  1. Hiya, yep I think that's the way to do it! That's what we were going to do if my OH hadn't got his visa granted in time... A trip to NZ or Bali is the usual trip. It's got to be for three working days though. Good luck with it all!
  2. Yeah its not cheap but we've had to sort everything out mega quick as the lady buying our house wanted a quick completion and I wanted to be back for Christmas :-) I got our marine insurance through lLeyton percival, it's much cheaper to get it separately than with the shippers I found!
  3. We've gone with Anglo Pacific, approx £3600 for a 20ft container, cheaper than pickfords which was our second choice. So far so good, but I'll let u know more after Monday and Tuesday when they pack everything and off it goes!!
  4. Wow so glad we didn't wait a few more years before applying then! It's expensive enough already and such a long wait too - we've had a few friends telling us when they applied many moons ago it only took a few weeks and didn't cost that much! Lol Thanks lp77, think I'll start to enjoy it once finished packing up the entire house - the movers come on Monday and my little boy is making sure I pack everything at least twice!! :-)
  5. These time lines are just bizarre, what with some people waiting 11 months and others getting theirs much sooner! You'd think it was in order of application!! Am not complaining as our visa grant saves us money on a trip to NZ (to activate it) but I kinda feel like I've cheated and skipped the que! Fingers crossed loads more visa's get granted in the lead up to Christmas!
  6. Emailed the CO last night and received an email first thing this morning, turns out the 309 was an oversight as he shouled have granted the 100 instead. It's been granted now, so got the 100!! We're all good to go now! :-) Flights for home booked on the 30th of this month!!
  7. Yay!! Fantastic! Congrats Kate!! :-) Hmm now i'my definitely wondering why the 100 didn't come through!! Gonna email now!!
  8. Our CO is LC. Thanks everyone, will leave it til tomorrow, if no email about the 100, I'll email asking about it. I thought we'd get it straight away too, so going to chase it up for sure.
  9. My hubby has been granted his 309 today!!! We just received the email!!! Yay! We weren't expecting anything until December/January!! (We had organised an etourist visa for him as we're going back at the end of the month lol) Can anyone advise if we should expect the 100 to be granted too? (We've been together 10 years and have a 1 year old) Thanks!!
  10. Congrats Wan2go!! Hope yours come.soon too Snowy! The wait is killing me and we still have a few more months to go (although we're booked to head back at the end of November where the hubby can wait out the rest of the time in warmer climates!) I was wondering what people are doing for travel insurance on the one way flight to oz? Most companies seem to do return trips! Any thoughts/recommendations/suggestions? Thanks!
  11. Congrats to all those with grants! We're hoping the hubby's will come in December, but we've booked our flights to go back at the end of November!! (Couldn't wait to be home for Christmas, it'll be my first back home in 10 years!!) We've been granted the eVisitor visa (that you can apply online for on the immi account, pingpongpom2) & will just book a trip to NZ to visit the bro-in-law to activate the partner visa later on. Now to organise a move and pack & our baby boys 1st birthday, all in the next four weeks!! This forum has been the best help and even better distraction! ;-)
  12. Thanks Eifster! Is it okay that he won't have any return flights booked tho? Is that the eTourist visa that you can apply for online?
  13. Have a question regarding tourist visas... We're moving back to Oz at the start of December this year, which is likely to be before my hubby gets his 309/100 visa granted, so he will be going out on a tourist visa. The intention is that we will spend time with my family and in January I'll go back to work while he looks after our son until his visa is granted and can start looking for work himself. The question I have is do we go for a tourist visa (subclass 600) for 3 months and then extend from Oz if we need to? Or does he go on the family sponsored visa (subclass 679)? What have people done in similar situations?? He has a brother in NZ he plans to visit when the 309/100 gets granted to activate it. Thanks everyone!!
