For anyone that has applied through London for the PMV 300 recently, how long did you have to wait for a CO to be assigned?? I applied August 11, 2015 and still have yet to hear anything. Just wondering if I should chase them up in terms of being assigned a case officer??? On my immi account it says Application received as the status...

I don't think you need to do amything. They contact you when they need to. Your application is lodged, just a matter of waiting and taking medical etc when CO asks.

Hi MWilliamson1, my partner and I applied for a PMV through London this August as well, fingers crossed they get through all the applications in record time! We haven't heard specifically about CO allocation either. We're just doing our best to be patient but it is sooooooooooooo difficult sometimes as we have to live apart until it's processed. I hope your situation is easier.

Applied 20th August 2015 for PMV via London office, not aware of if we've got a CO yet, police clearance and medical submitted (my partner received an email almost straight away with a HAP ID & we were super keen and just did them, no one told us to hold off & we didn't think to wait). Our application is super straightforward - just my partner and I, all docs submitted & no complicated history or issues of any kind. Just waiting to start our life together now...

I hear lots of people saying 'I emailed my case officer' and I was just wondering if people are actually emailing directly, sending an email to the familymigrationlondon address or using the form on the european service centre thing....

 

I really want to get in touch with my case officer this week but am not sure what the best method of contact is

Everything goes via the email you mentioned. If its assessed as sonething your CO needs to see it will be passed on. Otherwise you'll just get a general reply.

 

CO do not give out there direct email anymore. Everything goes to one central point these days.

I am needing some advice for my daughter and her family and am hoping someone can help. My daughter's husband applied for his partner visa four months ago. They want to move out to Australia before they have a visa decision and are aware of the risks of doing that. They have applied for the visitor visa's for her husband and children and have let their CO know that they are planning to move over here with us and have received an email...

'If you propose to visit Australia on a visitor visa you should be aware that you need to satisfy Australian border and Immigration staff that you are a genuine visitor. You will need to be able to demonstrate you have sufficient funds to cover the costs of your stay without the need to work, that you intend to visit Australia temporarily and that you have an intention to depart the country before the expiry of your visitor visa.'

My daughter is concerned as they are going to wait out his visa over here in Aus with us. They have enough funds to live for that time. Will that satisy the Immigration and border staff? They are giving up their home and jobs and wouldn't want to be turned back. Has anyone else done this and do you have any good advice please? Thank you.

Thought I'd share our great news with you all! My partner received an email from his CO this evening (it's evening here in Australia) saying his grant is ready to be given. Yay! Because he's in Australia on a tourist visa at the moment he had to advise his CO of when he will be leaving the country so the visa can be granted. After some online searching we've booked our flights to Bali on Monday, meaning when my partner returns to Australia next Thursday he will be here on a partner visa! Am so happy as it will be granted well under the 10th month mark. We applied on the 28th January. It's a relief for him as he will be able to start applying for work once we get back from our short break away. Hope everyone else receives some good news soon too!

well done to all who got their grants, pretty excited now as i applied feb 1st so hopefully not too long

may i ask though , how did you receive the email. when i applied there was a mixup with my email address. since i had applied for an unsuccessful partner visa in 2013 and had used an agent, my CO this time around emailed by agent saying he had received our file and had been assigned to us etc

this time around though we did the application ourselves.

our agent emailed me to say they had received the communication from the CO and then had the cheek to ask me did i want representation (yes please, i'll chuck another 2k your way even after i just prepared and submitted my own application)

 

i rang the co and he said he updated the system to enure my own email address was used, but now im scared it will go to my agent like the previous communication

 

every day i check my immi account , i presume that when a grant email is sent it chages from ''assessment in progress'' to ''approved'' ?

I lodged same time as @CameronsDad and @Annaleis, CO is VF............medical and police submitted 2-3 weeks ago, just sat here reading this post, and counting down the days really...........Oh, and dealing with a C100 in-between, just for added pressure! ;-)

Congrats to all those with grants! We're hoping the hubby's will come in December, but we've booked our flights to go back at the end of November!! (Couldn't wait to be home for Christmas, it'll be my first back home in 10 years!!)

We've been granted the eVisitor visa (that you can apply online for on the immi account, pingpongpom2) & will just book a trip to NZ to visit the bro-in-law to activate the partner visa later on. Now to organise a move and pack & our baby boys 1st birthday, all in the next four weeks!!

This forum has been the best help and even better distraction! ;-)
