 occupation codes from the GSM list above:

135111 Chief Information Officer

261111 ICT Business Analyst

261112 Systems Analyst

261311 Analyst Programmer

261312 Developer Programmer

Nothing!! "No events found":skeptical:

Oh right, you're in Melbourne. It surely takes longer when it goes interstate.

My local post office is literally across the bridge from ACS.
