  1. Hello, our 2 year old Westie Monty is currently in quarantine in Sydney. I did as much of the work as I could. The process needs to be started early as the quarantine period before your dog can be released into Australia is 180 days, from the results of a blood test which is taken a month after your dog has had his rabies injection. Most of the quarantine period can be spent at home with you but the minimum amount of time to be spent in quarantine in Australia is 30 days. My costs were roughly as follows: Vet fees for all blood tests, injections, worming, flee and kennel cough approx. £500 Pet AQIS passport approx. £180 Flight from Heathrow to Sydney, including crate and vet seal approx. £980 Quarantine fees in Sydney for 30 days Aus$ 1,030 approx. Fee for delivery from Sydney airport to Quarantine Aus$ 98. We delivered Monty to Heathrow 4 hours before his flight. He is due to be released on 5 September and I am half expecting the possibility of a small bill for some thing. It was a lot of hard work together with everything else you have to deal with when moving here, but we did it! Shop around for more quotes the more you do the less you pay! Good luck!

    Visa 175 - G5

Yes, when we applied we were top of the list but they were a year behind in allocation. After the first year rules changed and Hubby's trade taken off the list. After that we were continually bumped down the list. In despair we thought Visas would not be issued at all and tied to get on with our lives. I gained a perm job, Eldest started first year of GCSEs, put house on the market to sell and buy a bigger one, parent family members health started to deteriorate and we had that long awaited email!! It was mixed emotions!! We lost our family member then another became ill and it was a hard time but we knew we had to go. Now we are excited!! We are leaving in 3 weeks to start a fresh new life in Australia!! Can't wait, but to all you out there still waiting, it is worth the wait hang on in there!! Bes Wishes all from the Lloyd Family.

  4. I had to do the same and my fridge and freezer are over 10 years old. I looked up the manufacturer online and asked contacted then by email. I gave them the model/ serial number. They were quick with a reply. Good luck. Junie
  5. Thank you all for your help. I completed the forms 929, sent then to Australia House, London and have now received email confirmation of the changes. Thank you all again!!x
  6. Is this quote for a 20ft container? Do they do the packing? What company is this as I have not had a quote as cheap as that! Have you looked at the reviews for the company? Good luck with the move.
  7. Ecosse, did you send the form by post or email and where too?
  8. Will try that but the information I have found here and there suggests that it has to be the country that granted the Visas that deals with it. Anything is worth a try, thank you. Junie
  9. We were granted our visas in November 2012, however my husband and 3 children have had to renew their passports before we leave the UK. I contacted Diac in Adelaide, who granted the visas, to advise of the change. They said that once we get to Oz we need to go to Australian Embassy with old passports, new passports and Visa grant notice. We are due to fly out in August and I am afraid that this will now cause us problems at Heathrow!! I am stressed enough do not need any more probs at last minute. Please anyone had this problem or know what I should do? Please? Junie.
  10. People please I need help!! I am going around in circles. I have had quote after quote. I am limited to a very tight budget yet still do not know who to choose! Your comments would gratefully be received. The companies I have had quotes from are as follows:- PSS Anglo Pacific Doree Bonner John Mason Fox Hunts International UTS Pearson Coles Move Corp Atlantic International :arghh:Junie, due to move in August to Brisbane!
  11. Hi All, We have finally received our s175 perm res visas after 4.5years of waiting. I think we need to get over to Australia as soon as possible as my eldest is 15 and has started her first year of GCSEs. However, would it be worth staying in the UK until she finishes her first year? Will the GCSEs have any credit towards the Australian year 12 qualification? I am going through so many emotions at the moment as many people don't want us to go. We have had a death in the family and another member is in hospital. I feel as though I should stay and look after them, because that is what I do. But then I feel as though my life is over if I don't go. Anyone else have this dilemma?
