yeah i don't know how it works. My case officer is D but I've not seen anyone else with the same so just a waiting game. I didn't apply online I did mine in paper form so I don't know if that makes a difference. I think I'm a straight forward case though so fingers crossed maybe tomorrow haha :cute:

Hi Folks,

Firstly what a positive and pleasant forum this is! Nice to see so many folks looking out for each other.

We applied 17/4/15, CO VF assigned 2/6/15. Medical completed too early (damn website!) but extended by VF by 6 months to end of Oct 2016. Really hoping for the 100 off the bat - we have been together long enough so hopefully the evidence stands up. I notice lots of people are getting grants that applied around the same time as us so fingers crossed!

The uncertainty is somewhat heightened for us as my partner's UK visa runs out on 7/1/16... :err:

Wow if you applied in April I would guess you would be very soon. Ive seen a lot of people apply in June receive theirs already so fingers crossed for you! My partner left the UK in November so would be amazing to receive the visa this month or even next month!

Hopefully so, thanks!

When did you apply Gillam? My parter is leaving the country and returning on a tourist visa (hopefully!), so we won't be apart but on one income which makes things a bit harder and adds an element of pressure. It would be great to catch the last of summer in Aus too...

I applied the 25th June just got my hopes up because a lot of people are getting them quick but looks like people have been waiting a long time as well. I wonder how they decide who to approve and who to keep waiting

What knowone is saying is if they are using a Migration Specialist - or if they are going direct through the Australian Embassy.

And if they are doing postal or online application. I am sure it will be different for all the options.

We did ours online and didn't use an agent. And, if I can do it, anyone can!!! I'm not a bit techie!

I used a migration agent. The same as my partner used years ago to get his. I knew no different so went with his advice. Although I have since heard how easy it is so should have maybe looked in to it beforehand.

It wasn't hard, but would not say easy..

Confusing, is how I would describe it.

So many different forms to fill out and it felt like we were giving the same info over and over.

Sponsor application 40sp

1221 form

80 form

2x 888 forms, etc

Not really too many clear guidelines on what to do, still worried we missed something!

Even using an agent I felt overwhelmed by the amount of paperwork I have to fill in etc. also had to do personal history statements each etc. but did feel nice being able to send it to someone to "go over" before they lodge on line. Gives you peace of mind I suppose knowing that hopefully all was ok.

I think that during all those months of constantly checking and re-checking, you kind of get used to how it all works. And there are guidelines for absolutely everything. This forum, for me, was what kept me sane. I didn't actually join until we had completed everything on the application, and there was nothing left to do but wait. Every time I needed to know what to do, I checked this forum, and found the answer. I don't know who runs it, but what a brilliant job?!

If anyone out there is reading this, without joining, I would recommend joining sooner rather than later because you can save yourself a lot of time, money and worry by just asking these good people a question.

We applied about a month before you, so going by that, you should be anytime soon. We've been married 25 years, and only got the 309, though...
