Big shock to system as know nothing about Perth or WA. Help anyone? TRA successful and Visa being sent for this week. Would like to meet other Scots in the process for a shoulder to cry on We are in the same boat, we have been researching SA for 2 years, then OH's occupation came up on WA priority list meaning a permanent 176 visa rather than provisional in SA. Our visa was acknowledged on the 2nd March so we will have similar timelines. Sorry I can't tell you much about WA, but I am a fellow Scot, but I have been in the south of England for 26 years! But you never know, we might end up meeting in Perth, you know most Scots talk to anybody!

So i'm a true celt! I am 43 and Martin is 44 (45 at the end of the month) we have a daughter who is 8 and a 3 year old son. I have been looking at both south and north of Perth, I don't think we will really know until we get there (if we ever do!) I do like the look of areas around Joondalup, but also like the look of Mandurah and Secret Harbour. It's got to be better that where we are in Greater London! I found this link during my searches: City of Joondalup You probably have this real estate one, but if not Real Estate Institute of WA - Perth Property, Land & Homes For Sale or Rent in Western Australia Good luck! Thats great! We are so similar. Both my grandparents were born in Glasgow Springburn area, so Im a true Celt too! We have just found out today we could also get state sponsorship from SA so we have a bit of thinking to do this weekend as we want to but the visa in on Monday. As our girls arent coming where we stay is not a huge issue as regards to schools etc but we would still like a nice area with a big sense of community. Both Mandurah and Joondalup caught our attention too. We have been looking on www.domain.com.au and Real Estate, Property, Land and Homes for Sale, lease and rent - realestate.com.au . I didnt have that site so will check it out after the football tomorrow. The old firm are playing in the Cup final if you can remember all the footie hype up here. Im for the rugby tonight hoping Ireland beat Scotland but just so I can wind Michael up. He was from Drumoyne beside Govan Originally and has never moved more than 25 miles from there so Oz is a huge step for him. However he has no family left except his daughter so not a lot to tie him, and lets face it as a hairdresser he could work anywhere in the world. One thing that does concern us is jobs. The normal national job websites have no adverts for hairdressers in WA which is worrying. Do you know of any sites specific to WA or Perth? WA is gettin hammered by the recession ,job losses every day , try seek and narrow it down to Wa but most of the jobs on there are duplicated. Guest heidi1234
Hi everyone... Have you heard the news today?..can look it up on the BBC website.. this is what they were talking about... Scary stuff... makes me worry now, although we going in as IT specialists so hopefully wont affect us.,. Australia cuts migrant job intake Australia has said it will cut the number of skilled foreign workers it accepts by 14% to safeguard local jobs. Immigration Minister Chris Evans announced the cut, the first by the country in 10 years. Mr Evans said the government did not want to admit people who would compete with Australians for limited jobs amid the global financial crisis. Unemployment is rising in Australia, after years of economic growth fuelled largely by mining exports. One of the main countries likely to be affected by the cuts is the UK. Every year many British bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers and other people with trades decide to swap life in the UK for life in Australia. Construction slowdown "We're going to cut (the programme) from 133,500 to 115,000, so that's about a 14% cut," Mr Evans told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The number of foreign skilled migrants will be cut by 18,500 for the 2009/10 financial year, which starts in June, from a total number of 133,500 in 2008/09. "The economic circumstances in Australia have changed as a result of the global financial crisis," Mr Evans said. "It is prudent to reduce this year's migration intake accordingly." The permanent skilled migration programme will bar entry to foreign bricklayers, plumbers, carpenters and electricians for the foreseeable future. :err:

Wholesale Sporting Goods Items Shipped To You Direct From China Wholesaler this company has free shipping to anywhere in the world and they guarantee delivery to Australia. I heard that sling shots are ok to sell in Australia as long as you say they are being used to toss bait in the water when you go fishing, any truth to thatone?
