They logged our viza application back at the beginning of September 2008 and we are still waiting!

not to put a downer but we waited nine months but that was when they had

all the back log so it should be quicker for you as they say they have cleared

the backlog.

How far along are you: lol all my paperwork is in with the agents just waiting on one certificate from partner (au citizen) then his lot will be submitted as well. once that done and checked we should be given the go ahead to book meds. by the time the paperwork arrives at the consulate the med reports should be there as well.. then is just the waiting game. has taken 2 years to get this far!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could give me info on de facto visa- computer is being slow and not letting me view threads.

I came out here nov 2007 for a few months and was to travel to new z afterwards. i then bumped into my boyfriend in jan 08 and decided to stay and give it a go.

Therefor I was silly and missed out on my flights to nz and a lot of money, but hey I would rather spend the time with my partner.

I did 3 months fruit picking/labour work to get a second visa(in a different state from him) and have kept all receipts from places stayed whilst i was away from him.

I then came back in august 08 and we moved in together, we then both went back to scotland so he could meet my family for a month-again kept receipts and details.

I know the defacto is a few grand and you have to be together for a year(with a few exceptions?) so we can apply in august this year before my second working holiday visa runs out in november?

I have only been to 3 states, 2 were with my partner and the other was work to get a second visa to stay with my partner. so i was wondering what kind of details you need when you apply and if we should apply in august when our "moving in anniversary commences"?

any info anyone can give me on this please let me know, as i do not have a clue where to start!

cheers guys. J

Hi Jess

Go to the main page and see what forum you want to post on whether it is general dilemmas, news, chat and gossip or migration issues, then when this page comes up it says start new thread just click on this box and away you go.

Hope this helps i'm still not fab on the computer or this website but can get about just about.

Good luck

Hang on in there, we submitted our 176 visa in March 08 and we did not get a case officer until October, the wait can be long especially when people get their visa before you, who applied after, but thats life, your turn will come
