  1. Just an update for everyone on here- WE HAVE BEEN APPROVED!!!!!! Looks like all of my pestering may have worked in the end. SUCH a relief. Hoping this means there will be a few more grants through today- wishing everyone luck! This message board has been so so helpful for me during this application process- don't know what I would have done without you guys!
  2. Ok this makes sense. I have responded to the original email about getting assigned our CO letting them know of our travel plans. Calling the other day didn't seem to do much- they just said hey had all the documents and that I was still within the timeframe and that I should just wait. Thank you for all your input and Maggie as well! Will keep everyone updated...
  3. Still no response from that email- and no response from submitting an enquiry via the European Services Center link on the website- twice! I called them this morning and was told they had everything they needed from my application and that I just needed to be patient as our visa was still within the 10-14 month processing time frame They did say that my CO would get a notification that I had called regarding the status of the application, so hopefully that can push our app forward?? I have started looking into travel visas/bridging visas as we have flights booked to Aus for August 27th. I know they say not to book ahead of time but we thought we would be OK booking over 12 months out from the application date! Does anyone have any experience with any of this? From what I am reading, I would need to go over on a visitor visa (either 600 or 651) and then apply for a Bridging Visa B once in Aus. Any help/advice/experience with this would be greatly appreciated! Times like these I am so grateful for this online community- the support and help is invaluable! Anyone else had any approvals through recently??
  4. And they responded to your emails?? I replied to that email and got an email back with all kinds of red writing and capital letters saying they wouldn't respond to any emails sent to that account and that that inbox was only for uploading documents and that they didn't even recommend uploading documents via email as it would take ages to process- looks like I might be giving them a call on Monday!
  5. Have just had a look on the immiaccount site and cant seem to find where you would put an email on the application?
  6. Good idea attaching an email to the application, didn't realize this was an option! Thanks for your help
  7. Hi all, Starting to get quite antsy about our application- we are nearing the year mark we have an uncomplicated application for PMV- heard from CO (V) back in December saying she had everything she needed and earliest we could be approved was 25/7 (8 months before wedding). Still nothing! We have plans to fly to Aus on August 28 - have tried contacting through European service center online but no response. How has everyone else gone about contacting CO to inform of travel plans? Wondering whether it's worth calling the call center? Anyone have any suggestions? Trying to stay positive but so so ready for an approval!
  8. Congratulations Jen44!!!! That is so exciting- good to see another PMV grant through. Just curious about what you said with regards to the 9 months thing- is this that they will only approve 9 months before the expected wedding date at the soonest?? Ours is set for March 2017....really wanting to get this grant through asap so I can apply for jobs in Aus! We are not planning to move until August but the field I am searching in has several openings for August/September but most require "evidence that you are able to work in Australia" (understandably so) which we don't have yet Our CO said for us to expect a grant through around 8 months before the wedding date (so that would put us at July) allowing 1 month afterwards to lodge the spouse visa application in Australia. We applied in August and we are just getting really antsy at this point
  9. Thanks so much for updating this chart! We applied for the PMV 300 and our CO is VR. We also applied ourselves! Have submitted my medicals and police checks and now the waiting begins! Fingers crossed its not too much longer...
  10. We are in the same boat as you!! Applied August 8th and nothing since then hoping to hear something soon!
  11. For anyone that has applied through London for the PMV 300 recently, how long did you have to wait for a CO to be assigned?? I applied August 11, 2015 and still have yet to hear anything. Just wondering if I should chase them up in terms of being assigned a case officer??? On my immi account it says Application received as the status...
  12. I could apply for another visa to stay in the UK but neither of us are keen to stay. He could move to the US and that is another option, but we would have to get married. At this point we are weighing the options between a fiancé K1 visa for the US and the prospective marriage visa for Australia.
  13. I am American and I have been in the UK studying for 4 years, but my student visa runs out at the end of my degree, which is 5 years. After that I will have to return to the US. I like the UK, but don't want to continue living here, as it is very expensive and the career opportunities in terms of salary for my degree are much less than in other countries. My boyfriend is Australian and has a British passport so he can stay here as long as he wants, but he doesn't love the UK either and London is quite expensive and doesn't really allow for him to save up to put money towards buying a house in the future, etc. Of course we could move to a smaller city in the UK, but since neither of us have family here, there is not a lot of reason to stay. We are living apart but see each other on a weekly basis. Him moving to Australia and me moving back to the States would absolutely be considered a hardship in my opinion.
  14. Yep that is our plan. We are going to apply for the prospective marriage visa. I am completing a veterinary degree that requires me to work long hours at a hospital outside of London, and my boyfriend works at the opposite end of London towards Heathrow, and it would be about an hour and a half commute which isn't plausible since I am on call frequently and must be able to get there within 20 minutes. He got promoted 6 months ago so it wouldn't be smart for him to leave his job either. Of course we very much want to live together, but it is just not something either of us can do at the moment. I am very clear on the definition of a de facto couple, we do share finances and I stay with him for 3 week periods when I am completing externships in the city, but I wasn't sure that qualified for "living together" as I don't pay rent when I stay with him.
  15. Thank you all so much for this information! Not exactly what I was hoping to hear, but you have all been very helpful. I will keep you updated on my application process.
