TaniaColin
Hi there Can someone please give me a list of to-dos? Beginning from the beginning. Like visa, TRA,(what ever that stands for), meds, english test.... when to pay for visa, when to organise container.... you know what i mean? 1. decided to move to OZ 2. decided where 3........etc. etc. Thank you kindly HJ:confused: Hi Heidi I did not have a clue where to start so i phoned Go-Matilda they will ask questions about your job/trade for me, mine was hairdressing, you go through the first stage about how long you have done your job for, quals etc, to make sure you are eliglble for a visa. Then i have to have my skills assessed this is where TRA comes in Trade recognition. I had to send loads of paperwork off, stat decs etc. When this was finally passed, it was decided about visas, it was best for us to apply for a 176 state sponsor ship, we were given so many states where hairdressing was in demand, we decided on Victoria. When this came through we then applied for the visa, then we had our medicals done and police checks, but if i could turn back time i would have waited to have these done until we had been allocated a case officer, as i did not realise it would take 7 months, then it is the waiting. I hope this helps you, i just let my agent deal with everything, when they wanted anything i just supplied it Best of luck to you Tania X:wubclub:

We have updated our CV's and sent an on-line application to PTlabs as my husband is an IT specialist. Will wait for a reply before continuing to the next step. I cant believe how much there is to do. We immigrated to the UK in 2003 from South Africa and i tell you it was 100 times easier than this. My husband got a job with the same company as its a global company and all we had to do was sell everything (as cheaper to re-by all furniture etc here).... pay up all our accounts and say goodbye to everyone. We sold our house and cars from abroad. Im not sure how we going to sell our house this time as the market is really bad. It would be nice if we could sell it before we leave and for a good price so that we have money to take to OZ.... hmmmmmm..... lots to do!!

Guest Callaghan
Hi all, We are new to this as well and I'm not sure how I go about posting a new thread? I need some help with the online application... We are applying under category 175(general skilled independent) and fall under all other applications which we are aware is going to take forever to be processed. I am trying to include my fiancee as a secondary applicant but I have reached the Australian VAlues statement part of the form online and it still has not shown my fiancee anywhere on the form?? How do I add his details on my form or is there an option at the end of the form to add a secondary applicant?? It probably is really simple but I just don't want to continue with the form incase I submit it without adding my fiancee to it.
Guest JAnne
Hi Callaghan, We applied for the same visa and my husband and each of us filled in a value statement form. Each of us also had to fill in Form 80. We were advised by our agent to do so. JAnne
Guest heidi1234
Hi Everyone,Claire 38, David 44, Ben 14 and Ollie 11 175 PR Skilled Independent Visa lodged on 8.9.08 ( Network Security Specialist ) House on market several viewings no offers !!!!!!!! Hopefully heading to Brisbane area.... Hi We have also just submitted an aplication to PTLabs and we got a reply fairly quickly. My husband was told he stands a good chance to be recognised as a network security specialist which attracts bonus points as it's on the migration occupations in demand list (MODL). But he was also asked if he would be interested in obtaining professional assistance in his RPL and visa applications. Do you know what this is???? Also he was told he will be eligible for a skilled permanent visa via a skills assessment from the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Did you also have to do this, and if so can you tell me more about it please. Thank you kindly:wubclub: TJ - 38, Heidi - 32, Storm - 10, Blade - 8, Skye - 3 and Kaine 3 months. lynnes
hi, evisa 457 submitted jan 18. results of medicals received by Diac today. we also just got our police checks through today but when i tried to continue with online application it wont let me in. keeps saying there is a problem with retrieving it. I have taken the trn no from the saved application which i can access by going on the 'track visa application' link so I think I am getting the password wrong and i just cant seem to remember it. I only use 3 different passwords for everything and have tried every combination i can think of. Question is, what do I do now. Do I wait untill DIAC attach medicals and then just sent pc by post or start the whole process all over again. blonde or what. LOL

Have you had a positive result yet? Shaz Hi i am a self employed hairdresser, and you do have to provide lots of info, but only things what you probably have already, i just had to get stat decs from clients and a letter from the wholesalers to say how much i had spent with them and how long i had traded with them, TRA is difficult but worth it, once your skill has been assessed. Guest Dark
Chris (28) and Lynn(31) I'm going for the skilled Independent Visa though not even really started yet. First off getting skill assessment sorted with the ACS, any one else done this willing to tell me more about what they are looking for. I am going in under Security Specialist got CCSP, degree and a very relevant job currently. But not 100% sure on the paperwork they are going to want to process it quickly? will Scanned certs and ID etc do attached to the online form or do I need to get someone "special" to sign photo copies and mail them over? If so who counts as special Got loads of questions but i am off to find other threads that might be more relevent to post them in
